We paid them according to the schedule of payment in the contracts. We found out after 2 of the jobs were "completed" and the 3rd (our personal residence) was 2/3 paid for and the material was put on the roof, that the first 2 permits had not had inspections and our home HAD NO PERMIT ISSUED AT ALL !! We have now received a plethora of lien notices from subcontractors, material suppliers, and others that we didn't even know existed. (we were told that no subcontractors would be used) Apparently, they take the money and never pay their suppliers or subcontractors. We now will be forced to defend ourselves legally for jobs that we paid for in good faith. that these 3rd parties have placed liens against our properties. I have also since had an expert inspect all 3 properties, and there are serious workmanship issues with the ones that are "finished" and our residence is only partially done. They predict water intrusion from unfinished/improper work. Possible complete removal may be required due to no inspections!!!!!!!!
