After walking around the yard to look over the project and later, sending my drawing of what I was looking for in greater detail he came back with an estimate. Glad to say I was sitting down when I saw it. After talking with the wife we decided to scale back the project to just the patio, but have I.L.D. supply us with enough Flagstone for us to do the pathways on our own as time and energy permit. We did custom remodeling work for 14 years since my forced retirement in 2003, but decided to completely retire in 2018, so the budget was a major concern. David's revised estimate was still more than we expected, but knowing the amount of labor involved, we agreed on the price. David's crew was able to start on our place the following Tuesday and completed the job by the next Monday after that. I was happy with the professionalism his crew displayed and the attention to details that made a difference in the end product. I was impressed with the stone-work, and the respect shown to our property by all the workers. The crew supervisor did suggest a change to the job after digging out for the stonework, that increased the total area. It made a lot of sense so David and I quickly came to an agreement on the adjustment that was reasonable. I highly recommend David and I.L.D. for this kind of work.

The open areas where the white pipes are will be filled with raised bed planter boxes that are being built now. From the start, Hill was helpful and patient. I originally wanted to install artificial grass in a few areas but realized it was not in the budget. Nathan re-worked the project and whittled it down to what we could afford. There was a lot of back and forth conversations along the way and Nathan always followed up in a timely manner. The job started and finished on time despite the weather's attempts to derail things. Every employee Hill sent onsite was courteous and helpful. Due to a scheduling conflict we couldn't compete the last phase of filling the planter beds because they're still being built. I did have to pay a small fee for canceling, but regardless everything was professionally handled, including a final visit by Nathan and Hugo to review the work and ensure I was satisfied. I would recommend Hill for landscape projects and will use them again in the future. They are booked several months out right now, as are other contractors, so plan ahead if possible.

I hired this company for a concrete project, and the overall experience was frustrating. During the…read morework, large sections of my yard were torn up. Sod was removed and thrown on top of other grass, trenches were left open, and several sprinkler zones were damaged and responsibility was not taken. My yard wasn't perfect before, but it was grass, not loose dirt, mud, and scattered dead patches. To their credit, they did come back and refill the trenches, restore the holes, and fix the sprinkler issues after I pointed them out. However, I had to rearrange my own plans to be present and make sure the repairs were actually done, which shouldn't be necessary if things were handled correctly the first time. Even after the repairs, the side yard was not returned to its original condition. I attached photos of before they came and after the job. The removed sod was not properly replanted, the area was left uneven, and instead of actual sod replacement I was told they would "drop hybrid seed," which is not a proper fix for sod that was removed or destroyed. The photos show exactly how my yard was left. While the concrete itself turned out fine after coming back to fix mistakes, the landscaping/restoration side of the job fell far below professional standards. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company for concrete or landscaping work.

He is gifted at managing the project to meet the final vision and being receptive to any questions or concerns. We received daily communication to understand what was completed that day and what was next. Our yard was sloped and lumpy, and quite depressing. We really wanted some privacy and to level the yard for playing. All while managing any drainage issues that could arise. Jerry drew up a full master design, and we were blown away with the creativity and consideration he obviously put into it. From there, we started narrowing the project to fit into our budget. The scope of work included a full front and back yard renovation including new sod, a patio addition, pergola, lighting, irrigation and drainage, outdoor kitchen, and all new plants/stone borders.
