I was a patient of Dr Goldhaber for the past year. From the very beginning, she came off as…read morecold/dismissive. From her notes, you can tell that she was very opinionated and let her ego get the best of her. After my first two visits, I should've run! But I didn't because I wanted to give her the benefit of a doubt. Even my ethnicity was changed on my paperwork after submitting it to her which I found very strange (I'm a latina) and she noted my mental health status at the very top of my patient file instead of treating it as a process of elimination. During my exam, she stated that I had "give way" effort like I was faking my weakness. I would often provide examples of my struggles in my day-to-day life. It didn't make a difference. I spoke to an office manager about how she acted towards me and she seemed to be a little nicer during my next visit. Unfortunately, that didn't really make much of a difference since it was clear that she didn't believe a single word I said. I was diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus by imaging (still untreated), radiculopathy and POTS while under her care. Despite this, she didn't continue to monitor my brain condition or even care about my symptoms as they got increasingly worse at a very rapid pace. She'd throw pills at me and hope they treat the symptom but she didn't seem interested in treating the cause. The final straw was when I messaged her last week and shortly after wound up in the ER for heart palpitations and tachycardia. I have been having issues with vision loss, chronic relentless fatigue, worsening balance issues, muscle weakness, tremors, intensified light sensitivity, staring spells, daily non-stop headaches and memory loss. I'm only 33 years old and sober. So of course I'm concerned! Despite all of this, she told me that there is nothing she can do and that she doesn't think that what I am experiencing is neurological. She then referred to a neuro-psych evaluation I took prior to my thyroid disease diagnosis (which can also effect the brain and mental health) and stated that I should work on my issues with a therapist! She offered to send me my neuro-psych evaluation if I didn't have it. Who wouldn't be a little anxious after the doctor they trust with their LIFE treats them like they're making it up and crazy?? She then told me to find a different neurologist and that her assistant (who was also a nightmare to deal with) already handled forwarding my files over and that I'm discharged. Her assistant, Jenn, would often fail to relay important messages and then forget about it and/or lie about it. I've had to document and provide proof of these instances because otherwise Dr Goldhaber accused me of lying all because Jenn didn't do what she said she would. Even when I had solid proof, Dr Goldhaber would tell me "That didn't happen." It made the whole process even more frustrating. Dr Goldhaber claims I had a full neurological work up and that my mental health is causing all of my symptoms even after she diagnosed me. Instead of sending me for a follow up test considering even my neurosurgeon said to keep a close eye on the condition which hasn't been checked in over half a year, she told me to find a new doctor. If you are struggling with a condition that requires doctors to be proactive in helping find answers, I suggest staying away from this practice and doctor. It breaks my heart to know that so many others have more than likely experienced the same sort of bias. Patients who are scared and in need of help deserve dignity, respect and compassion.

When I talk to other people they seem to think all of this is normal, but it's not what I've been used to. First of all, the office waiting area as well as the building is a little run down. It would be nice to have an office that makes you feel fresh, even if you're not feeling fresh yourself. The first time I met with Dr. Dorris, she was nice, but she came into the room with an agenda. After I left and went to pick up my medication, I found out that she has prescribed another vitamin that she did not tell me about. This is the same vitamin that she asked about as soon as she walked into the room, before she even got to know me, so I feel like she filed the prescription before she even met with me. I actually already take this vitamin, as I told her, so there was no need to get a prescription for it. Each time since then I have had to wait a considerable amount of time both in the waiting room and then again in the room. Once when I was 5 minutes late, they almost scolded me for it, but with the waiting experience I have had there before, I haven't seen the need to be on time only to wait there. For the last time, it took an hour just to have a med check - something that should've taken less than 15 minutes.

Yvette treated my chronic migraines with both acupuncture and herbal prescriptions, greatly reducing my pain and frequency. They are always willing to get you right into the office when you are having a problem. It is a large practice with several other good doctors. The only thing is sometimes the office staff is a little snippy on the phone but I believe it is because the practice is so large maybe they do not have enough help.
