My friend really wanted to visit this spot in Leavenworth, specifically for their wine flights, and I see why. The flight was a little over $20, and we got five pours that were selected by the staff at the front desk. They chose great varieties -- a good mix of dry and sweet wines from different European countries, which made the tasting feel well-rounded. I liked that the staff brought the orders directly to the table instead of calling out numbers, especially since the place was pretty loud with all the commotion of people being seated. The layout was also nice: There is an upstairs and a downstairs, with upstairs set up for larger groups, and downstairs geared toward dates, or smaller parties of four or fewer. There is a clean bathroom, but it is located upstairs. Do not go downstairs to look for it because you will end up wandering toward the kitchen area lol We also got the schnitzel, which was uniquely hung -- something that I have not seen. It came with two different cheeses, and I really wish that had been labeled on the plate. Not a big issue, but I like to know exactly what I am eating. Meanwhile, the wine flights had a little written card on the side to specific which pour was what flavor. Where do we begin.. When you come in, the place looks nice, pretty and welcoming. You order and they walk you to the table upstairs. If you have more than 4 people you get the same table and chairs you'd get at your local church. Whatever. Now let's talk about the food. Mediocre at best, and I'm being generous. Luke warm pretzels, a very disappointing pizza that looks like a $5 frozen pizza from the store and retirement home apple cider. Despite all the negatives, they managed to make it even worse by taking forever to bring up the food. Not all at the same time either, but one item at a time and 10 mins in between each pretzel and pizzas after already waiting for half an hour for anything to arrive. Managed to screw up an order, too and when asked for another half of pizza to be boxed in so we can take it with us, they brought it to the table, not boxed and gave an attitude when we asked them to box it again for the second time. Ambiance: Cozy and wooden structure similar to a cabin, two stories with elevator access to the second floor if needed. Service: loved the guidance we had with choosing our flights. I went for a little drive in the countryside to commemorate the event and ended up here in the alpine splendor of Leavenworth. an angry hot midday sun left me needing refreshment and sustenance and since I've been eating mostly goodly I figured a sausage wouldn't be too much for my delicate constitution... took a long look at the cider board before deciding on a delightful little low-carb clear cider to wash down a hot and spicy brat. got a seat at the bar for convenience and my lunch arrived shortly; snappily cased sausage with bits of hot pepper on a nice crusty roll with condiments on the side. hot and juicy enough to ruin a shirt if you're not careful just so you know... chips are chips are chips but they're fresh out, crunchy, and plentiful. kraut is warm and saur and I kinda wish there was more but then I'd be nearly 84% full and that would be too much ;-) menus are a little spendy like everything and everywhere so that's a push. the ladies are cheerful, good natured and clever and the food is quite good. the ordering process is a bit involved and non-bar seating is assigned... but if them's the worst things that happen all week we're doing alright. read more

That's when it gets extensively busy and crowded. Still had to walk a ways to get to this place so be sure you are able to as I believe the street it's on is primarily for pedestrians. When I got into Leavenworth Cider House I realized it wasn't really it's own cidery but it was a cidery filled with guest taps from mostly nearby cideries. Wenatchee and Lake Chelan put have some wonderful cideries and I felt fortunate some of those were on tap here. The place is very spacious as it has an upstairs where you can sit as well and I love the wooded look inside. Staff was extremely friendly, fast and helpful in everything they did. Good stop... the only thing I wished for for anything different was that they would make their own cider.. Even if it was just one... and perhaps maybe they do but it wasn't available and on tap when I paid my visit. read more

I've been to visit this town 4 times in the last few years and every time I stop in for a Cider and sometimes a bite to eat. This time I helped myself to a draft Ace Pineapple cider and a huge Hit Honey Habanero pretzel. I've had them both before and I quite enjoy them both. The pretzel is drizzled with honey and sprinkled with bites of orange tidbits that are, in actuality, bits of Habanero!! There are two little cups of melted beercheese. The pretzel itself is nice and soft with a light Sprinkle of course salt. Not much salt as there is also Habanero sprinkled on it. I also enjoy the way the pretzel is plated. It is served on a cutting board with the beer cheese in between the pretzel loops so they resend eyes! There is also a fork and knife so it can be eaten without creating too big of a mess. read more

Overall, the ciders are plentiful and run the gamut of flavors, so get a flight or glass and enjoy. They take your order and carry your drinks to your table and food comes along in a bit. Had a bratwurst myself and it was decent. I would have preferred if the garlic spread was inside the bun instead of on top just for the messiness of it. The sauerkraut was so mild to almost not be considered kraut in my opinion, but that means the vast majority of people can easily eat it. They do have a 1/2 pizza on cauliflower crust for those with celiac (and all ciders are GF too). Pretty tasty and didn't have that cauliflower taste you can sometimes get. The Leavenworth Cider House is, without fail, either the first or last place that we visit in Leavenworth. It makes a great bookend experience, on either side of a weekend getaway. The communal atmosphere is warm and welcoming; it feels like a home away from home. It even fills the void left by the unused Festhalle, during seasons other than Oktoberfest. They've got things dialed down in here. We always pop in to order a flight of the rotating list of seasonal and staple ciders, ales and beers. Flights consist of five *healthy* pours, selected by yourself from the 30-odd choices available on the board behind the bar, each entry being color coded to indicate its level of sweetness. The servers and bartenders are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, and once you've placed your order (plus some delicious food or snacks, of course!), you're given a number and escorted to a table, with your drink selections arriving shortly afterward. I've never had a bad drink here, but your experience is definitely going to vary, depending on your selections, and familiarity with your own palate. For the uninitiated though, the servers have got your back, and can help guide you towards more user-friendly selections. Again, the flight is the best choice, as you don't have to commit to something you might not like, and you can start to feel out the various levels of sweetness, dryness, spiciness (yuss!), bitterness, etc, that are compatible with your preferences. Leavenworth (and really Germany/Germans) love their beers but personally I prefer cider. I was surprised to see that Leavenworth had its own cider house and I wanted to try it out. This place is in the middle of the main Leavenworth area and is a convenient stop if you're looking for a drink. There is a huge board that displays all their offerings as well as their flavor profiles, ranging from dry to semi-sweet to sweet. Because there are 30 options to choose from and I'm indecisive I decided to go the safer route and ordered the cider flight. You can pick any 5 flavors and each is 4oz. My flight was $18 but yours can vary based on the ones that you pick. My picks were: tieton bourbon barrel peach (#1), incline lemonade tea (#12), one tree huckleberry (#13), 2 towns easy raspberry lemonade squeezy (#17), channel marker blueberry lemon (#19). They were all good and ranging from slightly sweet to tart and were very easy to drink. Flavors of note for me were that the blueberry lemon was slightly tart but sweet from the blueberry and that the huckleberry was slightly sweet and my favorite of the five. We came back the next day before leaving Leavenworth and got a couple pretzels. They were nice and chewy and although they were pretty salty the dipping sauces helped with that, and if it is too salty for your taste you can always take some of the salt off the pretzel. This place is actually huge as there's an entire second floor that's full of tables. The other cool thing is that they have art hanging on the wall all across the building and if you want one of them you just pay the artist via Venmo and just take it off the wall. This place has a great social atmosphere and good if you're looking to get away from all the beer. read more
