I love the Ridgewood Market!…read more This Sunday was the first time that I attended. It actually took place on Summerfield Street, which is right near my house (so I had no excuse not to attend!). So my local artisans and businesses were represented here! Not only establishments from Ridgewood (Norma's, Rudy's) but there are tons of other cool vendors from all over NYC represented here! MartiniHandmades (from whom I got an awesome terrarium and bracelet), an awesome empanada table, someone serving shrimp and grits! So many local artists, jewelry makers and thrift stores! I know that this market is awesome, because even my boyfriend, who usually does not enjoy these types of things, found several vendors, items and foods that he loved! Score! Everyone was friendly and some vendors even took credit cards! What a great way to get to meet people from your neighborhood and support local artisans! I can't wait to do all of my holiday shopping at Ridgewood Market!

It is categorized on Yelp as a "flea market" at moment, but that is really a misnomer; while there were a few booths selling used goods it is predominantly an indoor arts & crafts fair, with some booths selling food products to boot. This might be a good place to check if you were buying gifts; the majority of the goods are likely more appealing to women than men from my judgement. One aspect I do appreciate is that the vendor pool seems to display a relatively diverse range of ages, ethnicities, and tastes and the same goes for the crowd perhaps due to advertising that is also locally-focused; it doesn't feel so much like some of the similar craft markets held in other boroughs, but has a less-pretentious, very neighborhoodly Queens vibe. It seems to, consciously or not, embody Ridgewood quite well rather than attempting to replicate an outside aesthetic in this old neighborhood. Hopefully it becomes even more diverse and representative of the neighborhood as the event evolves. The best part is seeing so many people at Gottscheer Hall for a public event during daytime hours, as well as being able to get eggs and other brunchtime foods they don't normally serve.

I told him that the price was 45 Brand new I tryed to show him the price on the store but he won't see it, that's not the way you should talk with your customer. The price ticket was completely perfect but he said the hole was bigger and that gives me a really bad experience. I always stop and see what they have but I never thought the attitude of that person was going to make me write a bad review. But he really treated me like a bad person. I was on the fence after mixed reviews, and while some finds felt genuinely unique, others seemed a little overpriced. It's located under the Manhattan Bridge at 80 Pearl St. and has a mix of vintage clothing, jewelry, antiques, collectibles, art, records, and handmade goods. The vintage point-and-shoot camera table was the highlight for my teen and apparently a ton of twenty-somethings are drawn to those Canon ELPHs and PowerShots, Nikon Coolpix, Sony Cyber-shots, and Fujifilm FinePix cameras. Those cameras are having a serious comeback, thanks to their nostalgic early-2000s look of soft, grainy, flash-heavy photos that somehow feel cooler than anything your way more modern phone takes. The crowd surrounding the table never died down. My only regret is arriving midday so consider going earlier in the morning to browse without the shoulder-to-shoulder chaos. Open Saturdays & Sundays, 10 AM-5 PM. From Manhattan, the F to York St. or A/C to High St. My tip: Make it part of a DUMBO day, not the main event. FYI this is a pet-friendly event. There was also a comedy show, a band, skate yoga, plants, vegan food items, spices, jewelry, clothing and more. Got there around 12:15 or 12:30. Allow time for parking. Stayed until closing time. Take some time to enjoy the views and weather as well after shopping and eating. There are lounge chairs and picnic tables. Greenpoint Terminal Market is open from 10am - 5pm, Saturdays and Sundays. Definitely worth a visit but check the vendor list before you go since they change weekly. Having missed these events during the pandemic it was my first comic themed event since December 2019. Overall it was a fun time and great to see some familiar faces. In the opposite section was a large flea market which is also explored. This is apparently a regular event so please come on out if this is what you like to do. I plan on coming back sometime too as the summer gets underway. This is also the site of the Skyline Drive-in which has three screens hanging from the side of the surrounding buildings.
