I left this review on Google but Richboro Veterinary Hospital said they have no record of me as a patron and that I must be mistakenly reviewing a different business, so Google took the review down. Here is my original review AND photos proving that they are LYING and that I absolutely was a patron of their facility, whether they're capable of keeping accurate records or not: I took my dog in for his yearly checkup on 4/19/2013 and he was due for his rabies shot. They gave him his shot. A few months later I needed to board my dog so we went back to get canine influenza vaccinations. In early 2014 we went back for his annual checkup and they gave him basically every vaccination they offer AND ANOTHER RABIES VACCINATION. I didn't learn they gave him the rabies vaccination until we got home that afternoon and reviewed the bill. I called them to ask why they did this and was told they must have been confused since his last rabies shot was at a different vet (it wasn't, it was at their vet not even a year earlier). They gave me a hard time about refunding the money for the unnecessary vaccination but finally agreed. Several weeks later I still had not received the refund. I called and they told me that they added a note to my account so on my next visit my bill would be reduced by the rabies vaccine price. THEY ACTUALLY THOUGHT I WOULD BRING MY DOG BACK TO THEIR FACILITIES!!!! But they straight refused to refund the money to my credit card so I washed my hands of them. The effects of the double vaccination on my 10lb dog have been HORRIBLE. He was a healthy dog and now he's RIDDLED with allergies and skin problems among other issues. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place ruined my dog's life and refused to accept responsibility for it. 3/22/2020 ADDITIONS TO RESPOND TO RICHBORO VETERINARY HOSPITAL'S CLAIM THAT I WAS NEVER A PATRON OF THEIR FACILITY: Please see the attached photos as well. Invoice #1: He had his rabies shot on 4/19/2013 (AT RICHBORO VETERINARY HOSPITAL) as evidenced by the "Reminder" to re-administer the rabies vaccine/annual checkup on 4/19/2015. He was one year old and this was the first rabies vaccination he'd had since the one he was given when he was a tiny puppy. Invoice #2: He was in for his first K9 influenza shot on 11/6/2013 - notice the reminder date for rabies still says 4/19/2015. Invoice #3: He had the second K9 influenza shot on 11/22/2013 - notice the reminder date for rabies still says 4/19/2015. Invoice #4: We went a little early for his annual checkup on 3/26/2014 AND OH LOOK THE RABIES REMINDER DATE CHANGED TO TWO YEARS FROM THAT DATE - 3/26/2016. I WONDER WHY. Oh, right. Because you gave him ANOTHER rabies vaccination. If Richboro Veterinary Hospital continues to deny that I was a patron of their facility, I am prepared to provide the credit card receipts (which are attached to the invoices in the photos I've included, but folded up so you can see all the information on the invoice) and corresponding bank statements proving that if I was never a patron of theirs, they owe me a heck of a lot of money back. You're responsible for keeping pets healthy and you can't even keep basic records. Unbelievable. You should not be in business. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VET AT ALL COSTS. read more

I Love Dr. Linn. He has taken great care of my Aussie and understands all of the genetic mutations that need to be considered with meds. Most vets have no idea what a MDR1 mutation is or how it can effect the dog. He always takes the time to explain everything fully and never acts uninterested in my concerns. Recently Dr. Linn saved my boys life when he had a cluster seizure. We rushed into Dr. Linn's office in a panic and he jumped into action immediately. read more

I've had better vets, but I've also had worse. The service you get at Richboro Vet depends largely on Dr. Lin's mood. I've brought several dogs there and sometimes the checkups are thorough, but other times I feel he skips steps...like saying my dog Maeby didn't need a heart worm test because she had one last year?! I recently brought in my dog Arnold, and took along with me a long list of his ailments. He was very dismissive of my list, and focused only on the fact that he was losing his vision. I asked about all of the other symptoms, but he said they were all as a result of his sudden "blindness" and seemed annoyed that I even questioned his expert opinion. Granted, I know my list was on the side of OCD, but I was very concerned. He referred me to an animal ophthalmologist at CARES, who subsequently ran a series of tests determining that it was either Immune Mediated Retinitis (IMR) or a brain stem tumor. The IMR was treatable with steroids, but the brain stem tumor was life threatening. After less than a week on steroids, Arnold's health went from bad to horrible. Through process of elimination, we realized it was a brain stem tumor, and nothing could be done to save him. Within a week of Arnold's ophthalmologist visit, he became a danger to himself and we had to make the very painful decision to put him down. We did this on a Sunday, and therefore had to bring him back to CARES, not Dr. Lin. I recently went back to Dr. Lin with my new puppy. During the examination, I mentioned to Dr. Lin that Arnold passed away. Nothing. Not even a halfhearted expression of sympathy. Just a blank stare. I don't know what I was expecting, but "sorry" would have been a good start. I must state, the ultimate outcome for Arnold would have been the same regardless of who treated him, but if a vet can't at least show compassion for his patients, then it really makes me question his commitment to animals. Needless to say, I will be looking for a new vet in the Bucks County area, and would love suggestions! read more

Like with humans and doctors, you don't really worry about the caliber of your vet until your dog gets really ill. Anyone can take my dog's temperature and put her on a scale---surgery is when we really get to see what these boys and gals learned in vet school. I took my dog into Richboro Vet because she had developed a giant---really friggin huge, man---skin tumor (that she kept biting, to boot). The friendly, down to earth vet explained my options. His conclusion? That I could learn to live with the ugly tumor (which my dog kept biting) or we could remove it for the value price of just US $350. On behalf of my pet, I opted for the surgery. And didn't this fellow do a swell job! My dog was woozy for only a few hours after the surgery, and within days she was back to her old self again. My mom keeps hastling me about the ordeal; she thinks I should have "gotten a second opinion" before I sent my dog "under the knife." Whatever. I trust these guys; they seem like they love animals. My dog is happy. read more

I agree with Lauren C. from Southampton, Pa who finds Dr. Linn very unsympathetic and really uncaring especially concerning animals he has been treating for a long time and with whom he should form a bond to take care of them to the best of his ability. I guess the oath he took when he became a vet is used at his discretion and according to his mood. I recently lost a beloved member of our family after almost 17 years. Dr. Linn had treated him from a puppy but never for anything serious just routine shots. He became sick last June with a mass in his bladder which was thought to be cancer. From prescribing a "liquid" med to be given to him for the rest of his life when a more dog friendly chicken chew was readily available to maybe calling me back with really no good information or advice should I call him. I should have gone to someone else right away. After 8 months my canine best friend took a turn for the worse. I called the office and told his receptionist that I needed to speak to Dr. Linn because he was much worse with bleeding and not eating therefore I couldn't administer the meds. It was important to only give this cancer drug with food (I had to find that out by myself. Linn never told me how to give the medicine nor that a chicken chew was available.) I was put into his "voice mail". I left a message thinking that the receptionist would tell Dr. Linn I needed to talk with him. My heart sank as the morning went on--I will jump to the outcome--he didn't call me for 25 hours to the minute from when I called at 9:20am the day before. Luckily, my daughter put me in touch with her vet. She treated my dog with the upmost respect and kindness. I still cannot believe that when I did finally talk with Linn he had no excuse for not calling me back sooner other than to say he had other clients to see that whole day. Can you believe that--I am so sorry that I held onto the belief he would be caring and compassionate especially when the animal's life was coming to a close. Dr Linn and his staff are professional as well as compassionate. This past week we had to euthanize our family pet of 12 years. The office was so helpful and compassionate. Dr Linn humanely put our dog to "sleep" prior to administering the euthanasia cocktail. We stayed with our pet and wept as she left us. Dr. Linn and his staff are always wonderful and caring when I bring my cats in. I appreciate that they do not try to "up-sell" you. I recently took my 18 year old cat in for GI issues. Of course we could do the million dollar work up but at 18 - it is not advisable. Dr. Linn recommended we start with antibiotics and if that does not work, we will go from there. I also have a diabetic cat that he has managed for over 6 years. I have been very pleased with the care provided to my pets. It is easy to get an appointment and I feel they are compassionate, honest and fair. read more

I felt that Dr. Linn and his staff were very unsympathetic. I took my cat there for 15 years until her last day and it was the most awkward and uncomfortable experience. You would think they would have more of a routine in place for those situations. We decided to change vets for my dog because she was having a lot of medical issues and did not feel Dr. Linn was to interested in her care. Very disappointed. read more

Dr Linn is an excellent vet. He and his staff were amazing through my last dog Pooty's end of life care. When we adopted our next dog Indigo of course we went to Dr Linn. He has a real affection for animals and you can see that he loves them. When we visit he is always happy to see us. Indigo had a growth in her mouth which restricted her eating ability and Dr Linn gave us straight forward, realistic options and we opted for the surgery. He did an excellent job and Indigo is now a senior dog living a good life thanks to Dr Linn. We board our dogs here as well and have never had anything but exceptional service. We have trained and bred Champion Working Dogs for over Twenty five years. We had added a new puppy to our home and I called for an appointment. Turns out my old Vet sold the business to this person. When I brought the Puppy in for her check-up the frist thing I noticed there were unattended Cats a big Parrot and the smell of Cat Piss everywhere! That should have been my red flag to leave. They saw the Puppy and gave her, her last set of shots. After receiving the shots the Vet became very pushy and tried to sell me all kinds of unecessary heart and tick and flea products, it was not the appropriate time. I also told the Vet we do not believe in heart worm meds we believe in an annual blood testing regime. He/She did'nt hear what I was saying and started talking down to me and insisted. At that point I just wanted to GTF out of there but was polite and gave the new Vet in the area a chance. One week later Lola was dead from massive virus. This Vet tried to save her by filling her with fluids ,selling me antibiotics for $120.00 and sending me home with a Puppy that should have been placed in intensive care! To this date they still send me bills for the unpaid medication which was never used. Don't take chances on your pets health! read more

We have gone to RVH for our one "little girl" who lived until almost 18 and our now two "little girls" who are 2 and 4. For the most part all of the staff and all of the vets have been wonderful and I am so appreciative of that.Our last vet, when we put our first "little girl" down did not sedate her and just gave her "THE SHOT" and it went horribly. She becan to convulse and my husband had his "heart ripped out" right there watching it. When our next one had to go over the Rainbow Bridge, we called and made an appointment; we walked in, the room was ready with a purple pillow. They gave her a little sedation. We talked to her and held her until it was time... and then the shot. I closed my "baby's" eyes and we just stood there for as long as we needed to stay. We thanked everyone and we left. They sent us a sympathy card, they sent a puppy paw print and some hair... I stil have them on my mantle. As a healthcare provider, I can say we are all different and our delivery is not always like you would like/want/need it to be. But, I will say that for the most part all of us care, but have to become desensitized or otherwise we could not do our jobs. Watching pain, suffering and death daily can take everything out of you. Flat delivery can be that someone is just not feeling well, something on their mind, or their defense mechanism-but it doesn't mean they don't care. Lastly, we as providers, be it human or animals, are well educated and do our best to diagnose; it is not an exact since and that's why I say we are in "practice" all the time. It doesn't mean that we aren't at the top of our game or that we are not good, it just means that you can find 10 clinicians and get 10 different approaches to the same condition/issues. We continue to go to RVH and Dr. Linn is "our" doctor. I do wish that calls would be returned in less time than 24 hours, which I have sometimes experienced greater time than that, but if it's an emergency, don't wait- go to the emergency vet hospitals-with three of them fairly local.
