We love the theater! Great productions! Great actors! So far the best has been Les Mis and, even moreso, Shrek the Musical! Awesome stuff! Tickets are always very reasonable and I love the old theater itself. My only wish is that, while they have a program for kids under 18, I wish they'd have something for little kids (around 5 years of age) without the kids having to already have a connection to the theater (parents working there or involved in the theater). read more

Richmond Civic Theatre is a fantastic local theatre, with a huge team of volunteers, acotrs, and musicians that really stretch the term "civic theatre" with amazing productions that show off their skill and knowledge of live theatre. From broadway musicals and comedies, to stage dramas and mysteries, the caliber of performance does not strain from one genre of theatre to the next. The directing staff stays fresh, rolling through known names as well as new directors bringing their visions to the stage. The building is newly remodeled, featuring brand new bathrooms, an updated memory room with recent years' production photos and memorabilia, as well as many other historical items throughout the building. This theatre offers three main production areas: Main Stage shows are the larger productions with musical numbers and larger casts, Studio Ten shows are geared more towards adult audiences with shows that may stretch into themes not suitable for children, Stage One productions are aimed directly at children audiences with fun and interactive shows for the whole family and featuring actors under the age of eightteen! read more

Oh Richmond Civic Theatre. You have changed my life. If you can be mildly entertaining and have an ego to fulfill, you should come audition for one of their shows. You will most likely get cast and then you can be a superstar! The quality of shows this small community theatre is able to produce is truly amazing. The nice lady who manages the children's theatre program is pretty cute too. I wonder if she'll go out with me. I can't get away from this place. read more

This isn't your ordinary community theatre. RCT has been a staple of the community for over 75 years and has continued to put out great shows year in and year out. The theatre itself is gorgeous and rich with history! Don't wait too long to get tickets though, they sell out fast! read more

I've only been twice, but I hope to get there more often. I saw "Our Town" and "Mamma Mia" they were both excellent times :)

A wonderful old theatre in dowtown Richmond. I've seen many performances over the years and they seem to get better and better. My personal favorite was a production of "The Drowsy Chaperone" - the acting was fantastic. They could use some improvements as far as the restroom situation as there are usually pretty long lines to use the small facilitiy. The theatre itself is lovely though. Worth a visit! read more

I've enjoyed myself every time I've seen a show here. Tickets are not expensive and I really like the atmosphere. I'm not always thrilled with the shows they pick, but there is usually at least one a season that I want to see. read more
