The building management is extremely poor and does not respond to any complaints or maintenance issues. The apartments and common areas are not properly maintained. There is constant noise, and the surrounding environment feels unsafe due to criminal activity. Packages and deliveries are frequently lost or stolen if they are not collected immediately. Human feces have been found in the hallways, the stairwells are extremely dirty and unsanitary, and the elevator is often out of service or malfunctioning. I'm not sure how to properly review this business since I am not a tenant, however, I have reached out numerous times in hopes of finding an apartment. My first initial contact to them was 12/29/2025. I spoke to a woman and can't remember her name, but I was told someone would contact me. I have called 3 times after this and have yet to hear from anyone. I do have a voucher and I'm in a shelter with my 2 children, which I stated each time I called. The last call I made was in March and just like the other times, they took all of my information and said someone would reach out to me. Revona Properties have taken over from Central Astoria about 2 yrs ago. Since than. the property has gone down, this summer I never seen so many rat's running around on the property I've lived here for 51yrs, and I've never seen nothing like this. we get minimum heat, heat comes up from 6am-10am, than it doesn't come back on until 6pm-10pm, and that's it for the night. Something has to give, I see myself going to housing court, no one has to live like this, and the rent is not cheap. read more

Revona Properties is a useless agency that can't resolve a noise complaint for more than 3 months. They rent the apartments to the unpleasant and rude people that don't have any consideration for their neighbors. After writing multiple email, making multiple calls and leaving multiple voice messages I still live a nightmare being constantly disturbed by the neighbors above. Revona employers are not responsive, it is very hard to get a real person to talk to, no one ever calls back. Our building previous management company was much better. Management is cheap, they ignore legitimate health concerns like mold, roaches, mice, bedbugs. They have the audacity to charge the prices they do, for terrible conditions in tiny space. Mind you, it's a far walk to the local train, no elevator, no onsite laundry, and just deplorable conditions. It was good MANY MANY years ago, before RENOVA took over, they are truly terrible. Several of the original tenants of these complexes can attest to how the quality of life has plummeted. Idk what is up with this management company, destroying what was once a beautiful, well maintained, safe and pleasant place to live. Revona Properties is run by piss poor decision makers. When money comes before the well-being of their tenants, there's really nothing good to say. The other down side? Lots of drug activity/ drug addicts. The neighbors are loud, they dump their trash in the hallway; they hangout in the hallways; they allow their children to run up and down yelling in the hallways. Delivery packages are stolen regularly. Water bugs are a big problem here. The plumbing is always backing up or going down slow. And I hear that this is one of the better buildings. Now I understand why this place has such a high turn over. I refuse to stay another year. Just read the other reviews. Lol soooo true especially the one with the late fees. I vacated my apartment, now managed by Revona, at the beginning of July. I had lived in the apartment for 8 years. At this time they are claiming damages to the apartment and are refusing to return my deposit. The bulk of the claims are absolutely without merit, including a claim on an appliance that was not actually in the apartment. I will echo other comments here that they have made it very difficult to be contacted. Finally, if you live with Revona as a property manager, make sure to keep records of maintenance requests ( for items that they repair and fail again) and make to insist that they repair anything that breaks otherwise they will try to charge you for the item when you leave. Keep records of your interactions with them. They are unscrupulous. read more

One star is way too much for them. I've lived in this area 43 years . Since it became Revona properties about 1 1/2 years ago we have mice, rats, roaches., everything I never had to deal with before. I am so happy that I found one maintenance guy berry who is responsive and try's his best to help because everyone complains about how rude and inattentive the employees here are. Would give 0 stars if possible. The management team is disrespectful, evasive, untruthful, and incompetent. When I first paid rent, I and another customer waited outside their Washington Heights location for 30 minutes only to find out the office was closed. They didn't have a bell to ring or a sign with hours so we didn't know what was up. I had received communication that same morning telling me that it would be open so I called to clear up the misunderstanding. A different representative then told me that no office existed there and repeated tried to end the call until I had asked for her manager over 7 times. The manager then berated me for asking for her intervention, despite their subordinate giving me false information. When the office was finally open, a whole 11 days later, I called to confirm that I can go in. When I did, the office attendant wasted 15 minutes lecturing me on their preferred communication style instead of telling me if I can come into the office. When I finally confirmed that I can go, I went and they tried to prevent me from paying by saying that I had to give my rent to the super instead. I had to call their supervisor in front of them to force them to accept my money order. As I was leaving, the attendant sucked their teeth at me and turned the lights off before I reached the door. read more

Unfortunately i have to agree with the ratings on here for this property management. I am having some really issues with their accounting. They have added some late fees. I've sent numerous emails with the information including the copy of the payment and no one responses to my emails or phone calls. This has been going on for months and still no assistance from anyone. It is very frustrating to attempt to get some service from this company without results. I have lived in here for many years and never would i have thought i would be living in the conditions iam now. First off the woman during the apartment rentals you can clearly see shes taking money under the table from these third world country people shes renting to. some of them you can clearly see are illegal immigrants and have as much as ten people living in a studio apartment. The building The Sussex is filthy no matter how hard the poor workers try to keep it clean its because these people from these poor countries dont care about the standards of living here. They have children untrained and they will let them run all day and stomp and jump making all type of noise and managment does nothing except collect rent from them. I've lived here for many years. When I first moved here the service here was ok, now its gotten much worse. The people that work in the management office are very rude and don't speak perfect English. The heat come on early in the morning and stay off until late in the evening. The apartments are very old. The floors creek and crack every time the above neighbor walk across the floor. The walls are paper thin you can listen to every word your neighbor is saying. The hall ways are dirty especially the stairs they look as though they have never been mop or swept. The windows forget about it, you can hardly see out of them they are dirty and gray and there are many air holes where the wind comes into the sides of the window even when they are close shut. Rent is much too high. The appliances are old when something breaks they give you an old and used from the room in the basement. I wouldn't recommend anyone to consider moving into any of these apartments. I am planning moving out first of next year. Starting the year in my new house. read more
