Yesterday I had them install a new one again to replace the one that failed after only 5 years. Today I went to their store to discuss why the new one had failed so early and perhaps get a partial refund. The woman said that lasting only 5 years is common even though the industry standard is 7 to 10 years. I told her that the one replaced yesterday was an inch too short according to the Tech yesterday and that put it under excess stress. She agreed to refund $100 but said she was going to deduct it from the Tech's pay because apparently he shouldn't have admitted that the broken spring was installed too short. That made me angry and I refused the money. I will not use them for any work in the future and don't recommend them to anyone.

Maybe I caught the guy there on a bad day... but I had a key that was already cut, and I had…read moreswapped housings to a new one because the old one was old and wanted a new, better looking case with the remote buttons for a Toyota FJ Cruiser. I needed to get a new transponder chip for the key so it would start the vehicle since the one from the swapped housing was either lost or damaged when I disassembled the old housing. I had that key made a couple years and it worked perfectly but unfortunately (my fault) the chip was not working after disassembly. He had other customers and said it would be a wait, that he didn't know if he could do it from the valet key, it could take 15 to 45 minutes and then he stated he didn't even know if it would work. I explained the previous place had done it in about 10 minutes, and he said "maybe you should go back there." The shop which I had it done at was in Florida, so I said that was a bit far. ‍ I was courteous in my attitude, but he basically sounded like he didn't have the time or wanted to even mess with it. I would have gladly waited and paid the fee but the experience left me with a bad taste. Especially since it was only the chip, the key was already cut and the remote buttons already programmed. If he doesn't want my money or business, I'll just go somewhere else.

A few years ago, I had Palmers do a 50-year roof on my home. Great material, good bid, but some…read moreinstallation issues - the jibber-jabber crew paid more attention to the mariachi noise coming out of their boom box than the quality of their work. The ridge vent, which was not needed, was cut free-hand rather than striking a line to follow, consequently the opening was cut too wide in places, which meant the staples on some of the capping pieces didn't have anything but air to go into and so some didn't form to the roofline. On the bright side, when I called Palmers about this, it was immediately addressed with adhesive between the caps, but this shouldn't have been necessary, and the staples are still in nothing but air. Also, the crew removed some facia pieces and didn't replace them - I did. So, from my experience, I would say that Palmers is a good contractor but should train their crews better - just because something is out of sight doesn't mean it's not important to do a good and correct job.

Shameful for a firm with the self professed excellence they try to convey. just a better construction crook then the others. will never use or refer this from to anyone. Bad business practices.
