Cancelled an appointment 49 days in advance and was charged $26.41 for a "Cancelled Appointment" fee. This was after they took several months to refund me for charging me too much on two prior appointments. They had informed me that my insurance wouldn't cover re-cementing a crown and then again for fluoride. Turns out my insurance covered both. Took from June to November to get a refund, and then I get charged for an advanced cancellation after I asked for my X-Rays to take to another dentist. Shameful practice. read more

I ask to have them realigne, I was told they can't be done. They have to be send of. The cost will be around $ 300 and take 4 to 6 weeks. All I've been trying to do all day was give them payment to schedule a wisdom tooth extraction. This process alone was pulling teeth. So stupid. If you're going to transfer the call to someone else who isn't going to answer the call and leave me on hold for 1 hour until I hung up because obviously it makes no sense as they're already closed, WHY DID YOU TRANSFER ME TO NO ONE THEN. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Elmore and her assistant. Very caring, professional and attentive. She even called on a weekend to check on my recovery after a procedure. I can easily say my experience with her was the best dental experience I've had. Unfortunately, though, it's not her practice. I came in for a cleaning that was supposed to be relatively inexpensive with my insurance. Right off the bat I noticed some inconsistencies. I had a 40 minute wait and considered insisting they reschedule. (I should have...) The hygienist couldn't tell me what my appointment was for and had to wait for one of their billing clerks to come 'go over' my treatment plan. They tried to up-sell me, pushed care credit and wanted me to have a years worth of work and unnecessary procedures completed all at once. (I had the treatment plan in my purse and conveniently highlighted the reason for my appointment, that had been confirmed upon scheduling.) They made me pay my portion up front, which was fine but also bothersome. It was over $50 higher than what was quoted on my treatment plan. They were VERY quick to say that the treatment was 'just a quote' and the price I was being charged was based off my current insurance coverage. (The same coverage I had 3 weeks prior when the bait and switch quote was generated.) I fell for their excuse and knew I needed a cleaning, so I begrudgingly paid it. Lucky me, I just thought paying more was the worst part. The cleaning was pure Hell. I'm pretty good about caring for my teeth, but this lady insisted I needed a deep clean. She held nothing back and made no attempt to warn me of the immense pain I would feel from her repeatedly stabbing my gum-line. She offered no numbing medication and relentlessly worked thru the tears streaming down my face. It was the worst medical / dental experience I've ever had. I even made it a point to consult with friends and family who had gone thru a deep cleaning + call other local practices for information. Every single one of them said I should have been numbed. I couldn't eat or drink anything without horrible pain for a full day after. After this experience, the billing clerk had to nerve to call and request I schedule a follow up appointment. Why? So they could charge me for it? Or, waste another afternoon trying to go the used car salesman route? No thank you. I wasn't even going to post a review, until I received the most ill construed 'statement of account' I've ever seen, and I work in accounting! At some point they must have decided the amount I was over charged wasn't enough when I chose to find another dental practice and have now added to the total I supposedly owed. The statement shows 'Over 60 Days Past Due,' but it's the first I've received. It has all of my appointments and the associated charges, miscellaneous insurance payments dated MONTHS after my treatment, with no accounting for what was covered and no correlation to the dollar amounts listed on any of the previous line items. They show no record of any of the payments (in full) that I previously made and the supposed 'past due' amount doesn't even equal the total of charges and credits they have listed. Not only are their hygienists incapable of common sense patient care, their billing department cannot come close to practicing approved general accounting principles. I now get to spend my morning consulting with my insurance over what the correct charges and balance due should be. To say I'm livid is an understatement. Any medical doctor or dentist that practices predatory billing practices and pushes 'sales pitches' to their patients should have their license revoked. read more

They're rude. They're expensive. They say they follow CDC guidelines for covid, but they're pretty selective about who they enforce that with. My husband wasn't allowed to come in with me, which is fine, we're grown, but another woman with an appointment not only brought her husband in with her, but talked with the receptionist about how she just wanted him there to keep her company. Then the woman proceeded to sit on the man's lap. As you can see, the waiting room was empty, other than them and myself. But, again, my husband couldn't come in to wait for me in the lobby. When I got there, I called the office (as instructed) and was told to come to the door. I came to the door and was promptly scolded for not calling first, and when I pointed out that I had called and was told to come in, the woman at the door told me to wait outside the front door until she called me in. No apology for making an assumption and being rude about it, just wait outside. To top things off, they decided they didn't have the time to do the procedure that I needed done, which I understand time constraints, but I was really upset because I was in pain and had an infection and could not take anymore time off. Their pockets, and their schedules matter more than anything else. And when I reviewed them elsewhere, they didn't address their rude staff, but felt it necessary to point out that I "left in a huff" the day of my appointment. I didn't leave in a huff. I left in pain. They showed their lack of empathy by responding to it by stating that I left in a huff, as though they didn't understand that I was in pain and frustrated because their other location had already turfed me off to them and I had been dealing with an infection for 3 days at that point. Skip this dentist. Heights Dental Center in Harker Heights showed compassion and concern, they took me as a new patient AND a walk in, they did my procedure and they charged me a fraction of what Dr Foss' office quoted me. read more

This office is good for the simple things but you should definitely not get invisalign done here. Go to a real orthodontist that knows how teeth should be aligned. At the end my smile was straight and he asked me if I'm happy with it. Not being a professional in the dental field, I said yes. After all, my teeth were straight. At this point the only teeth that were able to touch were my top and bottom front 2 teeth. He said this wouldn't be a problem and my molars would reach for each other eventually. Turns out leaving teeth in that position leads to chiseling and then chipping from the constant hitting of the teeth. This also led to increased pressure in the area which led to gum recession. I had to go to a real orthodontist to have them correct his mistake and that's when I was told that what he does is no different than ordering trays off the internet. No knowledge on how a bite should be aligned and the potential dangers of leaving teeth in that position. Going to him was a very costly and time consuming mistake which I am still, years later, paying for. Keep the 10k it will cost to correct his mistakes and find an orthodontist. read more

Like most people I absolutely hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Fossum, Dr. Elmore, and their staff changed that. From check in to check out, everyone was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable with their job. Dr. Elmore made sure I was comfortable and absolutely pain free during my wisdom tooth extraction. The financial team broke everything down right in front of me so I knew exactly what I was paying for and dealt directly with my insurance so I didn't have to worry about that. 5 stars are not enough for this team. read more

Be warned that if you ever get treatment for periodontal pockets, then you will be charged extra for every dental cleaning thereafter, and they will not tell you that up front. At the first cleaning after treatment, they told me the cost would be $60 when I was expecting it to be free since my insurance covers two cleaning per year. I was told that because I had "deep pockets" the cleaning cost extra. I said this cleaning was no different than any other cleaning I'd had and was told "you probably didn't notice the extra work they had to do." I have sensitive teeth and I'm on edge the entire time I'm in the chair, so believe me when I say, I would have noticed any extra poking and prodding being done in my mouth. I said I only want the free dental cleaning covered by my insurance going forward. At my second cleaning I had to pay $18, I was assuming because I had a balance for something else... apparently not. At the third cleaning -- my quickest cleaning ever! -- I was told again the cost was $60. I was given the same line as before why it was extra. I said I'd complained about the cost before, and there was nothing special about this cleaning. The clerk checked with the hygienist, and they agreed to change the code to a regular cleaning that's covered free by my insurance -- thank you, much appreciated! But then, I'm told I have a balance of $400+ to cover the balance of my orthodontic treatment. Okay fine. I knew there might be a difference between what I was quoted and the final amount. However, I was treated like I should have known and expected to pay that amount on the spot. Like, hello? How about warning me first?!? Maybe give me a call to explain that my insurance didn't cover everything? Maybe send me a bill? I was treated like I was being unreasonable for being offended being asked to pay a bill I wasn't aware of! When the clerk asked if I could pay anything today, I said no, I wasn't prepared to pay anything today, and she whisked me away with a terse "have a nice day." Five minutes later, I received a bill for the balance. Nice touch! I won't be returning. read more

I have not been to the dentist in more than 10 years due to severe dental anxiety. I made it my resolution for 2017 to overcome this fear. I had my first appointment yesterday with Dr. Elmore. The dental assistant Jennifer was absolutely wonderful. She was very patient and encouraging with me. Dr. Elmore took the time to explain everything to me and was able to calm my fears. Today I had my cleaning with Aspen who was fantastic and very friendly. Dr. Fossum performed a root canal and fixed a chipped tooth today as well. So far I have had very little pain and have to say the entire process went so much better than I could have imagined. I have more work to be done before I have the smile I want, but I can say without hesitation that I would recommend Dr. Fossum and Dr. Elmore and their staff to anyone in my shoes. read more

This place has always been my favorite dentist. The staff are all very friendly and you always see them smiling. I've always felt comfortable here and have had nothing but positive experience. They are very skilled and will go above and beyond to make you feel at ease while in the office. I'd say give this place a shot if your the nervous type when it comes to dentist for sure! My daughter has some issues and he and his staff go out of their way to make certain that she is comfortable. The staff and technicians are friendly and the office is very nice. However, going to them feels like a high pressure sales pitch. They're very pushy and recommend unnecessary procedures and overcharge for cleanings. Wow what a experience. They were quick to get me in but had to wait 20 mins past my appointment time. Office is very nice. All the employees (team members) are on the same page. The only problem is that page is not focused in the right area. While sitting in the chair I can here them talking about needing 1000 dollars to hit "goal". They took xrays, and the quickest pocket check I have ever had. I have been faithful with my dental visits my whole life and don't even have any cavities. I am a medical resident at Scott and White so I know the importance of proper health care. After this quick check I was told I had perio disease and needed scaling and root planing and antibiotics. Cost for treatment 600 dollars. Haven't even seen the Dentist yet! Diagnosed by the Hygienist. The pockets were 2's and 3's then 4's in the back quads. I have had perio checks before but never had a concern, and only received regular cleanings. I politely told them I would wait on that cleaning. They seemed disgusted that they weren't able to convert me that day. The Doctor came in, although pleasant, spent about 4 minutes with me and could not find any other problems. I did not ask him to recheck the probing. I left the office without a cleaning and went around the corner to Phil Davis and had the best experience I could have. They had a great staff and the office is amazing. No high pressure sales and what do you know, no perio problems. Never would have thought that walking into a dentist office would be like walking into a car dealership. Stay away from anything that has Fossum on it. read more
