Rhea has been there every step of the way as an agent, which I will elaborate on below, but it wasn't until recently with the Covid crisis among us that she stepped up into a non-agent role and offered to donate to the non-profit I work for. Rhea's office not only donated to help homeless families and victims of domestic violence, she raised awareness and got neighboring offices to do the same. To say she went above and beyond as a State Farm agent, local business owner, and community member is an understatement. For her role as my agent, I could never go back to having another! This office took state farm to a new level for me. I recently got in an accident at night and was able to text my agent directly for 2 hours and Rhea walked thru any steps needed. Recently moved to the DC area from CA, where I had a State Farm agent who was so on top of things that it almost felt like he was bugging me to let him help me. After doing our best to weed through what little information I could find on local State Farm agents, I decided to go with Rhea because she seemed to offer the best customer service. After all, what good does insurance do if your agent isn't responsive? I never had a chance to go into the office to work with Rhea and her staff in person, but you would think that these days switching insurance from one region to another (and at the same company) wouldn't be hard to do electronically. Evidently, it was. It took several attempts to get my address listed correctly on our policy documents, and several tries to get my policies switched over on the dates we requested. At the time, Rhea told me they were in the middle of some staff upheaval, so I figured I'd cut them some slack and let all of that go. Fast forward to last week when a deer decided to run into the side my car when my wife was driving home from work. We submitted our claim online that night. We also sent an email to Rhea and her staff letting them know that we'd submitted our claim, and that we were hoping they could guide us through the claims process, including what would or wouldn't be covered. A claims specialist responded to our online claim within the hour. It took Rhea's staff one full week to respond to our email. (Rhea never called or responded herself.) By then, we'd switched our body shop and already got an estimate for the repairs, but her staff's response was clearly based on outdated information. (It also informed us that a claims specialist usually responds within 24 hours... great news a week after we made the claim!) I don't believe in giving 1 star to anyone unless it's truly an awful experience, so they get 2 stars for what's certainly been a disappointing one. read more

I started my own business and didn't know how to handle the insurance part of the process. Rhea has been tremendously helpful from the get-go. She is prompt, knowledgeable, doesn't get annoyed when I ask her to re-explain things I don't understand, and does excellent follow-up. She even served as the negotiator between me and another company for a particular contract, which was hugely helpful. Rhea will never try to sell someone something that she believes is not a good deal. She ran a number of quotes for me and told me where State Farm could provide better value, and where it could not. She is objective when it comes to making recommendations. Plus, she is the only agent I have come across who regularly holds weekend hours. Stay away from this place unless you have a lot of time and patience on your hands and really (let me emphasize, REALLY) do not care about customer service. It started when I called them first time to transfer my car insurance policy from a different state to their location. I had to call multiple times leaving voice mails in order to speak to someone hours later. Then they kept on calling back asking for the same information twice, wrote down wrong phone number, etc. I should have stopped there! Anyway, I did eventually got my insurance policy transferred to their office and they mailed me my cards. A few weeks later, I emailed Rhea directly (early AM) to ask for a quote for my condo and a storage unit. Hours later - no response. I called the office early afternoon - the fellow who answered the call hang up on me as soon as I finished asking him a question. I called back - no one answered the phone. Infuriated, I called for the third time - a woman answered the call and said that my first call was dropped (!!!). After I asked her for the quote, she said: "Ok, I just e-mailed it to you"... with no further information she hang up on me. I checked my e-mail - indeed, there was an e-mail from her - a blank e-mail with NO attachments (btw, her name is Edith Mejia). Well, that was it for me! I called them to cancel my insurance with them and to transfer it to another State Farm office. Same fellow answered a call and said he could not do it himself and Rhea will call me in a few minutes... 30 minutes later - nothing. I called again, this time Edith answered the phone. When I asked her about a promised 'few minutes' wait for a call back, she exclaimed: "Who told you that?????". She then proceeded telling me that Rhea is with a customer and will not be free for another 1.5 hours! She did actually later resent an e-mail with a quote for a condominium; no storage unit was mentioned there. Needless to say, no one called me back. I ended up contacting a corporate customer service representative in order to change the insurance agent. In the past 15 years, I lived in 5 states and moved my insurance with State Farm from one place to another and this is the first time to have such an awful experience. Interestingly, after 5 PM, I received an e-mail from Rhea saying "sorry" and to call her cell to discuss; also she was going to take care of the quote from the morning herself the next day (!!!)....sweet, yet still unprofessional and way too late! All way around, awful experience, wasted time and needless frustration - do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I also wonder whoever posted all these glowing reviews are actually real customers of this office....my experience with them is surely not unique. read more

If you don't want to deal with unprofessional staff/agents do not sign up with this State Farm office. They can't process simple requests without making it a huge ordeal. Just one example: We requested some simple changes to our policy regarding changing the primary driver from me to my husband months ago and come to find out that although they assured us the changes were made, they weren't. We had to call State Farm's 1-800 number just to get it straightened out, the corporate office actually took our side in the compliant and apologized profusely. This office definitely has a problem with listening to their clients and seems to be only interested in upselling and trying to add on to your policy despite the fact you refuse every time. read more

I contacted Mrs. Baker on Friday, 5 July 2013 at or about 5:30 pm because a relative was closing on a new home on July 8. Mrs. Baker had left work but spoke with me. Moreover, that very evening--mind you it was after her regular work hours--she went to the home that was being purchased to evaluate its state. Mrs. Baker had to drive some 15 miles through heavy traffic to do so. At or about 8:30 pm Mrs. Baker rang me to inform me that she would insure the home.
