I ordered the 4-piece takoyaki which were surprisingly good. They really do use Japanese mayo. The ramen however.. is a different story. I got the shio with yuzu flavouring and optional corn, a combination I've had only in Okayama before, I was surprised to see that on the menu. The egg had no taste whatsoever, the noodle density was actually on point (I like 'em on the chewy side as opposed to Hako Ramen's soft noodles - which are just as fine), the chashu was sorta bland and the broth itself didn't wow me, either. Way too weak. So the main point of the entire dish - the broth - didn't convince me even though I did like the yuzu flavouring. I'd only order from Ramen x Ramen for the takoyaki only. I guess their other appetizers are equally as great, but I'll stay away from the ramen.

We showed up just before 7 on a Monday evening and it was busy but not completely full. My friend got the Shio Ramen and I opted for the Tan Tan Vegan Ramen. To start we also shared the Vegan Gioza, which were tasty but maybe a bit pricey at 1 euro per piece. The ramen came and it was fine. The spiciness wasn't really all that spicy, but it did give a nice flavor to the broth. The veggies were not as plentiful as I'd hoped (only one piece of bok choy) but there were tons of noodles and a good amount of the vegan meat, which made for a filling meal. For some reason I had expected "spicy tofu" to mean tofu pieces, but it was more like Hack (hamburger meat). All in all fine, but I would have preferred actual tofu or else a more descriptive menu. I'm not at all opposed to checking this place out again and trying a different ramen, but it didn't blow me away like I had hoped.

In Berlin visiting from America. I'm a vegetarian and was looking for a good Japanese place to eat…read moreat for dinner. Found this place and was extremely pleased. My boyfriend and I were able to get 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and 3 appetizers for the price of about 60€, which we consider a steal as we got a large amount of food and many variations instead of one expensive dish. The waiters were kind and able to speak to me in English. The food cane out fast and was super good! My local boyfriend has now recommended this place to his friends.

And I'm not usually this sensitive but this weird shit really got on my nerves. The reservation was made by my friend, and the waiter denied my request to take the seat only until my friend showed up, even if I had all the informations needed. At the end I paid the bill, and he acted as if I didn't exist, only trying to interact with my friend instead, and again, pushed me, giving orders like "hold it", when I simply tried to attached my card to the machine. It was too aggressive for a waiter's body language. There was so much cringe in the air that I had to laugh, finally he realized my presence and gave me this shocked look as if i came from nowhere. And you know what, all these narrations don't actually come from me, but from my white friend, with whom this waiter was, compared to what I experienced, perfectly polite and friendly. To be fair, other waiters were really kind and attentive. The way they talked to me and my friend was equally nice as professionals. So we can be almost sure that it was not me being a bitch. He couldn't hide his discriminations or make it even just a bit easier to ignore. And I will not ignore or tolerate such behavior. So here you go. And yeh, good luck with your special charm my guy.

I mean was I going to eat ramen while I was in Germany? What about finding some bratwurst and beer? Well I ended up walking all over, but came back to Marubi, because dammit I really wanted some Ramen. It's not a big restaurant, but it wasn't busy when I was there (it was after 8), so I got seated right away. I ordered the beef ramen. The very little German I can speak and understand didn't stop me from getting a delicious bowl of ramen, and it was delicious. There's a good ramen place in Dublin where I live, but it's a bit of a ways for me to get to. So yeah Ramen in Berlin was a great idea. I always forget how much I love ramen until I have a bowl. This was as good as the ramen I tried in Tokyo. Homemade, nicely seasoned, and a good price. With some water it was 9.80, and was enough to keep me satiated until breakfast the next morning. If you're in Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin it's worth stopping in for a delicious bowl of ramen at Marubi.
