I was scoffed at when I explained I have PMDD (".....what is that, you mean PMS?") and not listened to when I tried to suggest my acne that flared around my luteal phase on my chin and jaw may be hormone related. Instead he told me my "skin DOES look bad" and said I should get on ACCUTANE. Are you serious? I came in complaining of minor hormonal outbreaks on my chin and jaw and you immediately go to ACCUTANE? No worries - if I don't want to get on Accutane, Dr. Bloom also has a list of supplements *from Amazon* that you can buy including a "super concentrated fish oil that's basically accutane". He recommended going the route of ordering this mystery supplement from Amazon and self administering without clinical monitoring. Aside from zero appreciation for the fact that women may have different skin needs, Dr. Bloom flat out says he doesn't believe in sunscreen and that you should just stay out of the sun and get "a big floppy hat". I have since switched to a different dermatologist in the practice who immediately and correctly identified what was causing the minor acne flare during my luteal phase. This new doctor views me through the lens of a biological woman and takes my hormone fluctuations into consideration before saying I need to get on ACCUTANE and recommending I buy a bootleg accutane-like supplement off Amazon!! In fact they have NEVER scoffed in my face, recommended I buy random supplements on Amazon, or disparaged the benefits of wearing sunscreen when outdoors. Dr. Bloom does not seem to appreciate the biological differences between men and women. He seems to be taking big gambles recommending his patients buy random supplements and skincare off Amazon because "it's cheaper" despite the proven concerns of poor quality counterfeit products being sold by Amazon. And he straight up tells you that you should never wear sunscreen because he doesn't believe in it - just wear a big floppy hat and don't go in the sun. Find a different doctor if you want modern care that actually makes a difference.

I had asked the nurse beforehand if I could charge it, and it was out of the way, so his reaction left a terrible first impression. I went to see him for specific skin concerns and explained what I needed. Shockingly, he told me to order everything off Amazon instead of providing a prescription. As a dermatologist, his job is to prescribe the right treatment, not suggest random products online, especially without understanding my financial situation or insurance coverage. The appointment lasted only three minutes, and he barely examined my skin. I had booked a full consultation, but he seemed uninterested and rushed. Based on my experience and other reviews, I feel Dr. Bloom lacks respect for his patients, particularly people of color. This was by far the worst medical appointment I've ever had, and I hope the medical board reviews his practice. He does not deserve to continue treating patients like this.

There's a dimple in the middle of the scar at the top. She didn't know what was going on. Had me buy an expensive cream; charged me for two antibiotic injections into the lump; and pay for an IPL treatment, none of which helped at all. On top of that her bedside manner left lots to be desired. If for some reason you have to have her do a Mohs on your face, demand that a plastic surgeon close the wound. (Many insurance companies are open to that.)

She explains what will help with my concerns and is encouraging without making me feel scolded about my admittedly bad skincare habits. The treatment was really thorough (she asked about ALL the products I use - including my hair care!) and relaxing (I fell asleep during the red light therapy). She took the time to answer my questions and we even talked about some trendy skin care products/gadgets (she was down to earth about them and I really trusted her knowledge when it came to knowing what was -and wasn't- worth the expense and effort). When I say she was thorough, I should mention that toward the end the session, she noticed that I had a little dryness around my lip area and took the extra time to put a moisturizing treatment on my lips - you have to appreciate a girly that won't let you walk out with ashy lips! In this case, if a doctor has a patient base of hundreds of patients, the issue is what is the actual percentage of unhappy patients? (We just do not know.) It is also likely that aggregate review sites may be biased toward negative reviews, i.e., a dissatisfied customer is more likely to post than a satisfied client. And doctors do make mistakes, it is inevitable. The issue is more the frequency of errors and the consequences. Finally, the reviews themselves reflect the opinions of the patients - not necessarily the same as an independent review of an incident. Be guided accordingly.

Near two weeks out from that they left a voicemail to cancel the appt. I called back to see why and they explained that Dr. Graham had jury duty. As I didn't get a reminder by email, phone or text for today, I was a bit worried. Near 2pm I called the office just to make sure it was on. They said they have no record of the appt and that no doctor is in today. The receptionist than proceeded to say "if someone has to call in for an appt, than that's not how it works here." She then offered yet another date of Nov 27th... I said no - why would I do business with them if they totally failed on the two previous attempts? There was no apology and gas-lighting indifference on the other end of the line like I was making today's appt up. No apology, no remorse or sliver of empathy for stress and much time wasted.
