First time at this Revolution. Earlier this year I visited the one in Blackpool not far from the front. You start to compare then realised what I was doing... you cant compare.. despite the fact the 'chain' has bar/restaurant up and down the country they all have their own twist. I was in Liverpool this weekend and wanted to make the most if the view and atmosphere at Albert Dock before going home. We had a lovely table by the window, attentitive staff, gorgeous cocktails and fabulous food. Thank you!

Revolution is not an independent store indeed there is more than one just within Liverpool but this particular bar in the dockside area really left a lasting impression on me so much so that I felt I would write it a kind review. The best thing here is the location which as with anywhere around the docks is just perfect and really adds something to your experience when you are out for either a quick drink, a night out or even a bite to eat. The drinks are a little expensive here but I just felt that the atmosphere here was so much friendlier than other Revolution bars I had visited and this really impressed me. The atmosphere was lively and the place is always busy but I was served quickly and the staff were great so I was left feeling more than a tad impressed. If you're going to go to a Revolution make sure you choose this one it will be a choice well made.

Came here on a day out in Liverpool looking for some tasty grub and cocktails! So the reason why its down to 4 stars is because of the irritating seating arrangements they have here. Being a beautiful day on the docks, everyone wants to sot in the sun. After being told the available seats (in the sun) were reserved we asked if we could be next up for a table in that glorious sunshine. We were told yes absolutely you'll be next 'I promise'. This was a barefaced lie as the waitress then proceeded to give the next tables away to anyone she pleased. This was annoying as we had picked this place not for the food but for the sun!!! Anyway we eventually after catching the waitress once note reminding and asking her had she lost her memory, we got said table in the sun!! From here on in it was a pleasant, and great experience just like its supposed to be! Having not fancied a bit meal I opted for a few sides:the Mac n cheese, bread shrimp and some sweet potato fries. All of these were AMAZING and so tasty. We also got a couple of cocktails, mine was the strawberry mojito- v tasty! Apart from the table situation we had a great time with Fab cocktails n food in the sun however revs you need to sort your tables out!!

Singularly the worst restaurant experience in my 45 years of dining. I don't write reviews but I feel compelled to warn the general public. 30 minutes after the drink order they informed our group that two of the bottles of wine were not in stock and none of our drinks had come out. The manager claimed it was busy, it was not. We cancelled the mains but the appetizers had started to come out. Inedible would be a mild description. Let me just show the fine popcorn shrimp available and note the grease on my fingers. Run, hide. Don't go here and certainly don't feed your children from what what must be the worst restaurant in Liverpool. The manager made silly excuses and our server hid from embarrassment. Prime candidate for a visit by Gordon Ramsey. Stay away.

OK, it's a revolution and yes they are all pretty much of a muchness so we all know what we are getting from them here, however, I did think it was worth including this venue because of its location. Cheap shots aplenty, pretty decent burgers and various offers on different days of the week have ensured the Revolution Bars have become a very popular staple to many urban nights out. But with a very overlooking the Mersey from The beautiful Albert Dock this place does have something that the other chains don't. These bars are usually rammed come Friday and Saturday nights but on a summer evening the pavillion provides a good place to party in this historic location.

Quick stop in a crazy wanderfull Liverpool short vacation! Nice place, nice people and nice food.

Nice atmosphere, burgers/pulled pork inspired meny and a huge variety of vodka. The food was good and came fast, I had the smoked burger and side order of sweet potato fries. The wine list was tiny and the pinot noir is not recommended. Think it would've received an additional star if I was the vodka type......

There's memorabilia of the band dotted around including a photo strategically placed above the spot they used to sit. Whilst it remains s a cheap and cheerful pub run by friendly staff, the only people likely to frequent The Grapes these days are nostalgic locals and tourists. Both the decor and layout have changed since the Merseybeat days and the whole place could do with a bit of TLC and elbow grease. If you're drinking spirits, there's vodka, whisky and so on but the beer section is disappointing compared to other pubs in the city. Ironically, the worst thing about The Grapes these days is the entertainment. It might have housed the hippest Liverpool band back in the day but it now runs deafening karoake sessions early evenings followed by average singer-songwriters and bands.

Since the only one on Mathew Street at the time was the Grapes, mere doors away, it would be here that benefited most richly. The claim to Beatles fame is therefore more genuine here than some other places, they visited between gigs, but that doesn't entirely vindicate it from tackiness. I last visited this pub on a Saturday afternoon, when there was little danger of karaoke erupting from nowhere and the seats were likely to be empty. The awkwardly-shaped bar can mean it takes a while to get served but soon I was sitting with a pint of stout, blessing the gods for letting me have a table to myself. This lasted precisely eighteen seconds before five rowdy Dutchmen came and surrounded me. Conversation with them went swimmingly until I accidentally called them German. I also brought up their recent World Cup Final defeat. I shouldn't be allowed near Europeans.

Classic dance anthems from your yoof do indeed crop up, but since they're little more than classic dance anthems, I won't be booking my wedding here. Better to just revisit your own 90s memories than come here.

Old Skool is a slightly better alternative to the 90s bar over the road, if only because the spaces are smaller and encourage a bit more impromptu dancing and chatting. Last time I was here it was a bit of a desperate move as me and my mate were trying to ditch the double dates we had, so ducked into this place. We actually had a fairly decent time here, but then we stayed for less than an hour. It's a nice trip down memory lane and there's some really good club anthems that gets everyone going, but I still can't get to grips with a 90s bar. It's just weird!

It's a small, ramshackle kind of place but with a statue of the Virgin Mary hanging over you at the bar, you'll feel in blessed hands getting hammered here. I'm not sure what it is about Irish bars that feel the need to display the collection of odds-n-sods that have been gathered over the years but this place also has plenty of them filling the spaces on the walls. The strange addition of a display case in the corner filled with china plates and jugs next to an old fashioned stove only adds to the sensation that the bar was converted from Ma O'reilly's home. However there is not just a strong Oirish contingent who come here as I have often noticed a good Polish representation here which adds to the lively mix of nations who like a drink! "Yeah sure, knock the whole street down. See if I care. Just don't touch the pub!" It's a massive shame that 'Irish pub' can often be interpreted as a byword for 'painfully fake and tacky' but if they were all as inherently groovy as Shenanigans, the world would be a better place.
