For me, Acupuncture has greatly benefited my life and has become a regular part of my health care plan. I have worked with Dr. Britt Potter for the past few years for various health issues I have experienced. From regenerative nerve pain as the result of excruciating surgeries to dealing with my grief from losing my stepfather and the end of my 15-year marriage, Dr. Potter has carried me through. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he also has a lovely and caring disposition. I feel safe knowing he loves what he does and he comes to the table with a compassionate and nonjudgmental attitude. Dr. Potter continually delivers a consistent experience. No matter what symptoms I present, he intuitively knows just what path to take. He is gentle, but confident in his approach. I am afraid of needles, so he takes that into consideration with every treatment. He takes his time and waits for my permission to continue through the session moving at a pace that feels comfortable to me. I can honestly say that after even just one session I begin to feel relief. Dr. Potter also offers flexibility in scheduling making it even easier to book much-needed appointments. This ensures I prioritize continued self-care. If you are looking for a skilled, thorough Acupuncturist, please do yourself a favor and book with Dr. Britt Potter. I guarantee you will not regret it. Dr. Potter has made a true believer out of me that the work works. He'll do the same for you as well.

I wasn't sleeping well and having hot flashes. During our consultation we had the BEST conversation about my symptoms, diagnosis, food, and lifestyle. For the first time I actually felt heard from someone who was willing to treat me without a prescription to mask the symptoms but get to the root cause of my problems. Once we finished talking about what steps we would take I had my first acupuncture treatment. I felt relaxed for the first time in a long time. I went home with 2 supplements to start treating my hot flashes and to help me sleep. I started adding Redmond salt to my water and adding electrolytes into my diet daily. I was amazed at how well I felt 4 days in just from that small change and the supplements decreased my hot flashes ten fold and I'm sleeping better than I have in over a year. I thought I was doing everything right, drinking only water and eating low carb, no sugar and fasting only to find out I wasn't eating or drinking for my body and blood type. At my second appointment we agreed to start tackling my thyroid and Graves' disease. Under his care I have no doubt I will be off my methimazole completely by fall, if not sooner. Dr. Norris took the time and continues to take the time to guide me on this journey of healing my body and educating me. I have never been happier with any other health care professional as I have been with Dr. Norris. He has completely changed my life for the better and I cannot thank him enough for what he has done for me. Mrs. Bonnie is also amazing! They make the perfect team!!

Let me begin by saying that Michael Norris, owner and acupuncture practitioner of Deep River…read moreWellness Center is the REAL DEAL. Here's my story and why I make this claim. Two years ago, I developed hemifacial spasms. The twitching was so debilitating, I was unable to read for more than a few minutes before the spasming was out of control. I was miserable and didn't know what else to do. My doctor ordered an MRI which resulted in a referral to a neurologist and a neurosurgeon who discussed brain surgery -- it was that serious. I opted instead to take medication to try to control the spasms and was subjected to some pretty strong drugs. Some of these drugs resulted in night terrors, tremors and disorientation. None of these drugs were able to completely control the spasming. I was also injected with Botox which did nothing except to droop my face so it looked like I had a stroke. I am from California and had a top notch acupuncture practitioner there, but when I moved to Knoxville, I had difficulty finding one who knew what s/he was doing. That is until I came upon Michael Norris from Deep River Wellness Center. I began bi-weekly treatments on 6/13/19 and within two months, the spasms were completely gone. I have even cut my medication in half and hope to be completely rid of the medications soon. Michael has given me hope and relief which is worth so much to me. I got back my ability to read, function and begin to live life more fully. It's natural for folks brought up in western cultures to be reluctant to try naturopathic approaches to health. I was reluctant when I had my first treatment in California more than 20 years ago, but after my first treatment, there was no question as to the value of this approach to wholeness, physical health and emotional well-being. So go ahead and give Michael a try -- you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
