The trouble began a couple of weeks after completing our apartment. In order to paint our walls, they had to remove and then reinstall some curtains. After the painters left, one of the curtains dropped out of the wall (picture 1'. When I requested they come back and fix the problem, Paintzen refused, claiming "the wall can't support the anchor" and to repair it would "go beyond your project's scope of work". On the contrary, the wall supported the curtains for 11 years until Paintzen came. The picture below shows screws without any anchors (picture 2). Surely, if they valued my business and their reputation, they would figure out a way to restore our wall to their prior condition. I escalated my complaints with the company but have yet to hear anything from them. I am reviewing my other options should they continue to ignore me. Bottom line: Paintzen may be fine for a simple and fast project like a bathroom. Do not trust them with a large project that could prove to have complexities. They may leave you (not) hanging.

There is one older Caribbean gentleman who wears a cap and works behind the counter who is especially rude. Every time I come in, he greets me with a scowl and never hands my card back directly after a transaction. If I purchase several items, he simply hands me a bag and expects me to bag everything myself, even though other employees have always done it without hesitation. What finally made me decide not to return was a recent visit where I stood there waiting for 15 minutes (it wasn't busy) while that same employee sat at the computer, clearly aware I was waiting, but chose to ignore me completely. Another employee was on the phone with a customer, so I was left standing there with no acknowledgment at all. If my business is not appreciated, I am more than happy to take it elsewhere. There are plenty of other places that provide better service. I highly recommend Gleason Paint Place instead. The tall employee there, as well as the young Hispanic guy who takes orders, are always helpful, respectful, and professional.

I have had Dave, the owner of Perfect Painting, paint the exterior of my house on two occasions…read more(the fact I brought him back for a second paint job says a ton). I believe he did a professional, quality job both times at a fair price. The first paint job looked good for years and lasted well over 10 years (all you can reasonably expect). With the first painting, we had just completed an addition, so the job required painting both a new, fresh surface, as well as an 80 year old structure. Both times the crew prepared the house well. They sanded huge sections of the house, removing all the chipping as well as other faults of the old paint job.They were neat and environmentally conscience, using vacums with hoses attached to the sanders, working behind plastic sheeting and on top of drop clothes to contain the paint chips. The paint job itself was very professional. Dave also stands behind his work. I had some minor chipping that I thought was premature a few years after the second paint job. I called Dave and explained the problem. He came by and looked at the house. He stood behind his work and offered to touch up the area, simply asking that I be flexible with the timing (totally reasonable in my opinion - I offered he simply do it when he had a window of time). When the time came to do the touch up, he took a chip of paint off the house, went to the paint store to match the paint chip (we had the original color code/name, but Dave was cognizant of the fact that paint fades as it ages and is exposed to the elements - so the job required a slightly different tone to the color which the sample afforded him the opportunity to custom mix a paint to match the faded color) and then sent his crew over to prep and apply a fresh paint job to the area. The touched up area blended in very nicely with the existing paint job, so one could not tell the difference by color. This review comes from a guy that painted for a business in high school and college, after having been taught by my Dad how to do it right. I had many repeat customers due to the quality of my work. I also have run my own businesses over the years. Therefore, I think I have a fairly good idea of what to expect from both a business owner and a professional painter: I am happy to say that Dave delivered professionalism on both counts.

The guys came and I was excited because the prep work looked really good when they started. They kept saying that they would bring another guy to do the job faster and never did. Overall the paint job was fine for the reasonable price point and the condition of my walls to begin with, but when it came time for them to complete phase two, the window trim, they stopped returning my phone calls and text messages. I had to actually hire ANOTHER painter to complete the job because Zulen totally disappeared on me. It is unfortunate because I have a ton of friends now who need paint jobs and I wouldn't recommend them. They were going to come back and touch up some things that were missed originally too and they just disappeared off the face of the earth! I hope that doesn't happen to you!
