This is a place that makes miracles happen. My mom, 87 years old, had an open-heart surgery causing the complication of a massive stroke on 7/11/22. Her left side was totally paralyzed after the surgery. Jim Jordon, the facility owner, came to UCSF to introduce the RPAC and invited us to visit the facility. Mom moved in on 7/29/22, was fed on her g-tube, unable to lift her head or move her left limbs, her eyes only looking at the right corner, hardly talking, totally bed bound. The facility has outstanding PT, OT, ST teams, with skills, caring, patience, and creative ideas. They challenge patients with goals. Mom was improving every day, in sitting, standing, walking, and personal hygiene. PT put her on the wheelchair after a week and on the bicycle and parallel bars after 10 days. OT put her on the bedside commode when mom was able to sit more stably after a month, which was a huge improvement for her quality of life. They also trained the family members, so we could work with mom safely and skillfully in the facility and after going home. The speech therapist worked with mom to improve her swallowing ability. They offered her puréed food after 2.5 weeks, and gradually reduced her g- tube feeding. Her g-tube was removed on 10/5/22, after the satisfactory evaluations by the ST and the dietitian. She was later upgraded to mechanical soft diet, provided by their good chefs, and mom enjoyed the meals very much. They took her for the flu shot and pneumonia shot. The social worker arranged her appointment with an ophthalmologist when we had concerns for her vision. They provided the transportation for her UCSF and other doctors' appointments. Doctor, nurses, and CNAs took good care of her. Custodians kept the rooms in a clean and pleasant environment. They were very responsive to our family's requests. PT came to my house to provide safety evaluation 3 weeks before her discharge, so we had time to make some modifications in the house. They trained us on stairs and car transfer. Facility Maintenance staff came to install the railing for the toilet upon OT's recommendation right before the discharge. They also provided immediate personal supplies, so mom can start her regular life at home without concerns. Mom was discharged on 11/4/22. She was able to feed herself, walk with a quad cane with support, speak normally with clear mind, lift her left elbow up to shoulder high, and grab things with left hand. We are blessed and thankful. I can never say enough to express our appreciation. Jim (owner) was incredible, knowing his patients' needs, had good communication with family members, kind and generous. Kevin (PT) had so much patience and always encouraged mom; his "You can do it" is still ringing on my ears. Aimee (OT) was very creative, always came up with new ideas to apply what mom was physically able to do. Karen (ST) observed mom's food intake, guided her step by step, and advanced her to an almost regular diet. Roel (PT) set up great goals, and provided us tips to follow. Abe and Cristal (CNA) provided skillful and loving care, going above and beyond. It's like a big family, with so many other amazing people: Mary Ann, Karma, Sandra, Trilsse, Sylvia, Martha, Barthia, Irma, Anna, Tamika, and all. We know there is still a long journey for mom's full recovery. We will always remember RPAC's skillful, loving care and their generous support, and will continue using the tools they provided us for mom's wellbeing. Thank you all at RPAC! read more

Richmond Post Acute Care is filled with conscientious, caring, and patient people whose focus is on getting their residents back on their feet, literally. The list of wonderful things to say about this facility is longer than Yelp will allow. My uncle, an 81 year old patient recovering from COVID and trouble walking, said it best, "I love it here. The food is amazing, the people are superb. I could not ask for anything better. It's just wonderful." I agree. He's moving to assisted living, but keeps begging to just stay at Richmond Post Acute because he loves the staff so much. And the food. The meals are incredible. He raves about the "three square meals a day, with sides, and all the fixings, morning noon and night!!" Every time I've been there for meal service, I agree. It's top notch. It's hard not to steal some food off his plate. One night they were making some chicken and the smell of that cooking was better than any restaurant. Really, who can ever say that about hospital food? This is not hospital food. This is food made by people who care, and also know their way around a kitchen. Many times my uncle made sure to get out of bed, and hobble over to the kitchen to thank the staff. If that's not enough, the administration is so transparent, Jim puts his cell phone right there on the website. He was on the phone with me on a Saturday morning, making sure my uncle was getting checked in and answering any questions. The social worker, Roseanna or "Anna" is so resourceful, and she filled out all the county forms for us and introduced us to all the after care team we needed. The nursing team knows me by name, and always remembers my questions, and takes instant action on anything I ask or mention to them. They are so organized and helpful. Jeremy works nights and is just a rock star, but they all really are. I just saw him the most because I often went over after work. If I had to list a negative thing, I would say the parking lot is hard to get out of, so if I wasn't picking him up, I'd just park on the surrounding streets and walk a few houses down, no big deal. You can also park right in front in the red zone if you have a relative who can't walk far. That's as close as the parking lot, and a little easier if you're just picking up or dropping off. Oh, almost forgot -- the physical therapist and Molly, the OT are just amazing. They always updated me on things, gave me items to work on later with him, and continually interact with patients, even after their sessions. Her patience and generosity was especially poignant as I watched her working with various residents. read more

As an personal appraisal regarding my depiction to Richmond Post Acute, their personnel, services, and overall aura; one should only display sentiments involving graciousness alongside mutual appreciation, found not only from their patients to their staffing unit, yet from the staff to their patients. My initial experience after speaking with both Kimberly Keller (Director/Business Development) and Jim Jordan (Owner) upon convergence was their focus to establish blissful concern only to build upon comfort of said patients; their fortuitous values resonate beyond measure, and most of any previous inflictions, amongst the aid appertaining to their "Clinical Team". I came to Richmond Post Acute looking for help, and from day one they showed up for me. My meds were always on time, the staff were helpful, and everyone always had a smile on their face. The administrator even helped me get a haircut, which might sound small but made a huge difference. I honestly feel like a new man now and ready to get back out there. The people here are great and the treatment was solid. If you need a place to recover, this is definitely the place to come. I came in needing help and they actually showed up for me. The administrator is great and always trying to make things happen. Social services, Ms. Sandra, is one of the best in the business, hands down. She really cares and it shows. Taze (aka Mr. T) is a good friend and helped me negotiate everything and made things way less stressful. Therapy was amazing too, a really dedicated group that actually pushes you but in a good way. One of the best parts is the little things. They've got Andy Donut nearby which is a plus, and transportation is NOT a problem. They provide rides so you can get your business done without stressing. I've been here since oct 10- nov 30 recovering from Gillian Beret Syndrome ( which is like a nervous breakdown times 10. Before I spent 3 months @ UCSF. It's been a rough road through recovery. The staff here @ RPA have REALLY smoothed out the road in front of me. From the nurses, physical therapists, all the way down the line, they've been absolutely first class. It's Family here, they'll guide through your physical problems, and help you out with your exit plan, they surely care. I personally never thought I would have to be in one of the facility but if you have to go this is the place! Paul E. To Richmond Post Acute, I would like to personally tell all who read this review that Post Acute isn't just a place of care but a real family for me ;a powerful force who had my BEST interest at heart. I arrived at Post Acute on my back and unable to care for myself, however every person l met once becoming a patient, was kind ,caring, and giving; allowing me to leave on my feet. As far as staff goes, l would like to say that the battering-ram known as Kimberly, along with Jim Jordan and Bill Jordan , fought to accomplish all the needs of this patient . All of this had happened between 2020-21 during the beginning of the COVID-19 quarantine; which was one of themost chaotic timesin recent memory. The hospital sent me to Richmond Post Acute to complete a n antibiotic treatment. I'm so glad I was sent here. The tender loving care I've received is truly amazing. The facility has gone to great lengths to ensure health and safety in this unprecedented pandemic, TLC is not just an acronym on collateral material. The staff is well trained and works with each patient to help them heal and be strong when they return home.I have been treated with dignity and tender loving care throughout my stay. I was tested for COVID-19 before being discharged from the hospital. The facility put me in isolation for 14 days I was tested again to ensure I was still negative for COVID-19. There is a TV in each room, however, I also recommend bringing reading material and/or laptop (free wi-fi) cute Care, Sandra (assists the owner) has taken extraordinary measures to make sure my needs were met. Other staff members have brought me books from their home library and some have offered to pick up food I like that isn't on the menu. I highly recommend Richmond Post Acute Care! read more

Richmond Post Acute Care, is amazing, my husband was admitted in this facility, we were hesitant, from past experiences from other facilities. My husband was there for wound healing, a wound we have been dealing with for the past 5 yrs. Before getting transferred there, Jim was nice enough to go visit my husband at the hospital, I never got to meet him. Jim called to talk to me about the facility, he gave me Kimberly's number, I really love her, I never got to meet her, but she would take the time to talk to me, hear my concerns. She told me, that they have an amazing wound nurse, ( Roxy ) with so much knowledge, she pretty much guarantee that my husbands wound would be completely healed by the time he was discharged . My husband was discharge today, he was admitted there December 1st. Let me tell you his wound is 97% close to completely healing. The staff were amazing, very family oriented, I want to give a special thank you to Sandra, Maryann, Roxy, Rao, Jim and Kim. Highly recommend this facility to your loved ones . read more

From Marv: Great Experience! The quality of care, I received is amazing, they are family who looks over anything! Physical therapy, and occupational therapy is exceptional! I could not walk at all, when I was out of the Hospital. Ru'ell and his staff had me walking with a cane afterwards a long time. Management is very caring! Hats off to Dustin! The Dr Ng Diago was warm-hearted, taking care of me! The Social Workers worked with me, to change my insurance for the better! Anna and Sandra! CNA and Nursing took great care of me! My brother needed a place to recover after a serious illness, and thankfully he was referred to Richmond Post Acute. It is a smaller post-acute facility with truly outstanding staff. From Dustin, the administrator, to Sandra, the social worker, and everyone in between--including the kitchen staff--he received attentive, compassionate care and the support he genuinely needed. The daily stressors that often come with recovery were eased by their attention to detail and strong work ethic. No concern was ever too big or too small. Living far away, I was especially reassured by the clear and consistent communication from Sandra, who was always quick to respond. The best rehab facility in the area! My mom just stayed at Richmond Post Acute Care for 9 weeks after hip surgery. She was treated with respect and great kindness the entire time. The PT and OT are really good--she came out stronger than she was before she broke her hip. The people working there seem happy in their work and the director is on site, ready to help when needed. My mom was here at this facility for a few weeks just recently. I was very skeptical about putting her in one of these facilities to begin with because of all of the negative things I have heard and seen surrounding nursing homes especially since Covid-19...But to my surprise it was nothing like what I thought. When finding Richmond Post Acute Care for my mother during the pandemic was a tough time as mother was in critical condition/coma. After she woke up finding a place that specializes in wound care was difficult as very few places were open in San Francisco at the time. This is a nice amazing facility. Very helpful. I was hesitant but I did change my mind. Overall, a great facility. Give this place a chance because they aren't like any other facility. So far best one and only one I'll go back to if I have to go back .. hopefully not. My birthday just passed and Easter is around the corner & they surprised me with a little gift.
