In November 2024, after meeting in person, I discussed a strategy with Jesse Caldwell. I made the first payment, and a letter was supposedly sent to Gastonia Home Improvement LLC--though I was never given confirmation that it actually was. Two weeks later, Jesse requested additional evidence such as videos and photos, which I provided immediately. Despite my repeated attempts to follow up, I received no meaningful updates from the firm for months. Then, in May of this year, I received only a voicemail stating that the firm had discovered a conflict of interest and could no longer pursue my case. At no point during those many months did anyone mention that a conflict of interest was even a possibility. As a result, I went from being a client to what feels like just a donor--one payment, no progress, and no resolution.

After our consultation, his suggestion was to have a will prepared instead of the more expensive route of trusts. Not only did he let me know what was necessary but also what wasn't necessary. He didn't try to up sell me on anything and he made sure that I was keenly aware of the process every step of the way. Also, he didn't rush me which was important and took his time. When it came time for me to sign my will, he went over everything again and pointed out some things to be aware of and what to do in certain situations. He again answered all of my questions, made great suggestions and made sure that I was comfortable with the final draft before signing. I am extremely pleased with the outcome of my experience with Stott Hollowell. The entire staff was very professional, worked in a timely manner and above all, they earned my trust.

Worst experience I could have conceivably had closing on a house as sellers with Knipp Law. We were…read morescheduled to close on the house we were purchasing at the same time and day as the closing of the selling of our home, so we had our own attorneys prepare the paperwork sent to them by Knipp and overnight the paperwork to them after we signed all the documents, along with emailing Knipp a copy of our closing attorneys wire transfer instructions. After signing all the paperwork for the closing of the home we were purchasing, we waited for Knipp to file the sale with the register of deeds so they could wire the proceeds from our sale to our closing attorneys. 2 hours after closing, we received an email from our attorneys stating that Knipp had just sent them a document for us to sign that they had forgotten to include in the original package. We signed electronically and our attorneys sent the document back to Knipp. An hour later, still no word that the wire transfer had gone through. We decided to call Knipp ourselves to see what the filing status was on the sale of our house. The paralegal handling our case told us that it had been filed with the register of deeds and they were awaiting confirmation that the deed had been recorded. Knipp also informed us that they were awaiting the wiring instructions for the proceed of our sale. When I reminded the paralegal that we had sent the wiring instructions several days ago, she told me that wiring instructions sent through email were not accepted, and needed to be sent through a secure messaging platform. Neither my wife and I, nor our attorneys had been informed of this; for some reason Knipp did not seem to think it was important to let us know that a specific method of communicating wiring instructions was necessary after we had sent them those instructions over email. After sending the wiring instructions, we waited for about 15-30 more minutes before my wife thought to call the Register of Deeds to see if Knipp had filed everything correctly, as we didn't have much faith in them at this point. Upon speaking with someone in the Register of Deeds, my wife discovered that not only had the sale not been recorded, it was not even showing up in their system. The sale thankfully popped up as my wife was on the phone with the Register of Deeds. Not sure why Knipp seemingly chose to lie to us about the state of our filing, nor keep us waiting around for THREE HOURS after our closing. Comically poor communication and clear indifference as to whether my wife and I were inconvenienced. Wish I could give 0 stars. Avoid Knipp Law like the plague.

They were extremely late getting my title to my Lender (meaning Friday at 6pm before a Wednesday closing and Monday was a holiday). Then the day before closing, they realized they left off $500+ in taxes after I had already wired the closing fees. Lastly, I closed almost a month ago and my Insurance company has not yet received the first year premium which was included in my cash to close. My experience in their office was that they are unorganized and not exactly welcoming. If I ever sell my home or purchase a second property I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I had gotten fed up with our realtor, and was looking for a different solution to sell our home. Hal was FAR less expensive than a realtor (as in, remove a zero) with a flat fee no matter the complications (no hourly attorney fees!). So after 3 months of our house sitting on the market with a realtor, we fired the realtor, hired Hal, and were able to drop our home price by thousands to attract a buyer while still netting the same amount. The price drop worked, and we were under contract in 4 days. Hal knew how to draft a contract that protected our interests much better than a realtor would have, and looked out for issues from the buyer's side to also protect us. He was also very responsive - to the point that if I didn't get a response to an email within a couple hours, I knew he must be in court or some other impossible-to-respond situation. He made selling our own home without a realtor easy and lucrative. He was also a pleasure to work with. He saw it through to the very end. We highly recommend.

Kimberly was the greatest and made this process the smoothest that it could be. She was is one of the most fairly priced in the area, b/c I owed a lot of debtors. I will say that she is the best at answering emails, but don't generally expect a call back as she is a very busy lady. When I needed her help with any type of issue, she was always right there to help me. She answered every single question that I had and I had a lot, because I had never been through anything like this and did not know anyone who had filed for bankruptcy before. One of the best things about their office is that I never had to go to the office, was you just scan all of the documents they need in online. I will say that Kimberly and her team are so great at keeping up with the documents that are needed. They had everything taken care of when it was time for court. Don't get me wrong, you are going to have to find a lot of documents to send them but this was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I had a situation arise during my bankruptcy process (due to my own issues, it was not due to anything on their end) and I emailed Kimberly and she said don't worry about it, I will take care of it. She emailed me back a few days later and said this is what I have done to take care of the issue, problem solved. Never had to worry about it again. I enjoyed working with Kimberly Sheek very much. Her and her team do a great job and I would personally recommend them to anyone. Actually, I have already recommended her to a couple of people that have asked about bankruptcy.
