I utilized Richard Beckman Realty Group for renting a house, and eventually purchasing a home. The ladies at the office are friendly and helped me find a place to rent when I arrived in Shelton. I've had multiple phone calls with Trisha and Devanie and they've been great. Property Maintenance Agent David Hamilton is very nice, and helpful. Richard Beckman went over all of the rental paper work with me and he is very professional and pleasant. Kerry Fauth was our real estate agent, she's amazing! Richard contacted me and assured me he had someone perfect for my situation, and he was right. Due to working odd shifts and needing someone on Sundays, Kerry bent over backwards to assist me beyond normal office hours. She's very nice, works hard, and is on top of everything. Kerry always made time for us, showed us homes in Union, Allen, and Shelton. Nice homes are in limited supply here and they go quickly. There were multiple offers on every home we looked at so you need an agent that is on point and quick. I highly recommend Kerry and Richard Beckman Realty Group, they're all wonderful! read more

My review is from the perspective of a property owner. The Beckman Group managed the rental of my property for about 7 years. They are terrible at it! If I could give them zero stars I would. They tell you what you want to hear, say they will take care of things but never do and never follow up. They allowed a tenant to install a huge above ground pool without notifying me. I found out about it when I went for an unexpected visit. There was a water leak and they didn't know where the water shut off was located when the tenant called in the emergency. They did NOT manage my property. They collected rent and took their cut and did nothing to actively manage the property. They let tenants vacate without cleaning or collecting fees to have it cleansed. Very, very bad company. I would not recommend them to anyone. STAY AWAY from this company!! read more

I tried to get a response from them to my question 'will they accept our rottweilers'. They charged me $80 for an application fee before they could answer the question. It has been 6 days and the only response I received was 'how is the rental search going?'. There are some serious communications and process issues with this company. Apparently their sales office is alright, but the rental side is appearing to be a scam until they correct their problems. read more

I wish I could give zero stars! They only care about your money! They will do and say what ever it takes to get you into that door and as soon as you need to move out BAM random expenses have been charged! And they will need money THAT WEEK! Abouslty ridiculous! They have a walk through from a worker every couple of months, for what? Nothing, the guy just walks in and asked if we are doing good and then leaves. What is the point? My family and I feel completely scammed and have no way to pay for the thousands and thousands of fees that is owed AFTER our very large security deposit. I would NOT recommend! The worse realty/management group I've ever encountered. I've had numerous maintenance issues that have not only never been resolved but have actually been denied. My fireplace has been broken for 4 months and our average temperature of the house is 35 degrees and they refuse to fix it. Often they do not reply to emails or respond to requests. They've attempted to screw me over multiples time (one of which was illegal) and it's obvious they don't care about their tenants and are only money hungry. The entire company is a joke. read more

If they had an option for NO star thats what I would pick. I agree with the other review. HORRIBLE. Machel Poier Ledford was one of the worst agents I have ever dealt with. We paid the application fee, and one of the houses didnt accept pets, that's fine, so they offer us another house, we express interest in that house only to be told "you need to fill out an application" I kindly write back, you have an application for us already you have had it for over a week now! She writes back and says "oh that house has an approved application already" She completely wasted our time. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We purchased a rental property from Marca, who represented the sellers, and she was the most outright deceitful real estate agent I have ever come across. Both she and her clients lied to us, the neighbors at our new property, and her clients breached several aspects of the contract they signed. When we discovered the breaches, Marca did nothing to help remedy them and her clients were horrifyingly rude about being asked to fulfill a contract they signed. Completely unprofessional. Marca's blatant dishonesty with our new neighbors, about which we were unaware until months after closing, caused a huge rift in our relationship with the people who live near our rental property, which is not a good way to start things off. When we pursued financial reimbursement from Marca's clients for the aspects of the contracts they did not fulfill and we had to complete after the fact, Marca was shockingly unprofessional and led her clients to believe we were the unreasonable ones for being upset that they violated a written contract. We have bought and sold multiple homes and have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism and dishonesty. read more

If I could give a lower rating I would. I absolutely hated renting from this group. They added fees without telling me until I called and asked what they were for. The property I rented was rat /raccoon infested, they would show up at my house without notice while I wasn't there, the house had a broken fridge that I asked them to fix and they took so long that I had to buy a completely new fridge. After moving out they charged me for taking down a shed that was already on the property when I rented it. Calling the office was a hassle because everyone gave me different information, most of it being inaccurate. Unless you want to end up finding an attorney by the end of your lease I don't recommend this place! read more

IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE A NEGATIVE NUMBER I WOULD. On August 11th my husband and I went to view a home we felt was perfect for our family. The next day we filled out an application online. The rent there is the exact same we pay at our current residence so it was nothing more than getting a bigger space, and actually have storage area. Well due to finances at the time I talked with the staff and made sure that it was ok to have my husbands application go through and then I would pay mine in a week or two when i got paid. They had said that was fine. We never got any word from them on status of application. I went in on August 28th and paid for my fee to have my part of the application be processed. This is where it is gets rough. We had a struggle to explain how my husbands pay is because he gets VA disability and gi bill for schooling. Well.... we were told by Dave that if we just send them the info showing proof of the gi bill BAH monthly amount we would be fine and that would definitely put us over the 2x's the rent and we would be good. We left thinking all was good. Monday morning I received a phone call from Trisha stating that the property had received an offer. Low and behold the house was up for sale as well and no one told us that nor was it on their website in the description area. No one offered to refund me the $40 I just went in to pay for my part at all. I called on Tuesday and Trisha said she had no knowledge about the offer on the house and that she would talk to Richard when he gets out of his meeting and give me a call back. No phone call and then Thursday evening I ended up sending an email to the realty group asking about status update. I received an email back from Richard stating it was his knowledge that we did not qualify. Wait so this is the first that we are hearing about this. Trisha then sent me an email the next morning and this is what part of the email said: " I can't disclose any information on the home since it is up for sale I am not an agent therefore that is why I know very little about the offer. However the owner has taken it off the rental list and website so it is no longer for rent I did send you disapproval letters due to this." So being that said it states we were disapproved because of the offer not because of us personally. I did receive my disapproval letters today in the mail all for them to be typed up dated August 17th, denied because of credit (which has a total of just over $500 in it), but printed out on September 2nd and sent out to me. I emailed them back and still no email back or phone call. How can a company already have a determination on our application, not tell us, but then take my application money on August 28th and then take an offer in on the house on August 31st? read more

This review applies to Richard Beckman Rentals, the home rental service provided by Beckman Group. We wanted to rent a house in the same area (NE Mason County, WA) where we are building our own. Our contact at Beckman Group was a person named Tricia. From our first meeting with her she behaved unprofessionally, abruptly terminating our conversation about application fees and departing the scene (outside their office), plainly demonstrating a lack of interest in our business. We would have switched to a different home rental agency immediately, but we could find no other providing homes close to our building site. With some apprehension, we submitted rental applications with Beckman Rentals on the morning of the next business day. In the late afternoon of the day following, Tricia informed me during a telephone call that since she was unable to contact a rent history reference for a period 8 and more years in the past (an excellent reference existed but was outside the country and difficult to contact) our applications would be rejected. This decision was in spite of the fact that we had excellent financial and credit histories, excellent employment and personal references and, for the last 8 years, excellent housing/rental references. In short, we were ideal potential tenants and had all the data and contact information to prove it, but she was rejecting our applications anyway, based on an arbitrary demand for a distant past contact. Subsequently, during the same phone call, as I was lobbying for her to reconsider, she hung up on me! I called back and spoke to Richard Beckman, relating all that had transpired. He responded, "We'll get back to you" and hung up. He gave no apology for his employee's misbehavior and no indication that he took it seriously or that he would quickly work to resolve the situation. My wife and I decided that we'd been given more than enough evidence of the Beckman Group's lack of professionalism and that it would be ill advised to deal with them further. We applied for a rental with a company in Olympia and our applications were approved in less than 1 business day. Epilogue: The next day Tricia called and said that our applications had been approved and one of the houses we had expressed interest in was available for us to take. She gave no apology for hanging up on me the previous day and no explanation why she had rejected our applications then but could approve them now. Essentially pretending that the previous day's phone call had never happened. Of course by that point there was no chance we would ever consider renting anything from Beckman Group. read more

I have never rented from this company but my son did. He was right on the edge of eligibility, but after an interview they rented him the house he wanted and was very happy with the property and the location. Tragically after a few months into his lease he passed away. The entire staff has been wonderful and compassionate through the entire process and so easy for us to work with. Based on my experience I can only say Thank You and repay their kindness by letting others know how great they have been to work with. read more

Terrible. The laziest I've met. Charging application fees just for a showing. Get off your butt and show your properties. I've been house hunting for a month. I've viewed dozens of homes. Could you imagine being charged 80-100 dollars Everytime you wanted to LOOK at a house? Hope their home owner customers realize they're turning away excellent renters with this practice. Never ever go through Richard Beckman! Dave Hamilton specifically is the laziest person I have ever laid eyes on! I wouldn't even pay that guy to mow my lawn!!I have had no lights in my kitchen for over a year! There is a pipe coming from my water heater that has been wearing for 6 to 8 months and rotting the drywall out of my closet. I have been in the office over and over again to ask about these problems and every time I get deflected away and problem doesn't even get thought about much less solved. They will take your money every month and not do a thing for you! If you want to have a worthless realty agent then I suggest you go through Richard Beckman and Dave Hamilton. Also on all the reviews Dave H and devony are biased and false! They both work in the office there! If you have to have your employees right 5 start review for you that says it all! read more

Rented from this company last year 2016. Initially when you move in they're very nice, but after moving in it was a completely different story. They were very rude and would never return calls. I was going through an extremely hard time in my life and my then room mate just up and moved out on me leaving me with the burden of a huge monthly rent. I called the office to ask what I could do to get out of the lease and was doing my best to fulfill my obligation. I continued paying rent on time until they could find another renter, which come to find out they put the house up for sale instead of finding a renter. They were not even trying to find a new renter for the home, knowing I was struggling every month to pay rent on my own. I confronted them about why they have not attempted to find a new renter, and was told that the month before they already had two applications approved but were waiting to see if the home sold. Are you serious? When they finally rented the home, I had cleaned the home like it was when I had moved in, but they kept my 2,600$ deposit ( are they even allowed to do that?). Sad to say, but do not plan on getting your deposit back. To top things off they put a review on my rental history that I left personal belongings at the resident. It was a shampoo bottle & water bottle I forgot in the upstairs bathroom. I don't think this justifies putting a bad review on my rental history. Please beware of renting from this company. It was a horrible nightmare dealing with them. By far the worst company I have ever dealt with. I only put 1 star because it requires you to, but I'd give them - stars if I could. read more
