Amazing fried catfish and shrimp. Highly recommend. Stopped here on our way through town. Definitely worth the stop!

I stopped in here last Saturday at 10:30 am and when I pulled into the parking lot, I was…read moreunderwhelmed as Blanchard's is in a strip mall between a Subway and a donut shop. "How good can strip mall BBQ be?" was my initial thought but the line of 10 people waiting to get in that early eased my thinking. To answer my own question, strip mall BBQ can apparently be great! I got a 2-meat plate with the brisket, Dr Pepper glazed sticky ribs, green chili corn casserole and smokey beans. As you are ordering the brisket they ask if you want it sliced or chopped, and if you want lean, fatty or burnt ends. I knew it would be good then. The lean brisket was solid, a little peppery on the bark. I'd have liked it to be a little smokier and the bark a little more flavorful but that's the only complaint you will get in this review. The Dr Pepper sticky ribs were phenomenal! Sweet, smokey dessert like meaty goodness. It was almost pornographic what I did to those bones. The smokey beans lived up to that name for sure and the green chili corn casserole was unique and delicious. This is a definitely a place I will repeat when I am back in Lafayette.

It's good BBQ. I can't honestly say that it matches the price. The price reflects a full service…read morerestaurant, not a wait in line, order at the counter experience. It is a small place in a strip mall, so seating is limited. That being said the last time I was there, there was quite a line, so obviously people believe that it is worth it. Take your own data. For me, it is just a bit pricey for what you get.

It was giving the Melting…read morePot vibes when I first heard about it but once I actually tried it out, omg, it's so much better. The food was fresh and the broth was very flavorful. It's technically all you can eat. Each person gets one type of broth in their hot pot but you can order just about any veggie or protein on the menu except for a few seafood items like the king crab which is extra. The shaved lamb and crispy pork were our faves. I had the pork bone broth and my friend got the medium spicy butter broth. Both were good. I also got ramen noodles and a bunch of sauce from their buffet of sauce, kimchi, cilantro and green onions in the front. The bbq shrimp, sausage, and chicken were all delicious but those are sent out already cooked. No problem. Yes, they also serve booze! I believe it was pretty much wine and beer and a Japanese mimosa.

Serving the same thing for lunch at $24.99 is a more reasonable price. Great date night place and family experience was super fun! The lamb and beef look fatty but eat it all!!!! The soup base pushes flavor into each piece. Don't really care for BBQ but it was so tender and full of flavor. Be sure not to issue out on this. Will go back but for lunch.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

More specifically their flatbreads and loaded fries, which I do not currently see on their website. Most of the time they have loaded fries which in the past have consisted of gravies and sauces. One preparation we ordered came with pickled okra. The fried green tomatoes are also very good, especially to start with or share. As far as main dishes go we have tried the following: All Hail Caesar (Flatbread) Spicy Chicken Sandwich Smoke Fried Chicken-N-Biscuits Social Cheeseburger The Mac n Cheese is a must get as a side in my opinion. One of the first times we visited they had carrot cake as a dessert, we still talk about that carrot cake today. If you are a sweet tea lover this place has a twist which I love. I stepped it up a notch by dipping my bites of steak into her sauce and my mouth was exploding w delight! If you're a bourbon/whiskey drinker, they have more than enough options to choose from. My wife had a smores flavored old fashion, and it was just up her alley. I had a house old fashioned that was just right. We will definitely return.
