There are several reasons for this. The price we paid for the product and installation was very fair. They sell excellent products all manufactured by well-known, reputable companies. They are a local business with years of experience. Those are excellent selling points in and of themselves, but they were not the deciding factor. Brad Smith helped and guided us every step of the way. He went above and beyond to find answers to our questions since we were far from experts. He was kind, courteous, and extremely professional at every turn. He responded promptly to texts and emails. I could go on and on. Brad is the type of person we all want and deserve when we spend our hard-earned money. Unfortunately, this type of honest customer service is becoming more and more rare. Adam's Carpet, I hope you realize how lucky you are to have Brad working for you! Tom Proctor

People like Brad is who builds positive reputations for companies because everything that went wrong, he was all over it to remedy the situation with the hardwood floor installer. The carpet installer was seamless with no issues. Here are the issues we had: The hardwood floor crew got stain on my baseboard trim, few hand prints on my newly painted walls, and on the stairs spindles, skirtboard, and risers. I had to correct myself. He also didn't remove the painters tape on the entire stairs once the job was complete. I had to personally remove. There is a gap behind my 1/2 bath door and another area of my home where the installer didn't run the hardwood all the way to the wall. There are also areas along that wall where the hardwood was run adequately and there is cold air seeping through from the crawl space. We have not remedied this situation yet. On day 1, the helper was removing the 1/2 bath vanity. The helper didn't turn off the water and pulled the water line out of the nut that screws onto the water valve which resulted in flooding my bathroom floor (I actually happened to walk into the house in the middle of the issue). Water was standing on the floor, sprayed all over the walls, and drenched the inside of the vanity. I currently have water staining inside the cabinet from where it was drenched. Helper got the water shut off and said he was going to get everything cleaned up once his boss got back from lunch and have the floor dried before they laid the new hardwood flooring. Someone from the crew went into our personal belongings in the garage and retrieved 3 bath towels and used our baby's bottle container to collect water. The same container that's used to clean my newborn's baby bottles. Needless to say, we had to dispose of the baby container. There is a nail in the quarter round trim that is sticking out - still needs to be fixed or replaced. The floor cracks when you walk on it so I'm not sure if this is from settling or the installer didn't adequately dry the sub floor and there's moisture issues. Last thing is the installer didn't stink behind the toilet and you can see the color difference when you walk into the 1/2 bath because it's In the line of sight.

NC In Home Flooring is a great company to work with and chances are good that you will become a…read moresatisfied customer if you choose to work with them. I got connected with them through Costco, and going through Costco is a great way to buy carpet. My sales rep came out to my home and showed me the different types of carpet and gave me accurate quotes. The installers are sub contractors which is typical for the industry and they did a great job too. This is a company I would recommend without hesitation. Tips for buying carpet (now that I have gone through it): 1. Think about footprints. If you are the kind of person that squeezes the toothpaste tube from the bottom, you might also care about footprints in your carpet. Certain types of carpets hide footprints better than others and give a more uniform look. So if you care, ask specifically for it. All carpet however will still show movement to some degree. 2. Test the carpet like you will use it. A lot of carpet shopping happens on show boards where you will find yourself rubbing your fingertips on different carpet boards to compare. But what do you really do with carpet? Vacuum it, walk on it, maybe lay on it. Literally do all of those actions on the showboard carpet to get to know it. 3. Avoid the small swatch. When you are getting serious about a carpet and want to see the color, you might order a swatch. A 4"x4" size won't tell you much. Ask for the larger piece. You might have to pay a small fee for it but it will be worth it. 4. Buy based on warranty, but don't count on it. Search online and you will see that carpet claims rarely result in the homeowner getting replacement carpet. The warranty does however show you the confidence level the company has in that particular product, so it should be considered for that reason alone. 5. Know the two types of carpet. Most household carpet these days is nylon or polyester. Do a little bit of online research before your rep comes out and it will go a long way. 6. Observe color in 2 types of lighting. You might be surprised to see the color difference when the sunlight hits the carpet fiber vs. your overhead lights. I hope that these tips are helpful and hope that you have as great of an experience with NC In Home Flooring as I did.

Damaged furniture and left without informing us. We are concerned about our HVAC system and if the flooring was properly installed. Manager was extraordinarily angry, condescending and rude when he phoned me to discuss my request for remediation. If I could give the flooring back I would. Worst customer service experience of my life by far. I would caution you to do some research before working with Carolina in home flooring. I wish I had.

I called after your visit, but you didn't answer, so I left a vm and text. Later in April, I called you and you answered that time. I asked about the estimate. You said that Danae had gotten my online inquiry and that she'd get back with. I stated that I wasn't trying to rush you and was patient because I want you to do the work. I reminded you that you said, "2 to 3 days (April 14) but it wasn't until April 24 that I got a concrete answer that you will not be doing the job. My contention isn't that you can't do the job, but that I wasn't given the courtesy to tell me that you weren't interested in providing the estimate nor would be able to do the job. If I hadn't called or inquired, I would never have gotten an answer at all. How could I give you a higher rating? You only came to look at the project. I can't grade you on quality, service or promptness because I have no reference point to go by. My review isn't harsh but simply stated as it happened. Danae seems to be the person who makes the decisions on which jobs to take. Maybe a conversation she be had with her if you don't want more reviews like mine.
