"How good can strip mall BBQ be?" was my initial thought but the line of 10 people waiting to get in that early eased my thinking. To answer my own question, strip mall BBQ can apparently be great! I got a 2-meat plate with the brisket, Dr Pepper glazed sticky ribs, green chili corn casserole and smokey beans. As you are ordering the brisket they ask if you want it sliced or chopped, and if you want lean, fatty or burnt ends. I knew it would be good then. The lean brisket was solid, a little peppery on the bark. I'd have liked it to be a little smokier and the bark a little more flavorful but that's the only complaint you will get in this review. The Dr Pepper sticky ribs were phenomenal! Sweet, smokey dessert like meaty goodness. It was almost pornographic what I did to those bones. The smokey beans lived up to that name for sure and the green chili corn casserole was unique and delicious. This is a definitely a place I will repeat when I am back in Lafayette.

We we're greeted by the beautiful hostess right away and this place was gaining customers by the second so I was happy there was no wait. Our amazing server came right away, and we ordered drinks. The drink menu didn't have much of a variety but the food menu made it for it. I had wine and my wife had a baybreeze (I believe that's the name). We order the Oysters Supreme and it was so dang good. My wife loves oysters and I am a newbie when it comes to eating them ( this was my second time in my life) and I was blown away! It was sooooo good. Then we shared an entree, called the Shuckin' Flounder. Talk about delicious!!! My favorite was the bread pudding. We took it to go and I loved that there was a note with bread pudding to give you instructions on heating annnnnddd to brag on how good it is. It did not disappoint!!! It was just as amazing at home as it was if it would have eaten it at the restaurant. Went to the latest food truck round up at E's kitchen and tried the fried stuffed ravioli from…read moremunchies. Very good. It had a very rich spinach and cheese sauce on top of the ravioli. The portion was kinda lacking for the price, only four pieces of ravioli for 7.50. The other selections looked amazing too. And will try them again at another round up. Not the typical food out of a food truck but delicious none the less.

Right off of the Ambassador Caffery Parkway, it used to be called the El Taqueria Louisiana Dollar #2 or something like that. I guess it's now renamed as El Cazador. Inflation unfortunately brings the pricing up pretty high which is $3.50 per taco. I used to read that it was 4 tacos for $5 back before COVID effed everything up. I had reservations about if I wanted to order here but the smells had me hooked so I did 5 tacos mix of barbacoa, cabeza, carnitas x2, and asada. The lady in the truck was super sweet and the food got to me quickly. Upon unwrapping and eating everything in the hotel room, I like how everything was packaged and they threw in grilled onions, and a serrano pepper for spice. The tacos tasted good; juicy meats with onions/cilantro accompanying it. While I'm not thrilled about the price charged, I can't complain too much as the taste is there. Cash only FYI. Maybe there is somewhat of a decent taco game in Louisiana!

I ate plenty of hibachi, and this one is probably one of the worst ones I ever had. The rice was weak in flavor and seasoning, it was just topped with soy sauce, and that was it. I was so disappointed.. we had the following: - Shrimp Meal - includes fried rice, mixed veggies, and a choice of sauce (I chose HERO, which was like a spicy mayo), and you can also choose another meat, but I chose shrimp. This plate was so weak in flavor, I was so sad, I was looking forward to something so delicious, but it failed me - Crawfish Wrap - which is wrapped up "meal", their fried rice, mixed veggies and meat (in which in chose crawfish).. the insides already started weak, and wrapping it just makes it worst..
