    Swanky speakeasy vibes.
    Jill A.

This space is retro swanky, and the drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced. Service was OK. Music was a little bit loud for the number of patrons in the place (fewer than 20 people at 7 PM on a Saturday.) Overall, cute and would be nice for a date night.

A solid spot if you're looking for a chill bar to grab a drink and a snack. We got the cookies and milk to share, which was really good. Then, I also got a cocktail. Overall, worth a visit for a pretty no frills, cool atmosphere bar.

I can always head the music here as I walk by, good hip hop. I stopped by for a drink. I got an espresso martini. It was good, can't go wrong with good vibes and a good drink. The place wasn't crowded and the cocktail servers were very feeling, I'll definitely be back.

Definitely a vibe... great drinks, bartender & music.... Side note: They have a happy hour too.

Impeccable spot with delicious drinks and unmatched energy. Why did they have the best DJ ever? Truly so impressed with this spot, I can't recommend it enough. Staff are super kind and the decor is a nice and elegant aesthetic.

Revolver instantly earned a regular out of me -- and it starts with the bartender. Shoutout to Tommy -- well-versed, welcoming, and truly dialed in on his cocktail craft. This guy knows his stuff and takes great care of you from the moment you sit down. If you stop by, definitely tell him I sent you. The cocktails are thoughtfully made, balanced, and clearly handled by someone who respects the art behind them. This is the kind of bar you come to when you want quality, not just a drink. I'll absolutely be back here often and will gladly recommend Revolver whenever I can. Bonus points for the daily happy hour from 5:00-6:30 PM -- honestly a no-brainer. Meet me there... or save me a seat so I can slide in. 5-star bar

Amazing happy hour for cocktails at a super chill lounge with speakeasy vibes. Come for the craft cocktails. The bartenders make to order no pre mixed stuff.

Revolver is an absolute vibe! From the moment I walked in, the energy was unmatched. The bar manager Tommy was AMAZING -- attentive, welcoming, and clearly passionate about creating a great experience. The DJ set the perfect tone all night, and the drinks? Made to absolute perfection. Every single one. I hate that I live in St. Louis because if I were in Chicago, I'd be here at least once a week without question. The service, customer care, and overall vibe are truly top-notch. And to make it even better, it's Black-owned -- which makes supporting this spot feel even better. If you're looking for great music, flawless drinks, and an atmosphere that just hits, Revolver is it. Highly recommend.

I stopped by Revolver as I saw a recommendation on IG. We decided to go for their happy hour which was priced nicely. The vibes were along the lines of a speakeasy, dark, funky light fixtures which were pretty cool. We ordered a margarita, a sidecar, and 2 shots of Sir Davis. The drinks were ok but the service was pretty poor. The staff appeared to be more interested in talking with each other rather than serving customers. There was a certain warmth missing from this place which was off putting. I would suggest staff really focus more on the customer experience.

Came here for happy hour and the place fills up fast! Around 6pm on a Friday it was quite loud and the bar was filled. We had a booth and got served fairly quickly. We got the $6 margaritas and made them spicy, which were delicious and refreshing. Definitely recommend for a fun happy hour spot for good cocktails and music!

Been meaning to check out this speakeasy. We met the owner at the Duplex once and he told us about this new spot...then I forgot about it. First checked this out early April on a Sunday evening. We were able to catch Happy Hour. The place was not crowded but slowly did hit capacity. On this occasion I came with my Father-in-law and Husband. The boys enjoyed dark liquor drinks and I enjoyed bubbles. We didn't grabbed snacks as we had a late lunch but they looked interesting. We enjoyed our time spent here and appreciated that the DJ played old and new jams. It was time to go when Sexy Red came on. I blushed for my Father-in-law. Not so much because of the song but because people started gyrating on the floor, And it wasn't even 7 PM. On second occasion, left another Happy Hour in Wicker Park and wanted to have a night cap. A girlfriend and I decided to come to Revolver. To our surprise here was a meet up being held here and the place was packed. No wonder we couldn't find parking. We were still able to grab drinks and mingle for a bit. On this occasion my drink (He who remains) was not good and horribly expensive. My cocktail ended up being $23 bucks with service charge (tip)...hmm it wasn't worth it. I ended up having another cocktail the Handlebar (margaritas-ish) and that was tasty. Overall, I like this black owned spot. Everyone is chill and having a good time. Right next door to a cool record shop. I will be back but I am gonna need to catch that HH special before rolling over to the $23 drinks.

Cool ambience, tasty drinks. Bummer that they ran out of the crab dip and creamy tahini dip. The old fashioned comes with a cool cube of ice. Bartender made my margarita spicy for me. Great deal for $8. Hubby said old fashioned was flavorful! The app called Pyro was really tasty. Ritz crackers with spicy butter. I didn't try the pork rinds but hubby said they weren't bad.

The speakeasy bar is absolutely perfect for such an old building, and it truly feels like you step back in time when you come here. The bar is dimly lit and features antique decor. I absolutely love how it's decorated. It's a pretty tiny space, so you might have to wait if you come on a Saturday night. We came at 5:10pm right after they opened and were seated right away. They have a 90-minute time limit for seating. I love the live shows they have here that happen every hour (burlesque, magicians, and other talents). The first show wasn't going to start until 6:30 so we had to stick around for a bit, which was fine because we ordered two drinks. Cover charge for the show was $8, which is automatically added to your bill. Every night their cocktail menu is decided by their drink tarot cards. They also have a menu with their seasonal cocktail specials and small food items. You never know what you'll discover here! It's truly a surprise every time.

I sat at the bar downstairs and can confirm the place has a classic speakeasy feel -- the the basement of a place behind a locked door, very dark inside with mood lighting/glass cases and leather chairs/couches around small low tables. It's definitely a great date spot! I took off a star because it's pricey -- I got the "milk punch" on their classic cocktail menu which was $25 and is pretty small, but it's a nice drink and tasted very much like a milk punch drink I got at a speakeasy back home (in Austin, TX). The bartenders were super nice and provided excellent service, no complaints there! The bathrooms were also immaculate. Overall, this is a very nice speakeasy! I've been to many in my day and the ambiance is definitely on par with the best, but I gotta say some other unique ingredients (ideally more floral options!) would really take their menu up a notch! Nevertheless, I would def rec a visit to those visiting Chicago, and would go again even just for vibes :)

We made a reservation ahead of time, which I'd definitely recommend, but it wasn't overly packed and we were seated without any issues. The vibe in there is top tier. People were standing right behind me to order drinks; I didn't feel overly crowded by any means but some who aren't used to that kind of bar/clubby vibe might feel that way. The music was a little loud to be heard over all the folks there, but I wasn't talking to anyone so it didn't bother me (was just sitting and reading a book). The bartender was really nice and attentive despite the fact that the place was so packed. I had a drink called the "Gentle Fish" which the bartender rec'd as a sweeter/more floral drink. Admittedly it was a little strong, but the flavor was nice! It was different from most other drinks I've had, and I enjoyed it. Was strong enough I definitely did not need another though. Of note, this place is downstairs under "The Hoxton" hotel, there's no entrance directly to the bar from the sidewalk/street (you have to enter the hotel lobby, then follow the signs toward the back and go down the elevator and/or stairs). There is a person who checks your ID when you enter and seats you if seats are available. The bathrooms were very clean. Not sure about parking but street parking is definitely very limited; I imagine a paid lot would probably be the easiest thing or taking the train from wherever you're staying if you can (which is what I did).
