This unfortunately was not a great experience…read more It started great...as a walk-in the girls at front desk we're able to answer my questions about services offered and get me scheduled for a consult and save time for a procedure as well. Next day, I show up for my consult, excited to try a new service the technician is running late (these are crazy times so I wasn't too annoyed.) Twenty minutes later I get called back by a very stressed & rushed technician (I don't believe in public shaming so won't name her here. I also feel bad that people are having a hard time in current environment). Bottom line: I paid $150 for Dermaplanning and a facial that lasted 20 mins, was very rushed, and left peach fuzz on my face. There was nothing relaxing about my experience. Nothing. I called back after I got home and reassessed the results to question the incompleteness of the service (she missed my left cheek!) and was transferred to same rushed tech who implied it was my fault for not checking more thoroughly prior to leaving (again- it was a new procedure for me, so wasn't exactly sure what to look for or expect). She offered to correct the issue by having me drive 45 the next day to another location in Darien where she was scheduled and had an opening. No apologies. No above and beyond effort of making things right. Do yourselves a favor and save the $$$$. Go to a spa that follows through and guarantees satisfaction without making you jump thru hoops.

Plus, a little rosecea, the tendency to freckle, you know...*charm*. The Bellaza Skin Care Institute was a terrific find. They're connected to DuPage Medical Group's dermatology office and are supervised by physicians, so the care is expert and safe. They feature promotions each month, so you can wait for the service you want, if you're on a budget. I've had two services: a chemical peel, and a few months later I got a pumpkin facial. The resulting glow and improved tone was fantastic each time. They don't do all the new-agey music and massage stuff like you'd find in a standard spa - it's more like going to a really beautiful doctor's office where all the employees have flawless skin - but they treat you well and there's no haste. If you need something a little more intense, the doctors next door are fantastic. In my various dealings with the DuPage Medical Group dermatology department, I've seen Dr. Bhatia, Dr. Hsu and Dr. Tung - trained at Northwestern, they'll nip or tuck you, or remove skin cancers with minimal scarring. Mesotherapy, liposuction, lifts, Mohs surgery, and so forth. They're all very young and cool, yet smart and professional, and yes: they all have great skin. They also have locations in Wheaton and Hinsdale.

I'm deeply disappointed with my experience at Oak Dermatology, specifically regarding the MiraDry…read moreprocedure with Rachel. From start to finish, the experience was truly traumatic. Despite expressing discomfort and obvious anxiety stemming from the intense physical pain of my initial procedure with Rachel (which makes me sweat just thinking back to it), both Rachel and Rhonda flat-out refused to let me switch providers for the second treatment. I finally received approval to switch and booked the appointment, only to be told a month later it was being canceled if not done with Rachel. Their rigidity and lack of empathy was appalling. Let me preface this by sharing that I have a high pain tolerance -- I've fractured my hip during military service and have tolerated Opus treatments in the past without flinching; yet, the pain of this procedure was infinitely worse than both of those combined or any surgery I've had. It felt like someone was literally burning off my armpits for over an hour. Between that and the endless injections that wound up being futile, I have never cursed so much in my entire life in one sitting. Nothing Rachel attempted helped with pain management, and my clear distress was minimized and ignored after I recounted the experience to her and the staff. If both Rachel and Rhonda are supposedly qualified to perform this procedure, why refuse my simple, reasonable request to switch providers for the second round of treatments? Had I known they would be so inflexible and dismissive of my well-being, I never would have chosen Oak Dermatology. Now, I have to spend several thousand more dollars to do the procedure anew elsewhere, since the discounted second treatment is non-transferable wherever I go next. This clinic clearly prioritizes their own egos and reputations over patient comfort and care. It's incredibly disappointing to see this kind of arrogance in a medical setting. While Dr. Hsu and Stephanie are genuinely wonderful, competent, and caring professionals, my overall impression of the practice is deeply negative after this. I would never return to Oak Dermatology after being treated in this way.

Horrible service. Constant run around, not helpful with follow ups. Horrible online AI phone/text…read moretree. They just keep making appointments for everything to get you to come in for everything. Find another dermatology office; don't waste your time with this place. The phone just rings, the office location is horrible for parking and the PA's are horrible in communication.
