I chose to have the PRP/Stem Cell procedure Dr. Richard Kim advertises, to address chronic pain/dysfunction in my knee. Dr. Kim predicted I could push total knee replacement out by maybe 5 yrs & reduce joint pain as much as 80%. I was excited for such results. Prior to the procedure, I was able to do most activities I enjoy, albeit painfully. I received PRP injection 1/4/22. In next 4 days, wife & I contacted Dr Kim's office many times with serious pain. Finally, Dr. Kim tested fluid in my knee. Result: staph infection. Emergency surgery on 1/9 & started on IV antibiotics. Infection travelled throughout my body, lodging in my spine. Hospitalized 3 times. Bedridden, with IV meds, commode, bed rails, wheel chair, & in-home nursing services for 3 months. Eventually used a walker, then crutches, then cane. Now, over 1 yr later, I can barely walk and do so with pain but still can't do stairs or most other activities I enjoy. Joint surgery no longer an option. Dr Kim is compassionate and knowledgeable and since this ordeal he has been very kind and helpful. But, the procedure is risky & was too good to be true. read more

Dr. Kim is absolutely THE BEST doctor you will ever go to! I'm not kidding. First of all, he will listen, respectfully. (I know I shouldn't have to say that). Second, he will thoroughly look at your situation (be that testing, exam, etc). He will not "just" look at an image in isolation. Then, solutions - here's the thing - he is an excellent problem solver and has more tools in his toolbox than somewhere else you may go. I went to several doctors trying to get help with knee pain. I learned the hard way that the corporate "factory approach" is not where you will get personalized care. Go to Dr. Kim if you want to improve functionally AND AVOID surgery.
