The lychee rose cake had chucks of lychee in between the cake layers with a subtle hint of rose petal that complimented well with the lychee. Everything was scrumptious and it definitely caters to an Asian palate as it wasn't too sweet but just the right amount that you won't feel too heavy after devouring all 3 pieces of cakes! Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.

The cakes are still not that great to me. The latest cake I tried was the Dubai chocolate cake. If I eat it as just a chocolate cake, then it's good. As Dubai chocolate, it falls way short. It is lacking the kataifi (or knafeh) bits and I can barely taste the pistachio cream or tahini. The chocolate is probably overpowering the other flavors. Very pretty in presentation though. The blackforest cake is also lacking in the kirsch taste. I can barely taste it. Maybe I had a such a great tasting blackforest cake before that many places do not match up to it. Bottom line: just get the shortbread cookie. Get the cakes only if you're really craving it and this is the only place nearby for it.

They usually also have prepackaged shirinis that don't need to be refrigerated ready to go. You can also order customized birthday cakes and celebratory cakes from them.

The place is accessible to wheelchairs and baby strollers; parking is very available in the Garden City Centre parking lot.
