Wow. I think this may be a company trying to put itself out of business. Have you ever seen so many one star Yelp reviews? I am surprised and disappointed by Restoration Hardware's new shipping policies. I wanted to place a $199 trundle mattress order, only to find out both online and when I called, that my only option was $125 unlimited shipping on this item. $125 to ship a $199 mattress? All your competitors, which I regularly shop, offer better shipping opportunities to the end consumer. Crate and Barrel has unlimited shipping, but for orders under $450, they offer standard shipping, at about $30 for their trundle bed mattress. Pottery Barn (WS, West Elm) all have better deals too. For example, it costs $30 to ship the $239 trundle bed mattress at Pottery Barn Kids. Land of Nod offers standard shipping too ($22) on their equivalent trundle mattresses. Of coarse, your dimensions were in line with what I wanted, and after being happy with the trundle bed we purchased last year, I thought I might choose you again. But your inflexibility on the shipping policy despite this practice not being in line with your direct competitors, has convinced me you don't value your repeat customers, and that in this economy, you are simply not using common sense to run your business. In fact, the "Customer Advocate" I emailed is a complete misnomer, given the inflexible, dismissive response I received. I was told essentially to pound sand. Shame on you Restoration Hardware, for not offering flexibility and cost effective options to your customers. You just lost me permanently as a customer, on principle. Very disappointed. read more

If I could leave negative stars, I would. As a former employee now expecting a child, RH baby and child was my go to for several must have items. Unfortunately, I regret my commitment to purchases from this company as I should have known after the horrible customer service experiences I witnessed while employed by the corporation. At eight months pregnant, I excitedly washed my Moses basket bedding today.. only to find that it doesn't fit the basket. Annoying, but something that could easily be fixed I thought. WRONG! I called customer service and was informed that all bedding is out of stock and that I could either wait 4 months or return the items which of course I no longer have boxes for. Upon explaining the situation to the CS Representative, I was told that I could either; A; buy boxes to accommodate the return of the stand, basket and bedding which if boxes could be picked up at my residence. B. Bring all the items to UPS (disassembled) so they could box them for me. If I wasn't 8 months pregnant with CTS and my husband currently deployed, maybe one of these would be an option but given the situation...they aren't. Thanks RH, for your lack of consideration and refusal to accommodate ANY other options. Thank you for your commitment to sell defective and damaged products and leave your clients with unusable products. What a cold, lifeless collection of clunky overpriced furniture laid out to resemble some kind of baby prison or retail Skinner Box experiment. I am not of the mindset that baby furniture has to be an explosion of pastels and cartoons, but this store goes to the other end of the spectrum, resembling the set of a Guillermo Del Toro movie about a haunted orphanage. Do not order anything from the store. We ordered the entire nursery furniture and its been backordered for 4 months with still no promised delivery date. Luckily, they did let us cancel after 4 months. They don't make their own furniture and customer service don't know when their items will actually be delivered. I now am forced to buy furniture based on time of availability from other stores instead of getting the furniture I would have wanted. I highly would suggest all expectant parents to look elsewhere so you don't get stuck last minute running around looking for furniture instead of enjoying your last couple of weeks before the baby arrives. Their stuff is great but make sure you buy things that you can actually pick up in store. Even baby blankets are backordered for 2 months so far. read more

If you've never seen what a funeral home looks like, you should walk into this store. It's dark and creepy with "show rooms" along side the main hall. I normally wouldn't mind, but think it's especially creepy for baby store. The reason I drove all the way to Corte Madera was to see in person a sample of nursery bedding I've had my eye on online. Waddya know, they don't have the bedding in store. I then decided to order three styles of bedding from online (which they lady had an ipad and keyed in my order for me). Turns out if you place the order in store, you avoid the $50 shipping fee (still shipped directly to your home). $50! Half of the stuff was on back order. As expensive as their items are, I just think it's crummy service. Not to have the items available and $50 for shipping. At least the woman in the store was really sweet and helpful. Maybe the company should consider not pumping out fancy catalogs and put their efforts towards customer service instead.... read more

Bought a beautiful crib, and paid a ton of money for it. 6 months later, the crib began to show defects. I contacted their corporate office, and they said "At this time we are not able to offer any return or exchanges as this is not a defect with the item." One line... that's it. High fees to ship. The customer has to pay to ship back. I was told my return was received ten days ago, 16 days after I sent it from my UPS store for $30. No credit has been issued to my card yet. I just received another item from an order I placed mid-May because everything from this store is on backorder. Now I have to pay to ship that item back because I no longer need it and honestly forget about it. All this from a company that does most of its business through catalog orders. Steer clear!! I'm SO happy that the very first Restoration Hardware Baby store is in Northern California. This store has been my inspiration in creating and decorating my entire baby nursery. There are chandeliers everywhere and I just love what they have done. I even painted my nursery room the same "Pebble" color they have the entire store painted in. They recently had a 20% off sale where I purchased some items over the phone and then they held it for me to pickup so that I could avoid hefty shipping charges. Some things (chandeliers & sconces) are not carried in the store so you have to purchase those online. I will be back to get all of my crib bedding soon. This store makes me love coming to the Village at Corte Madera now as I can waltz over to Gap Kids (maternity clothing section), A Pea in the Pod, Lululemon, Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn kids. read more

Terrible! We ordered a crib online, which was due to 2 weeks to reach us (it actually took 2 months!!). When it eventually arrived, it was very disappointing. It was supposed to look like aged wood, but it looked like wood coated in cheap plastic, not the quality we had hoped for in RH. They eventually arranged a return & gave us a $50 voucher for the problems. We made the mistake of usIng the voucher to buy something else (curtains & rods for our nursery). Again the website said everything was available immediately; the curtains turned up in 10 days & then we get a note saying the rods would be sent on 2/28, then on 2/29 we get a message saying they will now be delivered on 4/3!!!! Customer service is anything but; RH have no idea on their inventory, either what is in stock & what is coming in. Shocking, we will never use them again read more

I ordered many of the items for a twin nursery and would never order from them again. Everything came in defective. The carpets were dirty, liners for baskets didn't fit, canvas storage baskets smelled so moldy and bad you could faint and colors didn't match as promised. Many items were listed as the color Petal but in reality they were not the same. Their quality control is definitely lacking. Everything looks great in their catalog but wait till you see the items in person. You are in for a rude awakening.. Ordered crib bed skirts which took a full day of ironing to get rid of the creases. They do not tell you that the crib skirt comes balled up tightly and need hours of ironing to straighten out. TERRIBLE. There is not a word that I can use on this website to describe how angry I am and how astonishingly horrible my experience has been. I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering from here. Now I realize I received the same horrible treatment as everyone else did. I ordered a chair in early December. They called in January to say the chair was ready to be shipped, and set a delivery day (not a time, because somehow they can't even give you a time frame until the day before delivery, so I guess they assume that nobody works or does anything and can just have entire days available just for Restoration Hardware delivery). So then they called the next day and said that actually, the chair was broken and it had to be re-made. They told me that it was going to be a rush order and that someone would call me back the next day and let me know when the new chair would be delivered. Of course, nobody called me back. And after making several phone calls, I learned that that person had lied to me because they don't even do rush orders, it's out of their control because they don't make their own furniture. They told me that it would actually be delivered in early March. Well early March came, and no sign of my chair. So I made many more calls, and finally they told me it would be delivered by March 15. Guess what? March 15 came, and still no sign of my chair. They seem to have no idea where the chair actually is, and everyone I talk to says that I'll get a call back, which I never do, and everyone that I email says they are sorry for this inconvenience, but I get absolutely no useful information. I would never order anything from this place again. It is completely over-priced, and customer service is horrendous. If you still plan on ordering from them, I hope you're placing your order at least 4 months before you actually want your item to arrive, and don't mind being lied to and over-charged for bad service. read more

I wished I did my homework prior to ordering. I found a cute bedding set and couldn't resist, I didn't realize it was back ordered until July 25th and I am due in aug!! I called and they told me they don't take money out until it ships which you have no control over and I asked for payment to be processed and they said they would call back which they never did. I called again to see if they could switch to something else so I could have my bedding- the prices were higher and the ship dates were all aug! How insanse that they do this with nursery stuff! I have never experiences such horrible customer service! I was expecting nordstroms kind of service and I got nothing even close! If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. The service at this overpriced, bourgie store is absolutely abhorrent. I received 2 Restoration Hardware items for my baby shower on Sunday. Although I did not have a gift receipt, both items were in their original packaging with the Restoration Hardware tags still attached. I tried to exchange the items at that San Francisco gallery. The young lady assisting me there was very helpful. Although that location does not carry children's items, and I did not have a receipt, she went above and beyond trying to locate the purchase receipt in your system, and after being unable to do so, she still consulted with her manager, and offered me to give me store credit for the amount that the crib bumper was listed on online ($39 instead of the $150 marked on the packaging). Had I known the treatment I would receive at the Corte Madera location, I would have taken her up on that store credit and kept it moving. But I was told that the children's store might be able to honor the original price, and since I would have to go to Corte Madera anyway since the San Francisco location did not have baby items, I decided to just do the entire exchange in that store. Today, I drove to the Corte Madera store. The 3 saleswomen were all sitting in the back room on their iPads and looked almost annoyed to be disturbed, especially when they found out I was there for a return. When they saw the bumper I was trying to exchange, they said they have "never seen that item before," although it is in Restoration Hardware packaging with SKUs on it, that it must have been purchased "years ago," although I received it 4 days ago and was not pregnant years ago to try to return that ancient of an item. I did not receive even an ounce of the service I had received in San Francisco, and they made zero effort to help me although I had driven 40+ minutes in traffic from the city, and basically, completely unapologetically, told me that they could not do anything for me, although just 2 days ago I was told at the SF store that I could receive store credit even from that location, which did not carry children's items at all. I don't know where these items were purchased. All I know is that they were given to me less than a week ago and came with Restoration Hardware tags. All prestigious companies stand behind the product they are selling, whether it is from the new collection or the clearance section. I would have never expected any less from Restoration Hardware, but I was very wrong. The whole thing was just a very uncomfortable and humiliating experience. And I don't know about their other locations, but I will never set foot in the Corte Madera children's store ever again. read more

ZERO stars! Horrible! I'm a first time mom and i have had my heart set on my baby's nursery having the restoration hardware look. Pottery barn kids sells a similar bumper and crib skirt but I really wanted the softer pink color that restoration hardware sells instead. My husband had the day off today so today was the perfect day to complete our nursery. I called the store this morning and talked to Susan and asked her if they had they frayed ruffle bumper in the petal color and she said they did. I placed it on hold and told her I would be coming from Manteca to pick it up. I decided before making the 90 mile each way trip in the rain that I would call her back and double check that they had the frayed ruffle bumper in petal just in case. I spoke to Susan once again and confirmed again that she had the frayed ruffle bumper in petal and once again and she assured me that she did. I even made a comment that my husband would kill me if I dragged him all the way there for nothing and she said that would be horrible but yes they did in fact have what I was looking for in the store and had it on hold for me. We made the hour and forty minute trip excited to pick up my bumper and Susan pulls out a different collection??!! The manager Lucy checks the stockroom and they DO NOT have the frayed ruffle bumper in petal in stock. At this point I'm holding back tears and upset. I was so excited to finish the baby's room today. The managers Lucy and MaryLaurel apologized and offered to waive the shipping charges and honored the 20% off sale that was going on. I really don't feel like giving me the sale price that I could have got if I purchased the products online and free shipping had I not wasted my gas and whole day driving there and back in the rain was fair compensation for Susan's mistake! I will NEVER return to this store and will most likely never shop and restoration hardware again. Worst experience ever!! read more

My husband and I ordered several thousand of dollars worth of furniture from Restoration Hardware Baby and Restoration Hardware. The chair we ordered looked like it was from IKEA. It was wrinkled and looked like a 5 year old boy wearing his dad's suit. The slip cover was ill-fitting and just embarrassing. It was a disaster. The so-called matching ottoman showed up several weeks later. It was left on our doorstep, in a broken box, packed with dirty bags as the "stuffing" for the box. Further, the ottoman was also not steamed, completed wrinkled, and a different color than the chair. The matching chair and ottoman DO NOT match. And since there was no white-glove delivery, as promised, we could not protest the delivery and send it back. We ordered a bistro table. They sent an ugly white mirror instead. We ordered an expensive floor lamp. It showed up broken. The back-end delivery is deplorable. If you want items that are correct and unbroken, do NOT shop here. We are still working through RH trying to make this right. The store workers have actually been nice and willing to help, but nothing has been corrected yet. And we have wasted countless hours on the phone with RH, going into the store to make this right and waiting for the delivery of broken, incorrect items. We are expecting a baby in two months and I have ZERO confidence that any of this will be right in the next two months. I am beyond frustrated with them. After looking through the RH catalog, I decided to open a baby registry with them. I was so excited and could not wait to get my registry packet in the mail. I waited forever for the packet and almost forgot about it until it showed up in the mail months later. This is our first child and I was unsure of what to register for and how much of it would be needed. Thank goodness for Babies'R'Us having that covered. I used their guidelines for starting my registry with RH. We put our crib and bedding on the registry. I could not be more excited. My excitement died when every time I wanted to order off my registry, the item was on backorder. Even fitted crib sheets are on backorder! Our baby is due March 02nd. My mom ordered the bumper in November for Christmas. It was on backorder until end of February. She called to check on it and they assured her that it would ship on or before the February 20ish date. That day came and went and shipping notification was sent. So she called again and they informed her that it was now going to be end of March before it ships. The bed skirt that my husband's office ordered for us is also on backorder. I imagine our little one will be out of her crib before we receive any of it! Their product quality is exceptional, but I do not think I would ever recommend their registry to my friends because I am unsure I will ever see my nursery finished!!! I was skeptical of buying from RH Baby&Child due to all of the negative reviews, but couldn't stop going back to RH's website and looking at the beautiful baby furniture. I had this glorious vision of what my second daughter's room would be, and no other store came close to achieving my goal. Despite the nasty one-star reviews, I carefully selected my things (a crib, a mattress, a changing table/dresser, a rocking chair and a rug) and ordered away. My husband and I were in no rush to paint the room because I figured it would take two or three months for anything to arrive. WRONG! I quickly received a phone call to arrange delivery the following week and we had a nursery-painting party that weekend. Everything came in one shipment, the delivery guys were wonderful and everything we ordered was just as expected. We proceeded to order other things (accessories, storage baskets, bedding, etc) and everything was great! One set of drapes had a very small mark on it, but we went into the RH in town and they sent it back and we had a replacement in a few days. The exchange was super easy and the woman helping us was incredibly nice. I would absolutely recommend ordering from RH Baby&Child, and would do it again in a heartbeat. We ordered everything from the Corte Madera store. Marissa helped my husband and I with all our baby room purchases and all items came on time. Yes we had to wait couple of months for the furniture's and baby accessories but it was all worth it. The quality of there furniture is amazing.. If you are preparing for your baby's room and planning on ordering from them, do it 6 months before the baby is due so you have your items before your baby is here... I shopped here for baby gifts from a registry. I was a little surprised that the store seemed more like a showroom and not a boutique. Barely any of the baby items displayed in the store were for sale and not all baby items online were available at their warehouse. Much time was spent radioing to a stockroom to see what was available. I was happy that enough things were available to put together a nice gift, phew! Of special note, is that I arrived 15 minutes before closing and the sales associates took the time even past closing time to find everything for me and wrap everything beautifully! I really appreciated that... but RH headquarters... you need to better stock your stores!! read more

Last year I had a horrible experience with RH making misleading statements about the status of my delivery. I was told that it would arrive in 6 weeks, which turned in to about 12 weeks. After numerous phone calls and being lied to I finally got a delivery date. I was given a window for the delivery. The window passed and still no delivery. I called and was told that no matter what RH would deliver it that day to make up for all of the issues I had. I finally got a called from an angry driver telling me he wasn't delivering it that day. I had waited the entire day at home for the delivery. Eventually it was delivered on another day but there was a problem with the order - one item was incorrect. RH gave me a gift certificate given the problems. The company acknowledged that I had been lied to. Gift Certificate - I attempted to use the gift certificate on the RH site but learned you must call in or go to a store. There isn't a store in my city or the next city so going to a store is not feasible. RH said "we treat it as cash" so I must mail it in using a service that tracks at my expense. However, I can place the order with the full amount charging to my credit card. Once they receive the gift certificate they will credit my credit card. This is a terrible policy. The customer should not have to work that hard to use a gift certificate. Each one has a preprinted unique number, which means that the RH system can accept and deduct the amount from an online or telephone order. After I use my gift certificate I am kissing RH goodbye for its shady practices and lower quality products. read more

She made the shopping experience more comfortable. The craftsmanship and interior decor are high-quality. The lighting fixture options are spectacular. DO NOT have your baby registry here. I registered with RH Baby and Child and ordered most of my nursery furniture from here. There has been a problem with almost every single item. The crib was on back order for several months and did eventually arrive, and this was the best experience I had, it was all downhill from there. My family purchased me a gift off my registry in early February which they kept being told was on backorder, and they have just been emailed to say that the item is not available and their order has been cancelled, despite the fact that I have been excitedly expecting this item for 2 months. The change table pads I ordered have been on back order since I ordered them weeks ago and they cant tell me when I can expect them, even though my baby is due in a few weeks, but they have told me they have been discontinued so I may not receive them. My mum purchased me a shelf off my registry which arrived without the mounting hardware, so after me chasing them for 2 weeks trying to track down the hardware they told me to send the item back and it would be replaced with a new one. So I sent the shelf back and then received an email saying I could expect to receive the replacement in 3 months!! When I told them I didnt want that shelf anymore because I need one earlier than 3 months time they sent me a gift certificate for the value of the shelf but deducted the $19 cost of the shipping, so my mum paid for shipping on an item which was faulty which I had to go to the trouble of sending back through UPS - this was despite me calling them and telling them I expected to be refunded for postage and they were rude enough to tell me it was my fault because I "chose" to cancel the order - nevermind that they couldnt get the replacement to me within 3 months which is why I was forced to cancel! And the gift certificate they sent me in exchange for the shelf cant be used online or over the phone, so I have to post it straight back to them in order to redeem it, which is essentially like sending cash through the mail, which means I have to pay extra to send it registered mail to them so it doesnt get lost in the mail, in which case it will be worthless to me. I cant believe they dont have a better system for redeeming their gift certificates!! I also received a picture frame a friend purchased off my registry which was completely the wrong color and didnt match the description, so I had to send that back too. I recently received the replacement and its exactly the same as the first one I received - doesnt look anything like the frame pictured on the website. After being wowed by the RH baby & child catalog, I went ahead and bought some wood furniture. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was an odor coming from the dresser. I am sensitive to smells, plus this was going into a child's room. I immediately emailed the company and asked for information on the chemicals used in the production. 3-days later I received the MSDS sheet from the manufacturer. It may meet our country's regulations, but anytime workers are required to wear gas masks in the production process, that kinda scares me for kids furniture. Back it went. Restoration Hardware, come on, lead the way!!!! Take a page from current furniture manufacturers that are creating healthier, non-off-gassing, low or no-VOC finishes. I ordered a crochet linen duvet cover and shams along with some quilted shams in October. Some of the order arrived 2 days ago after numerous calls to the store for information on arrival dates and requests for information. I was told this is "just the way it is" as they have no control over vendors. I was told that Meg Alderson the associate store leader would call the next day but I never heard from her. They were promised by a certain date upon ordering and within a week received an email that the items were back ordered by 2 months. It was incredibly embarasssing for me and frustrating to have to choose new bedding last minute because we needed something for when the baby arrived and couldn't be promised that our bedding would arrive within 6 MONTHS!!! I am simply in shock at how this place is still in business!!!!!! They have a beautiful selection of furniture as long as you don't expect to receive it anytime in the near future. My mother-in-law and I decided to get the furniture for my son's nursery here and have had nothing but problems since the day we ordered!!! First of all, some of the things we ordered were on back order which was fine because we started this process in February, so we made a post ship date of May 1st (two months before my due date). A few weeks after we put our order in I received one of the pieces, turns out they had our one big order split into multiple orders and hadn't added the post ship date to all of them. Then when they finally were supposed to start shipping everything I didn't receive anything until the end of May. When the order did come we received a changing table with no pad, a chair with no slipcover (just the base and cushions), and our matress for the crib had multiple holes in it. I called customer service and told them this was unacceptable, they told me I couldn't get a new matress until mid July (baby is due in June), and that it would be the end of June for my changing pad and slipcover. I called the store in corte Madera and spoke to Kim (the person we have been dealing with this whole time, and is supposedly the manager) she found me a temporary matress, and a changing pad they had in stock, she even delivered them herself, which was very nice. She then told me that she would give me a call in the next few days to update me on my new mattress and my slipcover, I haven't heard from her since!!! That was three weeks ago!! I have tried calling her multiple times and left messages, but she refuses to call me or my mother-in-law back!! Last week I did finally receive my matress, but still no slipcover, I'm due in a week!!!!!!!! This is the most ridiculous form of customer service I have ever received!!!!!!!!! This place needs so much help. I love the look, the ideas, the absolute gorgeous displays and the idealism that hey, maybe one day my home could actually look like a perfect little human who appreciates fine architecture and high quality linens inhabits the space...who would never uncontrollably barf on anything... First - no one picks up the phone during business hours. Last time I checked this was a very basic part of customer service. It literally rang until the phone line died. This is the second time I've returned a gift that was ordered online for me that didn't work out. They give you a pink slip and say the credit will be mailed back to your home address. The first time, they credited the account of the person who gave me the gift (thanks a lot for making me look like a jerk) and the second time...I GOT NOTHING!! Nothing. No credit, no credit back to the person who bought it. They just ran away with $300+! Since no one ever picked up at the Baby store, I called the main store. There, my order number brought up an order for someone named Mary Lou. Nope. Nope. Nope. Finally call their customer service in Dallas and she tells me the order number is MISSING a digit. WTFF?!? Been on the phone over an hour and Dallas tries to reach the store (the dang RH Baby store employee even hung up on their own customer service center!!!!) and still nothing resolved. HORRIBLE! I just spoke to Lisa on the phone. I asked her specifically if she had a certain item in stock and she said no. Then she managed to inform me that their store is just a gallery/display store. She can only show me the swatches but I would still have to order online and pay for shipping. I asked her if shipping would be waived if I ordered in store. She said no. Then why the heck would I want to come in?? To see a silly swatch book? Then she said, Well I do have some of the items and laughed. I asked her again, I thought you said there were no tents. She said, I told you I could only show you swatches. Omg serious, lady? Having swatches of an item doesn't mean you actually have the item in store! She said the reason for the store front is for customers to obtain more product knowledge. Not from you, lady. You are not that bright at all. And I would rather read product information online than waste my time going in store if you don't have the actual item! Ridiculous! read more

I recently ordered something from RH Baby&Child online and paid extra for two day delivery. It was supposed to have arrived by December 14th 2013 as per the order confirmation . When December 18th 2013 arrived and I still had not received my package I called to inquire. They informed me that because I ordered monograming it only shipped on the 18th. I explained this was a birthday present and I paid extra to get it delivered on-time and as per the order confirmation they provided. They explained the extra time for the monograming doesn't get indicated at the time of order. In short, their customer service was unwilling to do anything for me. What a disappointment! For my child especially!!! In today's day and age when customer service is so transparent I'm surprised they would risk their reputation in light of THEIR wrong doing. Oh my Goodness!!! Who even still shops in this store? Not only is it totally overpriced ( silly pillow costs over $100 and only a SMALL pillow cover costs over $40 ) but the service is horrendous!!! It takes so long to get anything done in this store!!! Last time I was there with my husband the stuff had a meeting and while I was walking around trying to get someone's attention ( and listening to their meeting ABOUT customer service ) I felt completely ignored! I am 7 months pregnant and I felt completely invisible!!! And when FINALLY one lady came up to us she had the hardest time helping us - her little iPad was not working, she was all confused etc... Complete waste of our time... Let me just say - I will never go to this store again and the only reason I did go was a gift certificate I wanted to use up... To tell you the truth, the $100 gift card is not worth my time though so I will just re-give it... I didn't find anything worth buying for the price anyway!!! so disappointed - wow!!! Do NOT buy the A-Frame tent if you have small children. Seriously. First of all, it is a bad design: the bottom of the A-frame does not connect so the legs splay apart arbitrarily and unsafely. Also, the window on the side is PERFECT for a 2yo head to stick through and not very well. So, they could get caught and choke. Secondly... not only is the design bad, but the quality is poor. The joints are not well put together and within 15 minutes, the bolts and hardware were coming loose. I wish they had reviews on their website.. I would write this there so other gift buyers don't make the same mistake. (sigh) read more

I never have, ever have, written a review before but for this I must! Last Christmas, I wanted to purchase the wooden rocking horse for my baby daughter as special heirloom piece. It was already quite pricy, but I was willing to make that purchase for such a special gift. When I removed it from the box, I noticed bits of sawdust, didn't think too much of it. I put it away in my closet to bring out on Christmas. When I took it out, there was piles of sawdust wood pieces. I inspected the underside and found some sort of wood eating insects inside the wood. I was horrified! I called them to tell them about the situation. The customer representative was very impersonal, like it was nothing unusual and not apologetic. She said I can ship it back. I then realized this was meant I was going to have to pay for the return shipping She said I was going to need to drive it to a Restoration Hardware Baby and Child store. She had no other solution to the problem after I told her there is no RH baby and child where I live. I asked if it be possible to take it to a RH store and she said I can call and see if they would take it. My husband ended up driving 1 hour to a Restoration Hardware store to return it. He explained the situation to a sales associate who said it couldn't be returned there. He had to speak to the manager. We ended up returning it after all but what an ordeal. They didn't offer any sort of apology but even more astounding was the impersonal care in showing no understanding of this situation. The lack of customer service was crazy! Not to mention, the shipping price is so expensive. I cringe every time I get to the checkout and see the shipping costs. Then, I exit the checkout screen and think otherwise about even buying it. Wow - consistently terrible shopping and customer service experiences. We ordered a few items for our nursery in early September. The majority of the items were on back order, including our $650+ rug. The expected delivery date of the rug was 10/18, then 11/9, then they just deleted the date completely and we had to call to see if we could expect it before our baby's arrival. The rug finally came, didn't work in our nursery, and we returned it to the new store in Santa Monica. Since then, we have had to call the customer service line 3 times and still haven't received a credit. If you want to spend months wondering if your furniture will arrive before your baby's arrival, time on the phone trying to figure out when your order will actually arrive, and more time calling customer service reps about returns so you actually receive your money back, shop at RH Baby! As a busy professional, I just don't have the time or patience to do this, and shouldn't have to given that this isn't a discount furniture store. read more

If you have to return something pay close attention to your credit card statement to make sure that the refund hits your account. After a year long remodel and countless RH orders, I am sad to say that I had not been watching my credit card statement, and called time and time again, I would NOT have received roughly $2,000 in funds that should have been credited to me. When I've called, I've gotten multiple stories ("the return got cancelled in our system," "the refund was never initiated" "it's on it's way" (but, I had to call again, multiple times.) For a brand like RH, a glitch like this needs to ironed out. I've spent countless hours on the phone with polite staff chasing down returns and credits. Not ok, just not ok - especially when you want to be perceived as a high end brand. Infuriating. And, when I've asked to speak with someone to provide some feedback about the process, in hopes of improving the overall experience, I've been told that they don't have a "feedback" department. Guess they think they don't need one. I'd beg to differ. read more

I would never recommend this store to anyone. Such a frustrating situation. You go in the store, so very excited about your baby on the way. Wanting the best stuff possible. Registering all the goodies. To have the woman leave in the middle of registering and handing it off to another sales woman who can barely work the iPad. Whatever, no big deal. I'm learning patience. Went over pricing minimally. Which now makes sense why they wouldn't talk about. Going back to look at my registry (which I still to this day have NO access to) there are "membership" prices and standard proves. A 25% difference! That's pretty huge when you are discussing furniture and everything that comes with it. It's just a bummer. When mentioned to the sales woman over the phone, she was very condescending. Please, we are not cheap people. Clearly! We're shopping at restoration hardware for goodness sakes. I just don't like to feel scammed or BS'ed. Not good business. I am not ordering half the things I wanted because I'm over this store. Ordered the baby bumper and and blankets and pillows only to find out that the pillows are not included in the pillow "sham" price! Lol is this is joke? I ordered the pillows. Nope, I should've "known" they were just shams, said the saleswoman. Just a crappy experience quite honestly. I have about 4 girlfriends pregnant right now and none of them will be purchasing anything from your store. No thanks. Scammers. Crappy customer service. Snobby. Shady. Believe the bad reviews!!!!
