I love old General Stores and this one definitely lives up to the hype, it's well off the beaten path alongside a narrow road that winds through the piney woods. It's not likely you'll just drive upon this one, it's definitely more of a destination and in my opinion more of a museum than a retail store although they do offer some unique items for sell but you won't need a shopping basket here. This is a piece of history that should not be lost and I applaud those that have worked to keep it alive...

If you happen to be heading back to Orlando on 50 you will pass a sign for Historic General Store of Richloam. About a minute later you'll see a road on your right turn down and you'll be like there's no way, just keep going and you will be transported back in time. We were in for a real treat this afternoon a bluegrass trio was playing out front. We would have stayed longer to enjoy them, but the mosquitoes were a biting. The shop has lots of jars of pickled vegetables and jams, sacks of grits and flour, barrels of dried beans, coffee and pickles. Bottled sodas of yesteryear. Loose candy in gorgeous glass jars. Cast iron pans. They do take credit cards thank goodness! What is neat is how they've preserved the post office, fireplace and try to keep it mostly historically accurate minus the credit card reader. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Such a sweet little slice of history. Cute little historical store. Filled with jellies and jams, unique salsa, fresh coffee beans, old time soda's in the classic bottles, fresh scooped ice cream. Friendly down home service with a smile. There was a Gentleman out front playing the banjo and singing and giving a little history of the area and the store. It is oldest general store in Florida. It is also a Post office as well. Everyone should visit and learn a little history!

We've been aware of the Richloam General Store since its renovation and reopening around 2017, as we often pass through the area on SR 50. However, for some reason, we never turned down the small paved road leading to the store when we saw the sign. Last fall, I completed the Coast to Coast Bike Trail, and a detour from SR 50 took me right past the store. Unfortunately, it was early in the day, and they were closed. This week, as we were once again crossing the state on SR 50, we were determined to make the stop, and we're so glad we did. The store was surprisingly crowded with visitors when we arrived. As soon as it thinned out a little, we made our way inside and explored all the cast iron cooking implements available for sale, as well as the old toys, salsas, and various other items on display. What immediately caught our attention was the candy counter, where the different candies were presented in large jars, reminiscent of a time before modern packaging. You simply grab a handful and set it on the scale, as it's sold by weight. Of course, we couldn't resist purchasing our old favorites. Afterward, we headed over to the ice cream counter and ordered a couple of cones. It was very good and really hit the spot on a warm day.

Love this little gem of a store! Brought my sister with me today to check out this historical, wonderful, step back in time store! We enjoyed speaking with the locals and having help with our selection off sodas to buy. This place is always so welcoming and the staff extremely friendly. Stopping here made our day so much more memorable! We enjoyed the great selection of bottled soda, got some boiled peanuts and took lots of photos while listening to a man outside sing old tunes while strumming his guitar. There is also a terrific selection of toys that will make you reminisce about your younger days. Why not pick something up for a child you know and share those "good ole days" with them.

This is a fun little antique general store with a lot of nostalgia. If you are in the area you would want to try and visit.

While in the area, we decided to stop by and check out this general store. The older woman working was rude. Turned around and walked out.

Seeking certain items can become a challenge when walking through various aisles of a big store. I do love a huge selection of items but sometimes less is more. I was indeed grateful to find a few items I couldn't find at other stores/supermarkets to take with me on my trip back home. Customer service is also great, was able to find a store representative to assist with locating one item that was hard to get. I did do a price check on some of the items purchased and others I did not and found some to be less expensive than in my home area yet others were a bit pricier. Overall great store.

An extremely rare occasions they have a better price as well. This particular location is very well located by Margaritaville in Kissimmee and gets a lot of traffic through their store. My primary reason for shopping in this location was I was looking for anything they might have from the show/game Fallout. on this particular shopping trip I did not find anything worthwhile but while I was in the store, I picked up a couple of small items for someone else. Unlike other companies, I am rarely greeted by employees in target stores, but if I do need assistance, I can usually find someone. They have a very extensive collection of items throughout their stores with something for most everyone who chooses to shop here.

I have a gazillion of them, so i'm always looking for new pieces to "match" to my enormous collection. Anyhoo, she told me that this is where she goes to shop for hers as she likes to mix and match her tops & bottoms also. So, anyhoo moi went to check it out & she was absolutely correct. I visited this property because I knew a store I needed was still open and located there. What I visited was the bones of a once vibrant mecca for young and old alike. I posted a picture of the current directory and it's just a shadow of its former glory days! I wish I could say the parking lot was half empty because that would have been great! The lot almost reminded me of one of those apocalypse movies. All that was needed was a few rusted burned-out vehicles! My entrance had a little activity because of a Planet Fitness that was open. Another entrance had some sporadic activity as a movie theater was located there. Most of the anchors were vacant. My store was surrounded by vacancies. The owner said he stayed because the rent was now dirt cheap, and he was an older sole proprietor and didn't have the energy to move! If you need to go to a mall today, make sure you go online or call to make sure your store still exists. The days of a mall as a destination are over. Change is inevitable but whether it's for the better or not remains to be seen! One star.

Since I had some solo time, I took myself shopping because we needed another suitcase and I somehow managed to find the most perfect one. Bealls was totally new to me since we do not have them back home, so I was excited to check it out. It gave me Ross meets Home Goods energy, just slightly more expensive. I did a quick glance through the clothing section, but between the mannequins and styling nothing really felt like my vibe, so I skipped ahead to the other departments. The shoe section had some cute options, but even the clearance prices were a bit higher than I wanted to spend. Then I hit the suitcase section and immediately saw the one. Pink and black leopard print. Extra? Absolutely. Subtle? Not even a little. Did it have my name written all over it? Yes. I hesitated because it felt a little flimsy and it was about 80 dollars. I pulled up reviews and saw others mention the same thing, but most said it held up just fine. Walking away from it felt harder than it should have, so I bought it. Then there was the pink and white flamingo beach bag. I loved it. Thirty dollars though, so I talked myself out of it. For about 24 hours. I could not stop thinking about that bag and ended up going back the next day to get it. Best decision ever. I used it every single day for the rest of the trip and I already know it will get plenty of use this summer. I did not interact much with staff besides checkout, but the cashier was friendly, asked about their rewards program, and made small talk about where I was visiting from.
