Clynn didn't add on a complex inspection. He said he's learned over 30+ years that if a leach field has problems, there will be scum rings in the access, so he watched for those, and also checked for holes in the tank by looking over the floor for dirt having fallen in. Clynn advised that a plumber could easily fix the one hole in our tank with patching cement, or we could do it ourselves (and gave instructions). He offered valuable plumbing counsel about changes we were making to our drain and septic lines. A competitor recommended we put in an entire new tank and leach field in our situation. (They offer tanks and leach field installations through a partner.) It would have cost $6,000-$10,000, and required extensive yard renovation. When we asked the county health department that oversees septic systems about our needs, they said our situation should actually not require major work. We added a significant tip onto Clynn's fee, and wanted to also pass along a hearty recommendation!!

I still feel bad about the way I must've spoken to Lance when he promptly returned my voicemail that morning. Nevertheless, he was overly patient and accommodating. I wanted to avoid having yet another contractor come out to look at the set up and pitch me a bid that was way outside reasonable to replace a standard 50 gallon water heater. Lance cut right to it. He told me the price over the phone which was right on par with what I was expecting to pay. I asked about scheduling fully expecting to be at least 2-3 weeks out, but he said he would squeeze me in that afternoon. I was completely beside myself thinking it had to be too good to be true. Lance asked me to send him pictures of my current setup so his installer could make sure he had the necessary parts before he arrived. Sure enough, the installer showed up in the early afternoon with everything he needed. It took him a whole 45 minutes and my water heater nightmare was fixed. I gladly sent the agreed upon amount to Lance via Venmo. My showers are hot and I am no longer losing sleep worrying whether or not the bottom was going to fall out of my water heater flooding my basement. When Josh arrived he got right down to work and replaced my faulty circuit breakers. He also found an old problem with an exposed wire that had been hidden with electrical tape and fixed that. He then put the dryer back and made sure everything was working. Tec Electric went above and beyond and I am a satisfied customer.

The good: Called…read moreon a Sunday night due to a sewer clog / backup. He answered the phone, said he would be out first thing in the morning to help. He showed up when he said he would, quickly got our drain unclogged, and all was well. He did a camera scope and let me watch to see other issues with the drain. Generally, he did what he said he would do, and showed up when he said he would be there (quite early on a Monday morning). He then stated we really needed to jet out the drain, and this is where things started downhill. The not so good: The price he quoted to jet out our pipe was outrageous. In fairness, in the end he charged us just for the cost of the pipe jetting, instead of both the jet and the emergency service call, but overall, he is overpriced. I called at least two other plumbing places to compare costs and both were cheaper. When all this happened our house was under contract to be purchased. We informed our buyers of the sewage backup, and they wanted to speak to Rhino Rooter to get more information. He refused to speak with them without our permission, which I appreciate. However, even after giving permission, he refused to give the buyers any useful information without asking them to pay for it, and was rude and disrespectful to them. In the end, the deal fell apart with the purchase of our house at least partially due to how he treated the buyers. Fast forward - we decided to go ahead and fully repair the issues with the pipe. Rhino Rooter had marked the pipe locations, so we brought a company in to start digging, but the pipes were not where he had marked. I called him to see if he would come out and recheck his marks, but he refused to do so without charging me again. He was extremely rude and did not want to be helpful at all. I also asked if he could give me the video of the camera scope that he took, but claimed he didn't take a video and didn't save it (because that's not the service I paid for), and that he would charge me to come do another one with video. I called someone else and they provided a scope of the pipe, video recording, professional report, marked all the lines, were very friendly and helpful, and were cheaper than Rhino Rooter (even after a $75 travel fee because they were so far away). Bottom line: If you have an emergency, Rhino Rooter will come out quickly and deal with your issue. However, I would rather wait longer for someone else to come than to use him again. His rudeness and unwillingness to help is something that I will not deal with again. I will keep my sewer backed up for another few days if needed before I would call him. I would NOT recommend him to anyone for plumbing needs. There are cheaper options, with quality work, who are friendly and helpful.

They took my call right away, said they understood my urgency and would see if they could get someone to me quickly. It turned out they were able to do so! The fellas they sent worked quickly and described the issue along with giving some tips on how to prevent the issue from reoccurring. By 1pm on Monday afternoon my water heater was back up and running! All told I was charged $180 and I'd do it again given the circumstances.
