When the doctor found out I could not have the procedure done that I intended to have, they waived the fee - which was so kind. Had dental implants done here that cost $60,000USD+ between 2021-2022 front pair chipped recently and Dr. Samani claims they gonna cost $2000 to get new ones made and blamed me for breaking them. Aside from the implant issue the dental hygienist Nancy would repeatedly call me the wrong name for years despite my repeated attempts to NORMALLY and politely ask her not to (unfortunately I used to have an unusual foreign name prior to my gender transition) and when I attempted to address the issue with Dr. Samani he suggested I find another dentist. Staff are unprofessional and unfriendly. Do not go here. It's like they need to be trained even just to not give their clients nicknames. read more

I lived in Ridgewood fo 29 years, I need it a dentist consultation, i was interested on getting some inplants 5 and all and so I called the practice for a free consultation to see how it was going to get done and how much it would be. As soon as I called the lady that answered the phone said she would ask Dr Samani 1/2 hour later she called me back and said yes gave me an appointment two days later, she called me to remind me twice not to forget. Long story short while in the consultation the doctor ask me if he could make a couple of x rays I said sure, who hasn't had x rays done on your mouth right, when I was leaving he instructs the girl at the counter to charge the x rays, gave her a command word, she could not believe it either $525.00. so much for a free consultation. I was there 1/2 hour. Thanks Dr Samani. Did not see this coming specially when the job was in the thousands. read more

This dental group is run like a corporation, and has the pros and cons that come along with that (state of the art systems as a pro, impersonal, cold service and very pushy dental plans as cons). They have done a lot of work on me over the last couple of years. Last time I was in, my dentist Dr. Samani drilled the wrong tooth while working on a cavity. He actually drilled into and begun working on the wrong tooth entirely (a wisdom tooth, the next tooth over, which I need to have removed anyway, but still...). It's very strange to be in the dentist's chair, reminding the dentist which tooth he was supposed to be working on while your mouth is completely numb and you're drooling about like an invalid. So thats why the 1 star rating. The tooth cleanings by Dinah (I believe that's her name) are 5 star worthy though, she is great - very charming and thorough and does a really great job. But if you're looking for anything but a cleaning, look elsewhere. Update (07/25/12): I just learned that Dinah no longer works here. read more

I am the BIGGEST baby and have an extremely irrational fear of going to the dentist. I've had terrible experiences in the past. I only go see the dentist when I have an accident (last one was swimming and chipped a tooth) or some sort of extreme pain that is greater than my fear. When I went to Ridgewood Dental Associates, they were FANTASTIC! The office staff is so friendly ! The dental assistants are wonderful! Ive been a patient for a while and my experience has been wonderful. The front desk was able to handle my ins. questions, they were pleasent to deal with and knew what they were talking about. The Hygienists cleaned my teeth and showed me how to floss correctly. She was very personable. I didnt need any work done, but the Dr.s ( Samani and Joung )introduced themselves which was very nice. Haven't gone to or had a dentist in the past 14 years before i paid my visit here. Fortunately i haven't had a major issue with my teeth except my top left canine had a pretty bad erosion on the front(exterior) side and hurt pretty bad when i drink cold beverages. My 1st visit at RDA, Dr. Joung asked questions about the erosion and explained to me that I might have been brushing too hard with a manual brush with my right hand. During the same visit he filled the eroded tooth with matching color fill. The filled surface was smooth and flush. Needless to say, I bite into a cold apple and down a glass of cold seltzer water with confidence and without any pain. read more

I've been having dental issues this year related to fillings I had from another dentist, so I checked this place out after a recommendation from a friend. I'm writing this review after going 4 times in the past two months, once for the initial diagnosis, second for fillings, 3rd and 4th times for debridement and cleaning. Here are my thoughts: 1) Facility - Definitely one of the better ones I've been to. Location is in an upper middle class area on the 2nd floor of it's own building. The interior is nice with free coffee and cookies (slightly ironic). The dental rooms are decent, but most importantly I felt they were clean, which was one of the gripes I had at a different place. I don't really care about TVs and other amenities. 2) Staff - Receptions were professional and friendly. - Dentist: Dr. Joung was great with my fillings. It was bothering me for months from my previous dentist and it's been a month now after seeing Dr. Joung and as far as I can tell the problem is mostly gone. - Hygienist: Nancy did a great job with me. She's friendly and really drilled it in my head that I need to floss daily haha. I also liked how they check your gum condition and put the information in a computer chart. I've never seen that with other places I've had cleanings. 3) Cost: I had a dental hmo which wasn't covered here, so I paid out of pocket. This place does seem to be on the costlier side, but I've had so much grief this past year from other dentists that it was completely worth it for me. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

After thoroughly discussing all options, Dr. Samani and I made decisions together on what was best for the health of my teeth as well as my financial situation. Being that individual who hates dentists, seeing smiling faces when you first walk in is a comforting feeling. The entire office was very clean, and decorated beautifully. Drs. BEWARE!As a new patient I had my regular cleaning with some inexpensive extras (Fluoride) done which they told me several times were not covered by insurance. The dentist recommended a dental implant and that I should make an appt for additional X-Rays. I came back for the X-rays and as I was leaving the desk informed me that payment was due and that I owed almost 600 for the X-rays!Very matter of fact I was told that these kind of X-rays aren't covered by insurance.This is the SAME office that informed me 5 times about a fluoride treatment that would be an extra $20!!I have NEVER felt so robbed by ANY healthcare provider. read more

A new beginning.... I had my first visit today with RDA after 35 years with the same local family owned practice that had been sold. I had some trepidation going in knowing how comfortable i was in the prior practice. i am very very happy to write this review and to say my first impression was terrific. from the initial dialogue over the phone to the pre paperwork to my visit to the office today...it was all handled personally, efficiently and with care. from the time i walked in today. they knew who i was, they greeted me and they treated me. it was all very thorough and kind with some gentle suggestions. my overall description is that it was clearly owner owned by pros with pride and that extended through the capable staff. The advice i got was considerate, not at all aggressive as i had feared going into new surroundings, and very patient centric. the hygienist was terrific and communicated well, the Dr (Samani) could NOT have been more thorough or explanatory throughout my exam and all the way back up to the front desk. it was eminently clear how much pride he had in his practice and the standards they internally expected to live up to. I have been a patient at Ridgewood Dental Associates now for about 1 1/2 years. I had left my dentist in Teaneck after moving so choosing a new dentist was a bit intimidating and challenging. I did some research and decided to give Ridgewood Dental Associates a shot. I knew I needed extensive work (extraction & at least 2 implants) going in so I was eager to see what Dr. Samani had planned after my first examination and consultation. Dr.'s Samani and Joung were thorough when explaining the procedures and timetables needed to "fix" my teeth. I went home, thought about it, and decided to go ahead with the procedure(s). I am extremely happy with my decision . It was a very good experience from start to finish.
