We set up an eval for my 2 oldest kids (thanks Beth) and they were placed in classes. They find the classes to be easier than North Shore Racquet Club, which may be a leveling thing. They do like that they are small classes and say that the instructors are all great. They've also been doing privates with Mo, who is such an amazing instructor. I watched my son's lesson one day and was so impressed with the feedback he was getting and he has a really fun, positive attitude too. I'm doing a lot of outdoor tennis right now thanks to this gorgeous Chicago fall we are enjoying, but when it's time to hit the indoor courts I may see if Mo has time for me too! They have agility classes here too, which I think look amazing. I've been trying to convince my kids to try them, but so far they just want to play tennis. The front desk can be slow with returning emails and they don't always answer the phone, which can be difficult when it comes to scheduling makeups, etc. They do have a makeup email alias, but I"ve yet to get a response when I've emailed it and usually just call until someone picks up. Overall, it's a great club and I can see why it has such a good reputation!

Sportsmanship, team building and foundational skills are the focus. This has been a great environment for my son to learn each sport and really has allowed him to build a passion for each sport he has played. I cannot say enough about the coaches. Coach Kraig, Coach George, as well as all the other coaches we have had between all the sports have been focused and positive. They build a positive environment in which each child can build confidence. My son is always learning something from each game/skills session/camp day and is always so excited to play. Coach Kraig is in charge of the program and really gets to know the kids, the parents, and puts in extra effort to make sure things run smoothly. He communicates well and is prompt to reply to questions as they arise. We trust him whole-heartedly and will continue participating with such a nice organization for our son and eventually our daughter. He is a great role model for our kids.

Its hard to drop him off, I want to get out and participate in the activities.Where to begin...well first off its super well run by a well-trained friendly staff. They help with everything including applying sun screen at beginning of the day. Kids are assigned to a coach with same age kids, and let me tell you these coaches are hand-picked- super nice, love kids and know their sports. You can tell many of them play elite sports themselves. The camp is well programmed with different themes each week- basketball one week, Olympic week the next. Competitive but in good way. Lunch is really good- food kids like to eat like Popeye's chicken, pizza, and Fridays they grill hot dogs and hamburgers for the kids. Pickup and dropoff is fast and easy and location right off the highway- or there is bus pickup from many Northside locations. We moved to Park Ridge but Jack insisted he attend camp regardless (he met his best friend there) so Mom and Dad take turns driving him an hour each way sometimes (so worth it). They have a great photog who sends out super cool videos each week. Field trips to Cubs games and water parks. Its so great we usually sign him up for most of the the summer, and take advantage of the early bird pricing before January 1st each year. We cannot wait for the camp to start this summer, its hard to imagine a summer sports camp as good at this one. The Elite Center is a great facility with good training options…read more It is expensive, so its not cheap but the staff available for training is very good for varying ages (7 to high schools) and provides good foundational training. If you want to learn the game, and the skills to get improved results this is a good place to get that instruction. The facility is state of the art as well and kept immaculate. So the value depends on if you want a clean place to practice and learn or an old overused gym.

Mike will teach your children the absolute fundamentals of the game as well as the necessary skills and finesse to be excellent players. I have been amazed over the years, how many times other parents of my children comment about my children's form and instincts. Mike is definitely the reason! Two of my children are basketball-a-holics, however, my other son was not. Mike knows exactly how to teach to each child and most importantly, how to help your child succeed at their best level. He can be no nonsense (particularly as they are first learning and which is a positive!) but he is ALWAYS ALWAYS fair to all the children. Mike cares about his players first and foremost. Mike watches the numbers so that he can give individual instruction as well as provides the players with the opportunity to participate in leagues. He ensures that the teams are balanced and that the coaches he chooses to assist him understand the game and how to make each player into their best basketball self. Mike ensures the teams have very manageable numbers so all the players get considerable experience in the games. He uses the games as learning experiences for the clinics he holds. Mike is always willing to talk to you to discuss your child--their strengths as well as their opportunities for improvement. He literally can be reached around the clock--he will pick up his cellphone at all times unless he is on the court. Then, once he gets off the court, he will call you back immediately. He always publishes his clinics and leagues well in advance so there is no question of when and what the commitment is. If for some reason, you need to change a week, he is willing to work with you about making it up. We have participated in a number of other programs for travel leagues--there is no comparison. Mike is awesome! If you truly want your child to learn the game of basketball---stop looking because Mike is definitely the coach and Elite is the place to go! As their theme, MOD means Method, Opportunity, and Drive. Among other things, they conduct camps, training sessions, private coaching, sponsorship of travel teams, etc. One of the grand-darlings recently enrolled in one of their 4 day girls' summer camps and it was a great way for her to get introduced to the sport. She had a blast, learning and developing in the fundamentals of the sport while making new friends. The 4 coaches involved, all skilled college aged players themselves, made it fun for the girls, who ranged in age from kindergarten through 4th grade. They were split up by grades so they could do their drills with similar hand-eye coordination skills. Their main facility is at the nice and well equipped North Shore Sports Center which has 11 volleyball courts. Big thumbs up from what I have seen so far.

I debated writing this review. I really wanted to like this facility for my boys to train at. Met…read morewith the owner and discussed a minimum of 2 athletes but possibly more, with a couple of their friends. The issues started with our first session where the trainer contacted me about 2 hours before the session and said he was not able to make it. No reason was given for missing. I then had to chase the owner and the trainer to get the session rescheduled. The owner agreed to take them a couple of days later which I appreciated. We decided to move the session from weekends to weekdays with a different trainer and asked if we could start the sessions at 4:30PM due to after school functions and the owner agreed. On our most recent session, one of my boys was ill, so we sent just the one. Imagine my surprise when we were charged $120 for the hour. I also found out that the regular trainer had been showing up late anywhere from 15-25 minutes for their sessions. The owner was who was working with another athlete was working with my kids until the trainer arrived while splitting time with someone else. Not fair to his regular client and not fair to my kids. I was never made aware of the time issue with the trainer. The owner did say that they preferred to work on the hour and not half hour. However, he did agree to 4:30. When I reached out about the large charge for 1 kid and finding out that their trainer was arriving late for every session, the email that I received was: "I will refund you guys completely. I personally warmed up XXXX as XXXX (Trainer) arrived to the gym, he took over the sessions. in all honesty, I don't think this is a good fit for us. The 4:30 time slot is not great for us and the number of athletes has not been consistent. Sorry for the inconvenience." Remember, he originally agreed to the 4:30 time slot. Even if we chose 4:00PM, the trainer would not have been there at all. Also, with the exception of this last session, there was always 2 at the session and once a friend joined in to make it 3, so I am not sure what consistency he was looking for? I responded that I agreed it is not a great fit and went through all of the mentioned issues and that we would find a new facility. Follow up response was best of luck to you guys and happy holidays.
