Right off of the Ambassador Caffery Parkway, it used to be called the El Taqueria Louisiana Dollar #2 or something like that. I guess it's now renamed as El Cazador. Inflation unfortunately brings the pricing up pretty high which is $3.50 per taco. I used to read that it was 4 tacos for $5 back before COVID effed everything up. I had reservations about if I wanted to order here but the smells had me hooked so I did 5 tacos mix of barbacoa, cabeza, carnitas x2, and asada. The lady in the truck was super sweet and the food got to me quickly. Upon unwrapping and eating everything in the hotel room, I like how everything was packaged and they threw in grilled onions, and a serrano pepper for spice. The tacos tasted good; juicy meats with onions/cilantro accompanying it. While I'm not thrilled about the price charged, I can't complain too much as the taste is there. Cash only FYI. Maybe there is somewhat of a decent taco game in Louisiana!

She charged me 9 dollars each, saying something about new price. Truck still says 8 dollars. I told her I didn't understand the price increase because it wasn't listed on the truck. When I got home my no meat burrito hardly had anything in it. This has happened every time this woman is working. We will never go back!

The bacon is deliciously crispy without being greasy at all. The cheese is a perfect combination of melty and hot without being gooey. The jalapeño is soft but not soggy- has a tiny bit of crunch! The portion of the bean dip/spread? With chips is just what you need without going overboard. I will say this is my hyper obsession meal because I know I can only get it here. There isn't any other place in town that I have found that serves this exact same dish. The plate comes with three of them, rice, salad, beans+chips. The lean brisket was solid, a little peppery on the bark. I'd have liked it to be a little smokier and the bark a little more flavorful but that's the only complaint you will get in this review. The Dr Pepper sticky ribs were phenomenal! Sweet, smokey dessert like meaty goodness. It was almost pornographic what I did to those bones. The smokey beans lived up to that name for sure and the green chili corn casserole was unique and delicious. This is a definitely a place I will repeat when I am back in Lafayette.

The "Kick Ass Shrimp" sandwich caught my eye, although at $12.00 with no side item; it seemed kind of pricey. But, what the heck ... if it was good, it would be money well spent - right? Well, yes and no. The six shrimp were cooked very nicely, although I had to remove them from the sandwich in order to not eat the tails. It was the bottom bread swimming in grease and loads of garlic that was so disappointing. You could literally wring out the bread; instead, I just didn't eat it. For six shrimp and a top layer of bread, it was not worth $12.00. I bought a Diet Coke and that brought the total to $14.50. Sorry, Chef Gregory, but a food truck is not fine dining.
