It's wintertime and we wanted to do one of the most wintery sports you can do! Yes, it's an indoor rink, but we got to ice skate! ***LOCATION*** Although it wasn't in my part of town, it was really easy to get to. There was ample parking out front and our GPS took us right to it. ***EXPERIENCE*** I'm so happy we came here. It reminded me of the rink we used to go to growing up. I am by no means an ice skater. I loved that they provided buckets for me to go a bit faster on when I was tired of waddling by. They offered locker rentals for $1.50 to put your stuff in, but a lot of people (me included) left their stuff on the benches. They also had a lot of fun arcades games in the other room. ***PRICE*** It's $16 to enter and $4 for rental. ***BATHROOMS*** Some of the toilets don't flush and there wasn't enough soap to wash, but the bathrooms were clean and easy to get to in skates. ***CONCLUSION*** A wonderful spot to go ice skating all year long! They offer adult classes in July that I might end up taking because I had such a fun time skating here! read more

Great place and offers a military discount which is nice! It was VERY busy for public skate but that's expected. I almost left but was so happy when they zambonid the ice and it was back to being good as new. I look forward to going back again soon! read more

Pretty much the de-facto ice skating rink for the area...you can regularly find buy one get one free admission coupons in area coupon books (pretty good deal because admission is $9). Rental skates are $4 but a decent amount of skaters bring their own. They provide buckets (can be stacked for whatever height you need) to help provide balance, but I must say it seems like there is never enough... The skating surface isn't great but they do seem to put on a fresh coat of ice (I really dont know what they do...) seemingly at least once during public skate. I should point out that I've only used the rental skates so it could be that the skates may make the difference, who knows. They do have a cafe selling some food and drinks, I can't say I see many people eating but my group did so I have some photos of the food they got - mozzarella sticks (5 for $3.50) and candy! In the cafe area, they do have a few arcade games theoretically (skeetball was out of order and air hockey appeared to work). There was also a birthday party area. Girls said the mozz sticks were good.... They did not like the mini corn dogs though! read more

My family and I never been ice skating before, so we're all new to this location. Around 4:30-5 the day after Christmas we go inside to the front admission. It was just us and the front workers who said nothing upon us walking in. Only when I asked about admission did the female worker with nose piercings rolled her eyes and began helping us with paying for our wrist bands in. Other than that we had a good time figuring out how to ice skate. It's just real easy and unnecessary for rude workers to leave a sour taste on an establishmen. Shame read more

We came here for a curling lesson with a group of guys. It was a great time and we really enjoyed it. Some guys even joined a sunday morning league. I had never been to this location before but it was very spacious and you can't beat the smell and feeling of an ice hockey rink. It was a fun time to get out on the ice and curl and learn the game. We were given an introduction to the game and questions were asked and answered. It seems that everyone here enjoyed being there and showing other people how to curl. The lesson went great and we had plenty of chances to go and curl the stone. I would definitely go to this location again, even just to get out on the ice and skate. read more

This place is fantastic- I started going months ago and jus continued every week. They pretty much always have every skate size available in various styles (hockey, figure skate, lace up, etc), and the staff is super helpful and friendly. If and when you decide to start taking lessons, they're reasonably priced and well worth it. Even better, the personal coaches are FANTASTIC and people I genuinely enjoy conversing with on a regular basis. read more

Skate nation plus has a bar and better location but this rink is more relaxed and hidden. So it really comes down to what you prefer. Both of the rinks are managed by HNIR, which is only in it for the money and not hockey quality. HNIR has players playing in multiple levels to earn more money even though it ruins the point of having different levels of play.. read more

My girlfriend and I went here today for open skate and it was a lot of fun. All different ages and skill levels. Taking one star away because it ended up being $15 or $16 a person for open skate which is the most expensive I've seen. Maybe it's all like that in RVA- I'm new to the area. A little pricey but a friendly staff, consistently good ice, and plenty of room for folks to sit and watch. It can be very crowded some weekends with birthday parties (up to 6 - yikes!), but mostly during the winter when folks are looking to get out of the house. A monthly membership of $50 makes good sense if you plan to skate regularly - plus it supports this locally-owned business. read more

This is the worst rink I've ever being to. They don't care about players safety and I see my friends constantly get injured. Refs don't have a full knowledge of the rules and make unjustified and some times dangerous calls. Referees look like they hate their life and the only thing they care about is for the game to be over so they can collect their pay check. One of the referees is an owners son who has no accountability for anything he does. I would not recommend this rink to anyone who likes to play hockey. read more
