I work in Philadelphia and Delaware County animal rescue for quite a few years, and this was my first experience at the bridge clinic in Bensalem. I was coming in for a dental exam for one of our TNR kitties and wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by their extremely organized process, they're very friendly and welcoming staff both on the phone and in person, there, informative and efficient veterinarian, and of course the cost was also well received. The written check-in instructions as well as the experience at the animal had were all five star process. on July 22, I scheduled an appointment to bring my dog in as a new patient. You are required to pay for the visit at the time of Scheduling in case you are a no-show. The first available appointment was August 5. I show up with my dog at her time and was told that I was 30 minutes late and that I would forfeit my deposit. I told there must've been be able to squeeze her in. I was told no they were fully booked. I asked why they don't send a reminder text or call or email and I was told that my phone went straight to voicemail yet they didn't leave a message for me at all. How can you just keep People's money when you didn't provide a service a professional the establishment would send a confirmation text, call or email so that you can have proof of your appointment time. This is a low cost vet clinic and I know that they provide a lot of services to people at a price that they can afford, but I cannot get over the fact that you cannot go in with your pet. You literally have to sit in the parking lot and they will come out and get and return your pet to your car. I was here with a foster getting some testing done, but I will not return with my own pet. Pets are already stressed going to the vet and not being there with them just makes it worse. I do think that there are low-cost spay and neuter program is fantastic and serves a lot of people and would recommend them for this service . read more

This was one of the worst veterinary experiences I've ever had. I brought my dog to Bridge for sedated x-rays after he had already been diagnosed the previous day with elbow and shoulder problems based on non-sedated x-rays. After I dropped him off at 8:00 AM, Allison called me around 11:00 AM to say she was "afraid" to perform the x-rays because if she found nothing, I was going to be upset. That conversation immediately raised red flags. I reminded her that my dog had already been diagnosed with two orthopedic problems the day before. I asked whether she was confident in her ability to interpret the x-rays. She told me she was, but also said there was someone else at the practice who was more experienced at reading them. She asked me five separate times whether I still wanted to proceed. When I picked my dog up later that day, Allison told me she found absolutely nothing wrong with him. I asked how that was possible when he had been diagnosed with both elbow and shoulder problems just 24 hours earlier. Her response was simply, "I don't know." After speaking with the manager, I was told I could pay an additional $165 to have the x-rays reviewed by a board-certified radiologist. I paid the fee. The radiologist identified significant abnormalities involving my dog's shoulder, including his biceps tendon, as well as problems with his elbows. In other words, the doctor who repeatedly told me she was "afraid" to perform the x-rays completely missed the very problems the radiologist later identified. What bothered me just as much was the response afterward. No one apologized. No one acknowledged how serious it was to tell me there was nothing wrong with my dog when there were, in fact, significant orthopedic findings. There was no accountability. To make matters worse, I've spent the last two days trying to get Bridge to communicate with another specialist who wants additional information about my dog's case. I was told Allison would be the one making that call. I specifically requested that someone else handle it, given that she had concluded there was nothing wrong with my dog. I was told that wasn't possible. Any conversation with Bridge feels like running into a wall. They repeatedly remind you they're a low-cost clinic, but that explanation doesn't excuse poor communication, inaccurate interpretation, or a complete lack of accountability when mistakes happen. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice. The combination of poor judgment, lack of accountability, and lack of compassion turned an already stressful situation into an unnecessarily frustrating one. The good is you can get an appointment sooner than later The price is reasonable compared to other local vets. The doctor calls you on the phone because you cannot enter the clinic with your pet. You have to wait outside in your vehicle. My cat arrived him in good spirits so I'd say he had a good visit. read more

I went there and I felt so uncomfortable that I left before they came to get my dog. They were going to examine her teeth. How do you know what they are doing if you can't go in? Ive been going to the Bridge Clinic since I adopted from Rescue Purfect in 2021. Not only are they affordable for appointments and medications, but they are very affordable for surgeries! Ive had two cats require surgery and they were the best. Ive had positive experiences with all the Veterinarians especially Dr. Marks who not only emailed me several times regarding my very sick kitty. But after having to deliver very difficult news she came out to my car to reassure me on my decision. I would definitely recommend. read more

This WAS a good non-profit vet practice, but it is losing its moorings. Their record-keeping has always been shaky on correct primary/secondary owners, correct contact info, and correct online pharmacy account. They now seem perfectly willing to turn away animals that arrive 15 minutes late, despite no other customers being present and a years-long history of on-time arrivals. One late appointment apparently puts customers into a penalty box requiring pre-payment going forward. TIMELINESS IS VERY MUCH A ONE WAY STREET with the Bridge Clinic. A few months back, I waited 90 minutes in the parking lot for a scheduled appointment to simply pick-up an allegedly ready prescription. Use Bridge if you must for cost reasons, but know that it is an assembly line, and that they have zero interest in maintaining an ongoing customer relationship. read more

Amazing clinic! I am from NYC and had to get my cat spade. The wait time was 8+ weeks and costs ranged from $250 to $1500, unless I won the lottery where a spade is priced at $125. The bridge clinic had the earliest appointment of everywhere I called and also the best price - only slightly more than the lottery price in NYC, but including all vaccines as well. Well worth the trip to Philly! Staff were friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Thank you for providing affordable health care for our furry cuties. The Bridge allowed me to save thousands (compared to my regular vet in Philly) on a teeth cleaning for my cat. Great service overall. Prices are doable. Intake and discharge process are a bit different than regular Vet. You may have to make a follow-up call for your pet's visit summary in writing and your receipt for payment. But office staff are friendly and accommodating. Wow what a great experience. Great rates. Extremely affordable. My kitten was spayed March 9th and today is March 28th. Her scar is barely visible! The vet is absolutely brilliant that did her procedure. Shes pure bred Siberian and they explained the difference with anesthesia etc so throughly. ...my dog swallowed a spoon. That's where it began. urgh Now that you know how I found TBC, let me tell you how they saved my dogs life. After inhaling a silver dinner spoon, Cheesy (dog) he needed surgery. Other than the routine spay/neuter procedure, none of my dogs have had a reason to have surgery. Obviously it's common knowledge that all dogs snack on spoons, I was hoping Cheesy wouldn't hop on that bandwagon. Wholeheartedly invested in the welfare of animals, you can see and feel it with EVERYBODY that works there. From my first call, they held my hand through the entire journey. Doctors job is a no brainer. Simply needed a pair of kids scissors and needle to stitch him up ;) The office and vet techs is the hard part. Their positive vibes is what got us through this ordeal. Having MS and epilepsy, Im no stranger to hospitals and surgeries. In the 20+ years of going to doctors, I NEVER received the VIP treatment Cheesy did. They did everything with a smile on their face. Not only are they extremely good at their jobs but you know they're there for their love of animals. The bill was insane! TBC knew all the right people that was able to help us. They truly went above and beyond. Cheesy is recovering well and the scar is barely visible. They were there to answer all my questions and knew the answers without hesitation. TBC rules!!!!!! Called the Philadelphia clinic regarding lack of positive FeLV test result disclosure for a stray we took in. Was contacted by Bensalem vet who obviously did not care about the lack of communication beyond offering an empty apology. We only found out about the undisclosed test results because we took the cat in again for a wellness check regarding different concerns. We are lucky that this cat hadn't had too much exposure to our other cat and hopefully she is okay. Other people may not be as lucky. The lack of care and lack of any reassurance that this wouldn't happen to other unsuspecting patients of their clinic speaks volumes to how they handle mistakes on their end. I told the Bensalem vet repeatedly that I had not received any communication regarding our cat's positive FeLV test, but he kept insisting an email was sent. I never received this email. I told the vet my concern about the other cat and he mocked my lack of knowledge about this disease in which he is the expert and I am not. I asked about the potential of complimentary testing for our other cat, because although we were keeping them separated, they still had some contact, and the Philadelphia vet had already recommended we get her tested. I again was mocked for my lack of knowledge regarding how the disease was spread and told that there's nothing he can do besides apologize. I was met with defensiveness through every moment of the conversation, as though I had no reason to be extremely frustrated about a terminal illness that we never would've found out about if we hadn't happened to take this cat back to the vet so soon. Again, we were lucky to find out before the new cat was fully integrated into the home, but this is still unacceptable. I'm sure the staff at the Philadelphia location is lovely, and everyone I spoke with there was kind and understanding of my frustration. But if this is their leadership, I can never recommend this clinic to anyone I know because I can't say with confidence that their concerns will be taken seriously. read more

It's difficult to wait outside in the heat while your pet is being seen. You don't see the vet. Most medical offices have opened since COVID is on a decline but they still don't allow anyone in. You only get to speak to a vet if it's necessary. The first few visits, the vet called me on the phone. The last time, she came to the car and told us our dog had bladder and prostrate cancer. She advised he be euthanized because he was suffering, which we did agree. Prices are great since they are a non-profit. read more

Care for pets can get costly and this clinic is a good option for many of the procedures. My dog needed one of her tooth removed and we came here to get a second opinion. After a consultation, we scheduled surgery which was a few weeks out. The procedures actually occur at another location!! We dropped her off in the morning and we were able to pick her up by 3pm. Not sure how much it costs elsewhere but we were charged $700+ for one tooth with medicine to go. The staff was friendly and it was easy to communicate with them. You stay in the car the whole time and they come out to pick up your pet. Overall, it was a great experience and there were many other patients having the same surgery when we went. read more

I went into the bridge clinic fully expecting to have to have my cats eye removed- my other vet told me that was the only viable option for him and wanted to charge me $6500 to do it, at the bridge clinic it would have been around $500. They don't even deserve a one star ZERO stars from me. My kitten got spayed on a Monday they did do the spay at the price of 76 dollars additionally with the feline distemperment and she was suppose to get rabies (she didn't weight enough I figured this would happen that's okay). When I went to pick her up as a new kitten owner I didn't really know the procedure that should have taken place and the supplies I was suppose to be given. My kitten Salem is about 12 weeks she's smaller. She wasn't given any pain killers and my baby just went through an extremely invasive surgery and had her stomach cut open. Given the scaring is small. But she's a small kitten so you'd imagine it would be more painful. She was whining, wincing in pain I felt like a terrible new cat mom with this happening. I'm thankful that I do know people in place (such as Vets) so I took her into an emergency appointment and had her looked at and given meds. You'd think that the place your cat got surgery at would have an emergency hotline. Nope. It's like a I took my baby to Mexico and she got a botched plastic surgery. Should've went to doctor Miami. I brought my cat here in 2018 for spay surgery. I realized a little bit later that she was going into heat. I called the facility multiple times about the issues I was having (granted this was when they were located in Feasterville-Trevose so there may be different doctors now). I was told to pay to get her urine tested; that it had to be a UTI. I told them over and over again that she was rolling around, backing up her behind, moaning, attacking people, it was pretty bad. I was told they would consult the surgeon and call me back, I never got a phone call. The phone tag went on for a bit. She went into heat again. Same situation but this time I was told that I would have to pay for exploratory surgery and if the surgeon found that it was an error on their part, then I would be paid back. I trusted them initially to successfully complete a surgery they have clearly done hundreds of times before. Why would I trust them to own up to a mistake they created? Sounds like a conflict of interest to me. 1 year later and I was finally able to take care of the problem: ovary left behind and found by a 3rd party. Just be careful with these clinics. I was warned before and now I fully understand. I get they try to help the community with low cost services (and that's great) but sometimes it's better to bite the bullet and eat the cost with someone you trust and know. read more

He had to remove 15 teeth from my elder kitty and we got proper xrays, and pain meds and my new muppet kitty has been much happier and now often found gnawing toothless-ly on my hand with a lot of gusto to start off when he feels like playing....before he runs around the house like loon. 10/10 will bring my cats here again. read more

After giving hope on adopting a Tuxedo Female cat... I found this awesome place! I tried PAWS/Animal Control/Craigslist and no hope... We came across my feline baby browsing the internet... It was Saturday afternoon and to my surprise they answer! A very nice lady told me a time and the address... We went that same day! The place looked clean and the staff is really nice and friendly... The cat room was full of kittens running around and playing with toys and scratchers... I felt warmth! From the kittens being free to wonder.. Not sad in cages.. So that really gave me a good feeling... The adoption process was fast and easy! And for my joy I found my baby kitten!! I was able to adopt her right the day of... I did not had to wait for it... We were told that our dog had 24 hours to get an extremely expensive emergency surgery or his chances of making it was little to none. We called over 20 clinics to get an affordable price and had no luck. We emailed this clinic as soon as we left the ER and they got back to us by the morning time! We were able to bring him in same day for emergency surgery. The staff was so caring, sweet, friendly and dedicated beyond words, they saved our baby and i am so grateful. They are amazing here and makes me believe there are good people in this world who arent just money hungry but love what they do! My wife and I rescued a Blue Tick Coon Hound puppy from the Illinois area. We brought her in to the Bridge Clinic to have her spayed. Needless to say, a dog bred to chase cat-sized animals, was only too happy to come to a building full of cats. She did fine, much less drama than I expected from her, but enough hissing from the cats that it sounded like a steam locomotive leaking. The staff were great, and when it was time to pick her up, showed me a side door so I could carry a very groggy puppy out without all the cats telling her what they thought of her. This clinic treated a new cat owner very badly and everyone needs to be made aware of this. The following is the client's story: My Cat Was Stolen On Monday the 4th of November, I took my cat to the Bridge Clinic in Newtown PA for his neutering/chipping. He was to be done months ago but the rescue kept putting of scheduling it. We got to the appointment and they had no record of the appointment even though the rescue had set it up. Then the people at the clinic were extremely rude and wouldn't let us use our own carrier we brought and made us buy a carrier inside of the Petsmart. Then they accused us of stealing when we tried to seek approval of the size. We never left the store so that was false. I ended up having to pay for everything even though the rescue was to cover it. When I got home, I tried to contact the rescue to reimburse me. They responded in e-mail that someone from the rescue went to the clinic and took my cat because of what went on. It's complete nonsense and I want my cat back because he's family and I love him :( I paid for him in June and he's been happy with me and now they are claiming a bunch of false accusations and won't answer the phone, block me, and lied to my face when I went to their house. I moved here right before Covid lockdown, but having had 4 cats (then), I knew I would have to find some place reasonable to take care of my babies. I now have 9 cats (well, one is my son's whom I am babysitting....for months) and a new Great Pyr Mix rescue! I have had not one bad experience with Bridge Clinic! Everyone is sweet, helpful, cooperative and bending over backwards for me....granted, I do spend a lot with them, but truly, I don't think that matters, I think they would be the same! And I am crazy for Dr. Mills! I now bring my babies only to him unless it is an emergency (which thankfully, I have not had). He is so caring and knowledgeable....gives me the time the phone to answer my questions! My only regret??? I have not (because of Covid) been able to meet him in person yet! Well, I can't wait!
