Was a patient of Dr. Eckstein at his former practice. Financial unaccountability and shady dealings affected my decision to leave. Decided to try his new practice. I believe the filling replacements on my tooth led to months of pain and eventual abscess requiring a root canal. And to make matters worse, when I decided to leave all paid up, many months later I was notified I now owed through an audit 300 more dollars. Funny how those audits never go in your favor. So, I have insurance. Covers my visits at 100% as well as my deep cleanings. My first visit I paid $123 extra because they said my insincerity's only covered 60%. Luckily I called my insurance and was told I am covered at 100%. They gave me a quote for my entire dental work of almost $1000. When it should have been $0. I don't even have a copay. Gave me the run around when I confronted them and refused to reimburse the initial incorrect charge of $123! STAY AWAY! Scam artists! read more

The office claims your insurance does not cover and expect the patient to pay out of pocket. The staff is rude and will not explain anything correctly. Hola, First off let me start out by saying that I'm the biggest Dental chicken on planet earth so going for a root canal almost brought me to tears! After meeting Dr. Ekstein and the office staff some of my anxiety did go away! Now that I'm about half way done with my teeth problems my anxiety is less and less every time I go. From the moment you walk in you are treated like a friend or family not like a "number" The DOC is gentle and doesn't have that "holier than thou" attitude. He seems like he really cares! I was looking for a new dentist and after reading the online reviews of Dr. Ekstein, I decided to give him a try. While waiting in the lobby of his office, I was struck by a picture that hung on the wall as it stated the mission of their dental practice. It said "Its not what we do, but how we do it." I'll go one step further in saying its not what they do, its also what they don't do. Let me explain. After being examined by Dr. Ekstein, he determined that I needed a crown for one of my teeth. He fitted me with a temporary crown and indicated the possibility that I may also need a root canal. But instead of immediately adding another procedure, Dr. Ekstein took a wait and see approach to see if the root canal was needed. It speaks volumes about Dr. Ekstein's knowledge and experience, professionalism, integrity and his commitment to patient care. Like most people, I do not enjoy going to the dentist, much less for a major procedure. But he was incredibly gentle with me and eased all of my concerns and made this procedure very easy to endure. The crown was done quickly, and more importantly, it matches the size and color of my other teeth and you cannot tell that it is not my real tooth. His incredible attention to detail and making the patient feel comfortable also trickles down to his staff of really great dental hygienists as well as the front office staff. Personally, I LOVE Dr. E! He is a great dentist, his quality of work is above standard, he is friendly, great with kids, and I would love to stay with him. His office is clean, our hygienist (I think Carla is her name) is also skillful and friendly. Unfortunately this year I decided to switch dentist because: 1. We switched insurance and he is out of our network 2. His office hour is very inconvenient. The office is open at 9 AM, with 2 hour lunch break between 12 and 2 PM (and during -- some of my messages were not returned), and is closed on Fridays. This makes it very inconvenient for working mom such as myself to schedule cleaning for myself and my son. The two appointments I had last year, made me wait extra 30 minutes -- although I was there on time. It seems like he already has a lot of patients that missing two (me and my son) wouldn't be an issue. But best of luck, Dr. E! read more

Went in yesterday for a cleaning and full exam. The front desk was very professional, the office was very clean and nice. Liz did my cleaning and was great at making me feel welcome and comfortable. She did an excellent job and explained everything to me as she went along. Then Dr Ekstein came in and he was just as great. After I was done, the front desk explained what I needed done, how much it would cost and how much my insurance would cover. Plus my husband got a gift card for referring me and $100 credit for his next appointment. I highly recommend this place! read more

My family and I had our teeth cleaned on our first visit. The front desk staff was very nice. Liz, my hygienist, was great! Very attentive! I had to come back to have work done and wanted to use my secondary insurance to cover the additional charges. I was told by the office staff that both insurance plans were accepted. AFTER the work was completed, I was informed that only one plan would be able to cover my charges. Long story short, I now have an almost $800 bill because the staff misspoke. I tried to work with the staff however I was told there was nothing they could do despite providing incorrect information. The office is great however be sure to get a quote IN WRITING before receiving any major dental work. They may not honor their word. read more

Short version is HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Was a patient for a many years but the doctor these days has NO bedside manner, the office is not easily reachable (even using email and leaving several voicemails) and seems to consist of mostly a whole new staff. Was left with sharp shooting pain after fillings that no one appeared to want to help with there. The hygienist Liz made you feel comfortable and at home but she is no longer there. They now try pushing products on you during cleanings which is so uncomfortable. I recommend finding another dentist like I am. read more

I will start off by saying that my entire family has been going to this dentist for over 30 years, and do like Dr Eckstein. However, we have seen a significant decline in the office staff over the past several years. They never get the billing correct, always under estimate what the insurance will pay and then send you a large bill afterwards (have had this happen several times). They used to have a great hygeniest (Liz) but she left (if anyone knows where she went please tell me!). Every time I've gone the past few years I've had to wait to be seen. My daughter recently had an appt which we were late for (and told them we were running late due to traffic when they called me 10 min before our appt to see where we were) When we arrived they said they could not see daughter because we were too late. (Even though again I've sat and waited in their waiting room many times). I was livid because took time away from work for this appointment and they would not see her (traffic is out of my control). Instead they took 10 minutes of speaking to us about it instead of just taking her in right away and being a few min late to the next appointment. Did not understand why they couldn't do that, since they've always made us wait for our appointments. Instead they told me we were always late which was absolutely not true, since as mentioned I've always sat in the waiting room waiting. We do like Dr Eckstein, but the management of his practice has gone so downhill the past several years and we are now switching due to this last incident. They lost 4 patients as a result of this past incident. read more

9/12/2016 I went to the office for a consultation for a teeth whitening evaluation . I found the office aesthetically pleasing to the eye!!! The staff at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. The dental exam rooms were clean and equipment state of the art. I was able to catch up on my daytime show for a couple of minutes before the dentist came in. I found Dr Ekstein pleasant, and easy to talk to. What a nice guy, not pretentious, and was willing to address any questions I had. I have to say the dental assistants were also very accommodating. Dr. E and his entire team are true professionals and made me feel like family. When I came to them I had a tall order of dental work that needed to be done before my wedding. They put together a plan and executed it flawlessly. Most people are scared of the dentist but not here. They treat you like family, greet you with a smile, and every room they have is warm and welcoming. They educated me on how to care for my teeth properly, did about 3 years of dental work for me in about 8 weeks, and for the first time in my life I can smile with confidence knowing the work that was done has transformed my smile into something I am so proud of. I haven't been able to smile with teeth in years as I was ashamed of my teeth and the damage I have done over the years. Every aspect of my experience with them was above and beyond what I had expected. They even gave me a little wedding present when I returned from my honeymoon. I have been going to Dr. E's., office ever since he took over for Dr. Edwards. I really appreciate how I am taken care of from the minute I walk into the office to when I sit in the examine chair till I leave. My hygienist (yes she is mine) Liz, helps me keep my oral hygiene pristine even though I over brush, floss and rinse. Dr. E., is an gentle giant and is very focused on his expertise. The office is maintained by amazing ladies that sit in the front, I can honestly say that I have never seen it look shabby, I have never been given a bill that I wasn't aware about. I visited this place for headache and facial pain symptoms . Please don't be misled by there website for headache . They are just misleading people with the kind of treatment they are giving . The way they checked was surprising and very poor . Doctor was not able to give me convincing answer for anything . They are just trying to cheat people . After I didn't came for further treatment I got a call from Doctor that he will be able to help me for 7 k $ . As expected I didn't visited them ever for the treatment .
