What should have been a simple appointment turned into a mess because of the front office…read more The appointment email made it look like my appointment was at 1:15 and said to arrive 15 minutes early, so I arrived at 1:00. I checked in and was told to sit down. After waiting with no updates for nearly an hour, I went up to the desk around 1:50 to ask what was going on. That's when I was told my appointment was "actually" at 1:30 and that the email somehow accounts for the 15 minute buffer. That explanation made zero sense. I was then told I'd be next, but multiple patients for the same doctor were called back ahead of me. At 2:10, a staff member came out and loudly accused me of not completing my paperwork. When I started filling it out, I noticed the back page already had my signature and date. I pointed this out and was told I didn't fill out the section on health issues or surgeries. I don't have any. Somehow this turned into my problem. It felt very much like they were trying to shift blame onto me to cover up how far behind they were, and the attitude was rude and unnecessary. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is the doctor, who was excellent. Unfortunately, the front desk chaos, poor communication, and lack of professionalism completely overshadowed the visit. The front office seriously needs to get it together.

When I wrote the name down it was at the end after my eyes were dilated. Then the technician Claudia was outstanding, very patient and gentle when positioning you at each machine. Also, would explain in detail what was going to happen and what you needed to do each time. Totally making sure that I was comfortable and understood what the test was for. Once I was placed into the examination room waiting for Dr. Liu, which took a little while, but worth the wait. I have had eye surgery on my left, now my right eye has to be done. I'm just thankful he will be performing the second surgery as well, because he is awesome. I was feeling some anxiety, but Dr. Liu makes you feel at ease. We discussed why I was back there, and he started my exam letting the Scribe Joshua know what he was seeing and what he needed to do. Joshua would ask Dr. Liu every now and then to repeat what he said, so that he was accurate in what he was transcribing. There was a scribe in training whose name was Lindsey and Joshua was explaining in detail exactly what he was doing. I will always recommend Sacramento Eye Consultants, they are outstanding!!!!!

I was nervous going in since my eyes are really sensitive, but from the moment of my first appointment the Dr. Liu and his team were kind and professional and reassured me that the process would be easy. Melinda in scheduling was friendly and efficient , even checking in at the hospital after the surgery. Dr. Liu and his team really put me at ease to go ahead with the surgery. I was amazed that at lunch after the surgery I could already see crystal clear, I'm currently in the middle of the eye drop sequence and if anything negative at all would be that eye drop process (albeit necessary) LOL Go see Dr Liu, the doctor and his team are amazing, you will not regret it. Thank you Dr. Liu and Sacramento Eye Consultants!

I felt so welcome and everyone went above and beyond to explain everything in complete detail and to put me at ease with my concerns regarding my cataract surgery process from beginning to end. I highly recommend them to anyone who is considering laser surgery of any kind. I had been putting it off for a long time and they made the entire experience so easy that I was kicking myself for waiting so long! I can see clearly again - that is so life-changing! Dr. Barnett took the time to answer all my questions - such a nice feeling to never feel brushed off in any way. He is a gem and I can not praise him and all who worked with him highly enough for such a positive experience. Thank you again and AGAIN for everything!

On December 10th, 2024, I went to my first appointmen with Barnett. When I went to check out and…read moreget my date for cataract surgery, I was shocked and irritated to hear I owed $45 per eye, $90, for the drops given before the examination. That money I had set aside for Christmas presents. I didn't know about that before the appointment. I turned my face away, said, "This is 'f-ing crazy. " I also said Merry Christmas to myself. I was not irritated at the staff; I was irritated with the situation and disappointed. I also asked if they would check again to see if my insurance didn't cover it. Barnett came running down the hall accusing me of cussing out his staff. I was blindsided. Didn't see it coming. My words were not directed toward the staff. Barnett told his staff to cancel my surgery. I might add, I haven't been able to see well for 2 years. I was diagnosed back in April. I was also disappointed the surgery wouldn't be for 6 months. Depressed. It was a momentary reaction on my part, and I had no ill-will toward the staff. I tried to explain, but I couldn't. He yelled, calling me a liar! All this was in front of other patients in the waiting room. I begged Barnett to not to cancel my surgery! After calling me a liar, he promptly told his staff to take me off the books...no surgery. He threw me out of the office. I left in tears. A woman in the waiting room came to my car and told me she saw and heard the whole thing. She said," I watched you, heard you, and you didn't do anything wrong." She comforted me and was shocked at Barnett's behavior toward me. I still cry and get stomach aches over the event. I tried to apologize, but I wasn't allowed. Instead, I was called a liar and refused surgery and help. There should be a list of rules on his lobby wall: 1. No having a bad day 2. No irritation, depression, or questioning about insurance allowed. 3. No foul language allowed, not even to yourself. 4. No comments allowed 5. Must stay quiet and obey 6. No speaking 7. Sit down, wait, be treated without a word 8. Check out quietly with nothing said about money owed. 9. No questions...just pay 10. Smile, be cheerful, leaving any trials you're having outside the door. Do not bring them into this office. 11. No depression, irritation, frustration, profanity allowed! If you see Barnett, he'll be nice and apparently he will do a good job. He wasn't to me. If you ask him about this, he'll continue to call me a liar. Make sure nobody close to you died the day before you see Barnett...a husband, a child, a good friend...which might affect your state of mind and heart and being in a sad, depressed or frustrated way. That wouldn't be allowed either. Factually, Daryla 70 year senior On a fixed income.
