OMG! What a find! So glad I found you. I have searched online for months trying to find a wallpaper…read morethat I was looking for. Reminiscing about the huge, plentiful wallpaper stores of yesteryear! We'll, this is the closest replica of my memories. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I can't wait for my order to come in and get my project completed!! Thank you!!! Highly recommend!

Listen, I am busier than a mailman in a tornado and I only write reviews for businesses that…read moredeserve either awesome reviews, businesses that have a rating I find perplexing, or businesses that should be burned to the ground as a matter of public safety. I have been going to A & M painting for about 10 years. I f*#4ing hate painting. I would rather donate both lungs to a fish than paint. A & M makes painting so, so much easier. Go to A & M painting or I will write a scathing review about your hygiene habits. In my experience, every great business is great largely because of the people that work there. Scott knows more about paint than Van Gogh. He's also incredibly unlikely to cut off his ear and send it to you. He will spend time with you. He will find both the correct product for you and set you on the path to an efficient, beautiful project. You have no idea how much I hate painting. I would rather have all my teeth pulled and replaced with those blue sanitizer things at the bottom of urinals than paint. A & M makes painting more like getting a bad papercut with a tax bill, so relatively tolerable. I wish I could show you what I am looking at. I asked Scott to match a paint the previous tenant of my office left for the walls. (I should mention that the previous business failed because the idiot owner bought paint at Lowe's, where, I $h!t you not, I was recently told that there are two quarts in a gallon. True story.) Scott hooked me up with a paint that is the exact - EXACT - color match. That's not the only thing though. He knows I hate painting - mostly because of the anti-painting protests I hold downtown once a month or so - so he gave me a paint so high in quality that the job only needed one coat. Really. The whole room, 12' x 15', took me two hours, including sanding, washing, taping, and painting. I f*#$ing hate painting so much. It's like this for me: Boko Haram, painting, lobbyists, Bill Laimbeer, people that don't like Thanksgiving... I should mention that the first time I went to A & M was because I asked a professional painter where I should go, and he told me A & M. Keeping with this train of thought...Ever go into a sushi place and you're the only American there? Everyone else is Japanese? Well, I have. I was in Japan, but that doesn't matter. Half of the people in A & M are professional painters. Follow the pros to find other pros. In this case, if you follow the pros, you won't end up at Lowe's; that's because 4 quarts per gallon Scott knows, does and bros. So, skip the Homer "DOHs" and go to A & M, because painting blows. Your job will come out much better and be much easier. Do it. Rumi tip of the day: A female deer is a doe. Plural is "does."

Yes, you'll pay more for their paint than you would at say, Home Depot but it is so worth it…read more Don't believe me? Then try it for yourself! Go to Home Depot and show the guy behing the paint counter a swatch of your granite countertop and ask him what color he would recommend considering you have cherry cabinetry. Then, when he's done laughing at you, go to Waters & Brown and show your granite swatch to Sam and Lauren (I think her name is.) That's what I did and they immediately both thought of the same color, Quahog. So much darker than I ever wanted to go but wow, just the right color. Then Sam suggested Oxygen (a pale blue) for the ceiling and a color called America's Cup for the trim. The America's Cup (an off white) threw my husband into fits of worry. Will it be too yellow? Will it look dirty and dingy? Sam, promised it wouldn't and explained why . . . and he was right. So right, that my husband went back and asked him what color we should paint the adjoining hall, Sam made a recommendation and my husband walked out with that color paint. This is the same husband who would gladly spend months deliberating every decision, no matter how minute!!! So it is no exaggeration when I say that Sam may have single-handedly saved my marriage, or perhaps my husband's life because I was ready to either kill or divorce him. So as we decorate our entire home over, all I can say is thank God for Waters and Brown, and thank God for Sam!!!!

SO disappointed in the LACK of courtesy in the design department (Patti). As a hospitality…read moreprofessional/consultant I have the privilege to experience hospitality at its best and worst from both the guest/customer and employee/educator perspective. My experience was as follows: I was walking around the flooring department looking for someone to assist me and was unable to find anyone. I ended up walking over to the design department and asked if there was someone in the flooring department that could help me. The response I got was incredibly rude. "I don't know- is there? I can't see over there." She did end up, making an announcement over the PA for assistance twice. And when someone in flooring did call back, they said they were with someone at the moment - which I of course would wait my turn. This designer proceeded to tell me that there was someone over there and couldn't believe that I couldn't find them. Now I know I was not in the flooring department asking another employee of a different department for assistance, but I still was no pun intended floored. Very disappointed, Home Depot. If you would ever like to hire me for training... I'm happy to share my rates with you!

The garden center is good but neglected. You hear the venders talking about home depot people not…read moredoing their work ect. I am in business and know that customer service is paramount. I was there last week and purchased a roll of Sod and placed it in my car amoung other items. I peeked at it, it seemed ok but I did not want to unravel the entire roll as it makes a mess in car ect. Got home and rolled out the sod to find 90% of it was dead. These things happen someone did not water it or it came in with this issue. Regardless I took a photo and said to myself next time I am in Newington I will show them the photo and get a credit. I went back to store a few days later. I went to customer service and was greated by 3 folks who thought that my issue was funny. They told me that I had to bring in the wet dirty roll of dead sod. I said that is unaceptable. They promptly told me thats their policy. I told then to please get a MOD (manager on duty). A manager did come and explained that they are just doing there job, its company policy. I explained that I had a sales receipt and photo. She promptly gave me a credit. Its the beginning of May and we have not had any days over 70 degrees. Why is this happening? I will not be returning to this store that has no customer service. Why did this happen, and why is the customer inconvenienced? Someone did not do their job. No one said I am sorry for the inconvenience!!! Pass the buck and stick up for employees is not a policy. I will be sure to tell all my neighbors and friends. The policy and attitude of this Home Depot in Newington is a disgrace.
