Ricci Lumber is a lumber yard and an Ace Hardware store. But what it really is, is a place to go for things that they don't have at Home Depot and Lowe's. Really, I've found a variety of odd bolts, downspouts, aluminum channel, and other things that I can never find at Home Depot. And the people know what they're talking about. I'm not saying that no one at Home Depot knows anything, but there's a difference. The pipefitter who's working as a Home Depot as a greeter is a nice guy and I wish him all the best, but the guy at Ricci who knows where every obscure nut and bolt is located does me more good. I haven't compared the prices. I doubt if Ricci is cheaper, but my guess is that they're similar in prices and frequently after I go to Home Depot, I have to stop at Ricci anyway. read more

The reviews on here for the hardware shop are probably fair. However I have had a very bad recent experience with the design center. The customer service was terrible. The installers of my 15k windows seemed more interested in my 15y old daughter than fixing the problems with the install. After months of phone calls and complaints am still no better off. Avoid this place. read more

Really frustrating experience w Ricci Lumber, sad to say. Have you ever heard of a business that won't take your money? Started my order for 2 storm doors, 2 retractable screens and one window w one knowledgeable and friendly salesperson. After several weeks of back and forth trying to get all the details right, I was told I'd be working w another salesperson as our original guy was taking a new position. Fine. New guy appeared to be equally knowledgeable, and printed up a quote for part of my order which I was ready to sign and pay a deposit on. At the buzzer, salesman said he needed one more measurement from our contractor. My contractor made 3 attempts to reach him to no avail. This all started in September and consisted of 3-4 in person visits, a dozen+ emails and multiple phone calls. My last several emails have gone unanswered. Really? Arriverderci, Ricci. Better luck to other customers. Will have to shop elsewhere now, but I may be stuck w higher prices since,1-we began process during a manufacturer's sale and 2-I have been told prices across the board went up on the first of the year. Great customer service. I went in with every intent of getting supplies to build a raised vegetable garden. I had a vague idea of what I should be getting but to be honest, I've never gardened at all. The person at the counter detailed what I needed to build the boxes with diagrams and helpful knowledge. He actually drew me diagrams! He told me what types of soil to use, had the wood cut for me for the boxes, and even went as far as to instruct me on the seeds I had purchased. Amazing people here. I now have my first two raised vegetable gardens in the backyard thanks to these guys. read more

I like this place for what it's not - it's not a big corporate box store - it's homegrown and it's important I think to support our local businesses - when they earn the business - and Ricci Lumber does in spades. I learned so much about painting from the staff there in terms of tips that painting is not the hellish chore it once was, and when the missus talks about painting a room I no longer run to the garage and hide. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is price and I'm not sure if its fair to expect them to be the same price as the big boxes, and service is worth paying for, but a dollar is a dollar. read more

If there's different choices, they'll explain the differences and if asked, say "if it were me, I'd get this one." Their prices are reasonable, they stand by their product, and if you live in town, their location is great (you can now even stop by the local brew pub next door). This is how you hope a contracting experience should go. We were looking for an integrated solution for a large window and door replacement project. Our desire was to work with a single reliable vendor that could deliver and install a quality product. We were looking for a firm that had their own in-house installers. We discovered that the well known national firm that frequently advertises on TV does not directly employ their workers. You are actually dealing with an independent company and not the nation firm. And we found their prices to be very high. Ricci gave us a very competitive quote. They are the local supplier for Anderson the company we prefered based on prior ownership. The installers, Derek and Andrew, were professional, courteous, competent, and expeditious. The price we were quoted was the price we paid and the product was delivered and completed on time. They even re-keyed all of our locks even though that wasn't in the contract. read more

Aisha Was knowledgeable, extremely helpful, attentive and prompt. When I arrived to pick up my order, I walked into a very busy store, with plenty of extremely friendly and helpful staff.
