The first space was full of couches and a bar. Lots of good places to catch up with friends before you move to the back. The second space was a dance bar, was not lit and had loud techno music. My favourite space out the back was AWESOME. Great music, friendly strangers and very dancey/groovy. Get yourself down there if underground is your scene.

Very cool staff and place is like a community where it seems everybody knows each other. Not going to lie doesn't start to pick up until about 1am but when it does it's like your on another planet. The front bar has plenty of comfy couches, the dance floor has a smoke machine with laser shows going off and outdoor area is decorated brilliantly with some more light shows on the wall. I would say this place is very underground and similar but different to revolver in prahran. This is a great local venue to me and holds some great events like black market.

Yes Julia L, it does exist and it displays horrid attemptations of karaoke sung by drunk bogans, which will leave your night feeling Dickensian and misanthropic. Roxanne parlour has played host to the 'Next Men' a few times, so this is primarily what i remember here; full force rocking jams, beats, and breaks. Next men shows are always played at full kilter; they put on a good one indeed. Drinks are pretty much to expected from a basic venue, but the inside fit-out is good. Roxanne parlour has a nice feel to it, it usually has an up beat vibe. Smoking room is so tightly packed you don't even need to bring smokes, you just walk in and second smoke hand an entire carton in under ten minutes. More it the club scene, it's a bit trashy, a bit underground, a little styled, and a little electro. but it works well at Roxanne.

With a decent stage, actually in fact two decent stages (in different rooms), a DJ booth, a large projection screen and good sized dance floor, you absolutely can't go wrong if the entertainment is to your liking. The bar is not exactly cheap, having nothing on tap. But you can get long necks of Melbourne Bitter if you are on a budget. Otherwise the Roxanne Parlour has a fairly standard bar full of drinks available.

When I first came here it was to see one of my favorite bands (Bonjah) play on Australia day 2010. I was blown away. The huge 'factory' is abundant with art. It's visual candy - everywhere. There are separate rooms with couches filled with sculptures and paintings. It has a main stage with with ample room for standing to watch a band or performer. Performers vary from dancers to mimes to comedians to actors. Revolt is open most days - it has a chill atmosphere you can just call in have a coffee and read a book or attend one of the many events which can be found on their website. The staff at Revolt are a family - literally. They took lease of the space in 2009 and have worked hard to make it what it is today. I was lucky enough to volunteer during the 2011 Fringe Festival which was a great experience. I encourage you all to call into Revolt & check it out, if only for the visual experience. It's a maze, designed with both performers and audience in mind. The crew make sure you're getting a truly unique experience by either attending or using Revolt to stage your event. For someone with a great idea but not a big plan on how to market that idea, this is possibly the place to approach to stage it. It's a bit of a secret, really, tucked down a back street in an unassuming warehouse district, but not one that should stay so.

The bar service is quite slow but there is enough room to move around. Onesixone is one of the few bars to be open till very late in Melbourne but I would highly recommend other bars in the area that better cater to social crowds and have a cleaner entertainment space.

After walking up a few flights of stairs (Ok, i love Melbourne, but why does every cool venue require you to puff yourself out) and arrived into a sleek lounge / bar space with a smokers area. The vibe was quite stylish and upper class... until the crowd rocked up. The venue picked up quite quickly and i could see a line that went almost around the corner. Out the back of the first room is a giant dance floor and bar which let us dance like drunken fools. The DJ was dropping heavy ghetto beats from newbies like Nicki Minaj to old school Tupac! Epicly awesome! The loft had a great atmosphere but i can imagine it was probably better for me because of my state of total inebriation. The crowd was a tad sleazy and the outback dance floor resembled the Lions on the outskirts looking at the gazelles preparing for their attack... (Who does't love a National Geographic reference).

There are always a lot of deals through the week and the food is pretty good, can't really complain about that. I've always been satisfied with the service. I wouldn't say it's over the top amazing but everyone is nice and as helpful as they can be. Perhaps the youthful nature of some of those employed could be frustrating to punters who have come for an easy afternoon/night out with as little fuss as possible. A few times my queries have left these kids looking like deer in headlights but they're learning, so their response time tends to be a bit slower and they're often a bit confused by attempts to create banter. With mature staff, it's just...different...but that's me being picky. I think the venue could do with refurbishing. It's dated and the layout of the bistro just doesn't work. Maybe that's why the kids' play area is mostly left to its own devices - staff and parents can't see it from where they're sitting unless they sit right outside. I feel as though they need to have someone checking in on that play room every ten/fifteen minutes or so because the simple fact of the matter is that parents ARE NOT watching their kids and their kids are running feral. My daughter is 19 months old and loves playing in playgrounds. It's only tiny and each evening we've been in there, larger kids have been crawling UP the slide and climbing on top of it. Parents are too busy chatting, on their phones or for all we know, at the pokies room. That, to me, is unacceptable. A few times I've actually had to say to kids, 'Um, I think you're old enough to know better' and 'Watch out, my daughter is right under you.' Not once have I seen a staff member pop their heads in. Also, not having parents monitor their kids... I was playing the skill tester with my daughter and the little scabs kept trying to steal my chocolates, quite annoying!
