I stopped by toward the end of the year and they had a nice selection of holiday-themed items. The store is of course geared toward home furnishings but they have some gift-type items as well. As far as I can tell, they most likely rotate what they showcase in the store as the season goes but many things can be purchased online. During my visit, they happened to be doing a monthly wine tasting and I proceeded to sample several wines. The wines can be purchased in-store and online. Even during these times I would like to "see" things as I shop (but maybe don't "touch"?), and Two Chicks District Co. is worth a visit. I paid them $200.00, before I saw the rug, when I ask why the rug was not cleaned, the owner told me they had to really SWEEP it to get the dirt out. So, they charged me $200.00, to do that. So when I stopped in after seeing a friend's photos of the shop, I first noticed that the staff was personable and inviting. I really like when a place that is offering things for your own home makes you feel welcome in their business. It sets a tone. As I browsed through the different rooms in the shop, each was a little different. There are some standard items like candles, knick knacks, some women's jewelry and accessories, and even a few toys. But what I sensed was there were two themes that seemed most apparent. First, the store is loaded with holiday items. I came here just a few days before Christmas and the place was loaded with unique items that were affordable (though not cheap.) There were ornaments (marked down by 40%), table items, and things you'll just have to come in and check out for yourself. I also noticed a second theme that was promoting downtown Indy. They had pillows with the names of neighborhoods on them. Those would be great as house/apartment warming gifts. Even the candles mentioned earlier had neighborhood names on them, though I am not certain who determined which scent represented them. (Note that all the fragrances were pleasant, not some actual scent you might smell outside!) And the staff were friendly and welcoming. That goes a long way. Told me their policy won't allow you to file a claim with your credit card company! Sounds like an attempted insurance scam to me and they are trying to screw their customer. They will claim that they will give your full purchase price in trade. They don't tell you the caveat that the rug you are trading for must be more expensive and of a style that is popular at the time of the trade. We own four of their rugs. We no longer have a use for one of them. We tried to trade it for a less expensive rug for the kitchen dinette. They told us that would be impossible, and besides, green is no longer popular. They were supposed to have some custom samples made for us, and four years later we are still waiting to see them. We have dealt with Royal Gallery of Rugs for over thirty years. We thought we had a good relationship with them. Not!
