Always a go to when in Leavenworth. Don't skip the giant pretzel Much better than the regular ones on the menu IMO in regards to crispy outside and chewy inside. If you sit outside you order at the counter after selecting your table-pay attention to your table number as you will need it when ordering. Recently came here for lunch while in Leavenworth. Got the giant pretzel with beer cheese to share - it was very good, and the leftovers the following day still tasted great. Also got the falafel wrap and a side salad. My family member was interested in ordered a blended drink as listed on the menu, but she was informed that their machine was broken. That's unfortunate, especially since it was quite toasty outside. We had ordered everything all at once, but they must have forgotten the pretzel. Once our main entrees arrived, we had to ask for the pretzel again as it hadn't been brought out. Not a huge deal, but we thought it was a slight inconvenience that you have to go up and order your food, and pay, instead of a server coming over to take your order. Maybe it's just meant to be more casual? My family member also had to go up to someone at the bar and ask for a drink refill. It was hard to flag someone down. So yummy! Get the loaded fries (poutine). The gravy is so flavorful and so are the cheese curds! We got both the all beef frankfurter and the cheesy habanero bratwurst. Both were fantastic and really tasty! We ended up going twice! I learned the second time, instead of ordering loaded fries, upgrade your side to loaded fries. We had way too much food the first time and perfect amount the second time! Also recommend coming here in the summer! In the winter it's beautiful with fire pits, but packed. In the summertime it's easy to grab a table and enjoy your meal! You order at the counter but we still had our waiter check in on us and grab us condiments. OK please don't come here if you expect a decent German schnitzel, cause good luck finding meat in between that breading. When we asked the server, she just said it's German inspired and therefore, always not much meat in there. She took the plate and threw the food out, we assumed we'll get a new plate. Nothing happened and we walked over and she was like, no replacement was placed, the manager did the right thing and refunded the dish and he also didn't seem too surprised. Seems to be a common complaint? Note to the owner, if you don't want to put meat in the schnitzel, don't serve it or make it more expensive to cover the cost so people get food and not fried breading. How service is dealing with issues is also important, especially when problems are clearly known. German inspired doesn't mean serving subpar food is ok, but I guess in a town like this, a couple complaints don't matter, plenty more people are coming. If you decide to come here, stay with the sausage or american food and enjoy the nice outdoor patio. Skip the German stuff please. read more

Super fun patio view, great table for larger parties. The servers were friendly, we waited in a line tor maybe 15 minutes, then you get seated either indoor or outdoors, and order at the counter. We came from California and were disappointed with the service. I guess when you pay and tip upfront, you shouldn't expect too much. We arrived around 5:45 PM on a hot summer day, but were only given small cups of water. No one checked on our table to ask if everything was okay, and there was only two table inside indoor table (not even busy) and even when our cups were empty, they were never refilled. During a trip to Leavenworth, Washington, we wanted to try traditional German food, and this restaurant came highly recommended. It did not disappoint. Located in the center of town, it offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with fire pits to keep you warm. The service was fantastic, and everyone was friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and the atmosphere is very casual, but the food was excellent. The bratwurst was delicious and the Nutella beignets were a must try. Came here while visiting the area with some girlfriends as this place is well known for their giant pretzel. It was a hot day so it was nice that the seating area outside had mists of water being sprayed. I will say the guy at the table next to ours was getting drenched by it, but ours was working fine so it was refreshing! The table was a picnic style table so the place is great for groups (there were 7 of us). Even better, it's a fast casual restaurant so you order and pay at the counter before you get your food which helps with one less bill to split among a group. To drink I ordered the Sage Hills drink. To eat I ordered The Classic with no bun and the side salad. As a group we shared the giant pretzel. The food came out fast and it was great! The side salad was better than expected and the pretzel was good with the cheese dip and then also the chocolate dip. The pretzel was soft and hot. The bratwurst I ordered was good, very filling surprisingly. The spicy peppers had a little kick but not too spicy, which I very much appreciate. The Sage Hills drink I ordered was delicious! Okay, got here earlier today and was able to enjoy some crispy hot moist chicken wings. The sauce was a sweet hot chili. This is a very relaxed environment and it is kid friendly as well. I'm thinking the bartender was thinking about my drink the 'Separator' overnight as he went right to it and made it spot on picture perfect today. The menu changes seasonally so be prepared for something new. As for now, I'm enjoying the libations and will order an additional batch of wings for the Mrs and I to enjoy back at our room. read more

We are locals (four of us) and sat outside last week, Sunday night. The waitress was pretty rude to us all evening. The host guy, too, seemed put out. It felt like we were bothering them by even being there. We asked for silverware, which annoyed them. At one point we asked to move to a table with some shade (there were plenty open and no wait line to get in), and that definitely annoyed her. We were nice and not overly needy, but I think they were pretty tired of people by Sunday night. Side note: I asked for a burger without dairy, hoping for no cheese, and I got a burger with no bun, which is great - but that would have been nice to have known that ahead of time - I would have ordered something else. I know they got a ton of tourists, and they paid them in get them through, so being tired is understandable. Just smile and a greeting would be nice. And maybe check on the table once. read more

Came here to say after strolling through Leavenworth, been here last time I was in the area but that was around 4 years ago. Still looks the same wood tables and style which feels pretty cozy. It's counter to table service, they sat us down and we ordered up at the bar. We wrote down everyone's food and showed the server, however he missed one of our orders which was my mom's and we had to wait a while for her food to come ): I was already almost done with my food and she had barely gotten hers. The server did not repeat the order so I think there was just some miscommunication. But the food was pretty good. I enjoyed my meal which was the classic on a beef frankfurter and fries. The wurst plates are pretty filling and tasty on its own. My husband got the munich with on a bratwurst with a salad (the salad was really good, dressing was tasty) the table comes with 3 types of mustard, I liked the sweet hot one. Also no one gave us utensils... I thought they provide that at least but we went up to go get them, all they provided was waters. Also, no one checked up on us regarding if we enjoyed our food or if we were missing anything. I thought the service was lacking except the person who delivered our food, he was the nicest out of all. Food was pretty good, service was okay which is why I'm giving it only 3 stars. read more

It's modified table service where you order at the bar and they later bring your food to the table. I brought up concerns to the waiter and he said I would be hard pressed to find homemade German food in town. What?!? Turns out he was right. Giant pretzel 10/10! Perfectly sufficient as a light lunch for two or a great appetizer for many. It was warm and the beer cheese was great. The staff was pretty friendly but there was a wait even though the tables were fairly empty and not much of a view of the mountains. They have many things listed as "gluten free" but it's all cooked on the same stovetop that is not cleaned between gluten and gluten-free items so it is not actually fully gluten free. I was gluttened at this restaurant and will not return for food. The place where you order food on the rooftop area was not very knowledgeable about cross contamination which was frustrating. read more

Five of us dined here for a week night in June, and we were able to be seated pretty quickly. We tried to sit outside at first, but it was still pretty warm, so we asked to be moved inside.
