I asked his opinion of what might be best for my face and he suggested a brow lift and a facelift which included my neck. The thought of the brow lift initially scared me so I was reticent and thought perhaps I shouldn't do it. What I loved was that Dr. Lavey did not push me into the brow lift it at all. After another consult I decided to proceed with the brow lift in addition to my facelift and I'm so glad I did. What a huge difference. I was given a prescription for a strong pain medication to use after the procedure if I wanted, but I never needed anything other than over the counter Tylenol. All that worrying was for not because there was no pain with my procedures! It's more of a weird feeling because things are tight and numb. Incredible! Extremely uncomfortable and aggressive experience…read more I had one of the worst consultation experiences I've ever had at Blackhawk Plastic Surgery with Dr. Steve. I came in for a consultation regarding a tummy tuck and liposuction--something that already requires a level of vulnerability. Instead of feeling guided or supported, I felt uncomfortable, rushed, and honestly intimidated the entire time. During the physical exam, he was extremely aggressive. He was pinching my skin so hard that I left with visible red marks all over my body. At one point, he was so rough that I actually stumbled forward because I couldn't keep my balance. That is completely unacceptable in a medical setting. The interaction itself felt more like an interrogation than a consultation. When I said I didn't have more questions, he would stare at me in silence and say "what else?" in a way that felt confrontational rather than helpful. It came across as him trying to assert dominance, which made the environment even more uncomfortable--especially considering I was already in a gown and in a vulnerable position. I also asked multiple times to see before-and-after photos of patients with a similar body type to mine. While I understand that no two bodies are identical, his responses were incredibly off-putting. Instead of respectfully explaining differences, he repeatedly compared me to other patients in a way that felt inappropriate and unprofessional--making comments like how I "look way better than her" or that someone else was "way bigger" than me. Hearing a doctor speak about past patients that way was honestly unsettling and made me feel uneasy about how patients are viewed and discussed in this office. He also handled me carelessly--at one point aggressively pulling up my bra (even though I was told to keep it on), causing it to make a loud ripping sound. It felt disrespectful and unnecessary. I understand consultations are free and doctors are busy, but that does not justify being rough, dismissive, or making a patient feel uneasy. If anything, I would rather pay for a consultation and be treated with basic respect and professionalism. For comparison, I've had consultations at Tri Valley Plastic Surgery, where the staff and doctors were kind, professional, and made me feel safe throughout the entire process--exactly how it should be. No one seeking plastic surgery should ever feel scared or uncomfortable. Unfortunately, that's the only way I can describe my experience here. I would not recommend this office.

Even though I was nervous, he and his amazing anesthesiologist were always confident and have had several years of surgery experience. My recovery was strong- no pain or nausea, a couple of days of minor bleeding, managed with just mild medication. I also managed to sleep. And Dr. Mehta's post - op support has been incredible. He truly cares about his patients and has made a positive difference in my quality of life. I sleep better, and can exercise more. And I noticed better cardiovascular function aswell. He immediately noticed I had a bad infection before he removed my sutures, and likely ended up saving the work that had been done on my nose in the process. I spoke with five different surgeons in the Bay Area and she really stood out for her professionalism. More so than any other surgeon, my consult with her felt like a medical appointment as opposed to a sales pitch. She went into my medical history and went to great lengths to understand the results I wanted to achieve, especially as a smaller person trying not to go too big. She was honest, patient, and highly informed and willing to go into great detail about the procedure, which I really appreciated. Jolie (the practice manager) was also fantastic for laying out all of the details of the surgery and making sure it went smoothly. I trusted her enough to try a new implant (Motiva) that she hadn't worked with previously and do not regret my decision at all. The surgery itself went very smoothly and I had a surprisingly quick recovery (2 days of bedrest for 215-230cc implants under the muscle). Dr. Weintraub and Jolie were very responsive with the questions I had about aftercare. Three months post-surgery, I'm incredibly happy with the results and keep getting great feedback about how natural they look and feel! 10/10 would recommend this practice and working with Dr. Weintraub especially. Note: A lot of plastic surgeons will go to great lengths to market themselves, taking out advertisements and promoting their business so it's at the top of search results. I heard about Dr. Weintraub from a friend-of-a-friend and was way more impressed with her than all of the top-billed surgeons I consulted with. She doesn't advertise as much, but honestly she doesn't need to.

I asked Dr. Chin about a tummy tuck, upper arm skin removal and liposuction around hips and lower…read moreback. He advised that the tummy tuck would take about four hours and should be first. If I wanted to move forward with the other surgeries, they should follow. He advised that a quote would be emailed, which never arrived. I called the office the following week and the receptionist made excuses for the business manager, who was to forward the quote. She'll be back in the office Monday and you'll receive the details then, yet no email arrived. I called a week later and my calls (phone number) had, apparently, been programmed to go sraight to voicemail automatically. I understand that Dr. Chin didn't want to move forward, but why wouldn't he simply just say this during the consultation, e.g., 'I don't believe you're a good candidate for this procedure.' or 'I don't think I'm the right doctor to proceed with this. Let me recommend someone else.'?? In fact, he ended the consultation with "Yes, we can definitely do this. The front desk will provide a quote and schedule, if you want to proceed." Based on this experience, he and his front desk staff were lieing to my face (and ears), which was both frustrating and incredibly unprofessional. If Dr. Chin didn't want to do it, he should just say so and/or have his staff advise. At least, he could show a little respect for others. He should not take people's money (the consultation fee isn't cheap), then lie to them and have your staff lie, as well. If you want an MD like this, he'll happily take your money! I'd rather trust my surgeon, one with integrity and basic respect for potential clients (patients).
