They offered a salad bar for $16.99 The hot bar was $18.79. Kids meals were all $9.99. I went with the hot bar because it had fried chicken on it. There were 4 different soups to choose from and all of the normal salad bar items. The pickled beets were really good. The skin of the fried chicken was soft from being in the steam table. Flaky with buttery caper sauce was rich and creamy over a bed of rice. My side was the salad bar which can hold its own as a meal all by itself. My husband ordered their famous 1lb pork chop. The mash was creamy and the Caesar salad side were good. Credit where credit is due.... The chop was cooked to temp however with the size and even with the red sauce it's basted with, my husband reported it a bit dry but he definitely enjoyed the process of eating it. The service as fine and we enjoyed the experience. We will definitely return next time we travel that way and try more on the menu read more

Planned on dinner here when we planned our Casey get away. The restaurant is beautiful and so different. Staff was warm and friendly. Lots to choose from on the menu. I went with the shrimp pasta and the salad bar. My dish was good, nice side shrimp. Salad bar was average. I ordered a martini that was very weak. My friend had the rib eye and she said it was fantastic. She also had the warm bread and she said that was amazing. Prices are a bit on the higher side. read more

Very nice place on the edge of town. Lots of dark wood reminiscent of a time before plastic tables and chairs. The server was very friendly and checked on us frequently. We were there for lunch and the Italian beef and chicken strips were delicious. Portions were very generous but you do pay a fair price. Here with a large party on a preselected menu. Prices high, portions way too big, and an 18% tip added in addition to a 3.5% card fee. One of the people at our table never got his order. He was not comped on his ticket and the delivery of the meals started failing after two tables. At our table two of us got food and the rest of the meals started to show up 20 minutes later. I would probably give them a 3 1/2. My wife ordered the Catfish Sandwich and it was delicious. I decided the get the Salad Bar and Hot Bar. The salad was great, but the Hot Bar was not that good. Probably because we got there a little late everything had sort of dried out. If we ever get back here I would order the Catfish and forget the Hot Bar. Sadly we stopped in to have lunch on Wednesday August 30 but ended up leaving. As we approached the front doors there was a couple walking out as well as a server/hostess. She even said hello to us and said "I'll hold one door if you'll hold the other". We walked inside to find nobody at the hostess stand. Walked in one direction to see three men seated in a booth. Looked at the salad bar and the hot bar then walked in the other direction to see a table of 6 to 8 people in their own room. Waited at the hostess stand for a couple of minutes then left. As we got into our car we saw the same server/hostess saying goodbye to the couple then walk back into the restaurant with no acknowledgement. She was literally 5 feet from our car. A slight step back in time is what you find when you step into Richards Farm Restaurant, staff that is friendly and helpful, portions that leave you full and with a small lunch for the next day and a tummy that is full and happy! We ordered the loaded potato skins appetizer and unlike most places that may give you 4-6 pieces our plate was piled high with no less than 15 skins!!!! I also had the soup and salad combo. My husband had the catfish sandwich. Mine was excellent all around, my husband felt there was too much breading on the catfish but otherwise okay. No room for dessert. I live in a big city not too far and the prices here OMG! High and overpriced is an understatement! My wife, son and I dined here Saturday evening. The catfish sandwich was too salty along with the fries. My wife had a burger and the server failed to ask what temp she wanted It cooked. It came out well done and dry. My son had the pasta dish and was short on garlic by far. None the less, we would not come back nor recommend. But again the prices...OMG. Their high online in the menu section and even higher in the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had high hopes because the building is very cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But that's it. Richards Farm Restaurant near Casey IL is charming and stunning! I extremely enjoyed the small-town feel from the restored 1930s barn. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which is how restaurants with this atmosphere are supposed to have. The food portions were plentiful and have a really great taste! The restaurant's restrooms are clean and ornamented very well! There is also a garden available to walk through during the summer months, which is extremely nice. Don't forget to discover the World's Largest Pitchfork and take pictures! This restaurant is off the beaten path of I-70, and deserves a five-star rating! read more

As a chef and foodie I wanted to give my honest opinion with my visit to Richard's Farm in Casey IL. Most of it is just my opinion and what I would do... but without good feed back you can't improve. So a friendly opinion. Well I hadn't been to Richard's farm since prob 1990 right before I moved away from Casey to Dallas Tx and at best I was 8 years old lol well I went there tonight with my best friend and his parents from growing up in Casey 1979-1992. It was cozy and quaint. The salad, soup, bread bar was nice but some of the vegetables were very low... there were crumbs and ends left of bread so at the end of the meal had to ask the waitress for some fresh bread and it was brought out with in minutes. I also noticed most of the vegetables were restocked as well. I ordered the " world famous" 1lbs pork chop. It was moist and tender and I liked the red sauce, it had a good flavor. I was a little disappointed in the presentation. I feel some green onion or fresh parsley on top would make it more visually appealing or even a sprig of rosemary on the plate. My niece and I had lunch here on a whim while visiting Casey. It was phenomenal! The salad bar was a little different than you would expect, it has more pasta type salad than the regular salad bar which left little room to put stuff for a typical salad bar. This is an amazing restaurant basically on the middle of nowhere. The only reason we stopped here is because we were passing through town and checking out all the 'world's largest' stuff (rocking chair, wooden shoes, etc. ). We were so happy to come across this restaurant. I had quite possibly the best country-fried steak I've eaten. Why was it so good? Besides the fact all the beef is sourced from a farm in Iowa, the country - fried steak is made from PRIME RIB. All the end come with 2 sides and the all-you-can-eat salad, soup, and bread bar. Neat little rustic farmhouse type restaurant, with homestyle menu. We ate off of the warm Buffet bar. The pricing was a little odd. You could pay $15.99 to eat off of the cold salad bar only, or $17.99 to eat off of the warm buffet only, or $18.99 to eat off of both. I'm not sure of why the salad bar is so costly at $15.99, because it was pretty basic. It appeared they had chopped romaine, a couple of cheeses and dressings, some bacon bits and croutons, but the rest of the salad bar was more like Cold side dishes, macaroni salad or egg salad or something like that. The warm buffet bar had really good meatloaf, some type of cheddar rice dish, cheesy mashed potatoes, and also had offerings of hot soups and chili, along with rolls and regular and cinnamon butter. We were traveling through and found this on Yelp. Cute decor and vibe. Friendly service. We both opted for the "hot bar." I believe it was $16.99 each. Salad bar was average and they had 4 different soups, which the 2 we had were good. A loaf of homemade bread was available and it was very good. On this day, they featured pasta on the bar which was fettuccine noodles with an alfredo and a marinara sauce and a lasagna option. We tried all of it but it was barely luke warm, barely, almost cold, so it was unedible for us both, which was a bummer. So, overall, I thought it was a bit pricey for salad, soup and bread. My family was in the area checking out the big items in Casey, IL (including the worlds largest mailbox) and decided to check out the largest pitchfork. Seems it was located at this restaurant. And my oh my did they deliver some good country cooking. I had the one pound pork chop. It was so tender it literally fell off the bone. I also had the cheese curds and Fried mushrooms. The curds were ok but I recommend you get the mushrooms. They were the best I've had in awhile. The building is essentially an old mill farm they turned into a restaurant. We stopped in Casey yesterday on the way to St. Louis. Gotta see all the BIG THINGS, right? While visiting the giant pitchfork we decided to eat at Richard's Farm Restaurant. I had the one pound pork chop while my husband had the Town House chicken. The chop was a bit dry, which is very likely when cooking something thick as your wrist. Flavor, overall, was really good. Mashed potatoes and green beans were also good home-y sides. My husband's chicken was pronounced delicious, along with the basic sweet potato and salad sides. The peach cobbler tasted like grandma made it, with an undercurrent of some spice we couldn't quite identify. The overall ambience is a throwback to the 1970's, 70s country farm style. Nostalgic, but really not offensive. We would certainly eat there again. read more
