I was blown away when I was in my appointment getting X-rays done and a very hairy dog was running around. I asked if Dr J was here ( knowing this would never be acceptable) I was informed he works two days a week now. The dog continued to run around off leash. I asked if the other dentist was in the office, the hygienist informed me that this was his dog that his wife brought in after they went to lunch. After the dog continued to run around the patient areas I finally said, no I'm not going to continue with the X-rays and refused to have a dental cleaning in this unhygienic conditions, I informed all of the front office staff as well. I better not even get charged for this ridiculous appointment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE WHATSOEVER. I have a dog, love her to pieces but there is no flipping way I would ever expect to see a dog running around for 20 minutes during an appointment. Totally unacceptable behavior on the dentist wife and the dentist to allow this unsanitary condition. Go ANYWHERE but here.

I had to have dentures placed and he was so gentle and did such an amazing job surgically that my recovery was unbelievably quick and not nearly as painful as I had anticipated. He had to remove all my remaining teeth due to a medication I was on for 6 months that caused my teeth to become brittle and break at the gum line. My old practice was a single dentist, a few dental assistants and a receptionist. You spend your entire visit with the dentist and he provides you an honest summary of your visit. The total visit is under a half hour. Biltmore Commons has 6 Dentists and at least that many dental hygienist and more dental assistants and receptionists. You spend the majority of your visit with your hygienist and about 2 minutes with the dentist. Because there is so much overhead you get a Spirit Airlines experience where you are constantly getting upsold nonsense. The hygienists are more like used car salesmen than people who clean your teeth. I have been to this place twice and they have tried selling me laser treatment ($100) night guards ($800), Invisilign, a Waterpick ($120), an additional cleaning, and they were going to try to sell me an electric toothbrush if I didn't already have one. The hygienists don't give up the entire visit until you say yes to something. The dentist never says you need any of these things. I never went through with any of these scams. And I will not be going to Biltmore Commons ever again. My first visit was 2 hours (with x-rays) and my second was almost an hour (without x-rays). I have a life and my time is not valued. My recommendation is to find a dentist with less overhead where they can pay for their practice with just regular dental work and not ancillary products.

She said it was the patient's responsibility to check with them if they have a balance due. Over those two years our family visited their practice probably 5-6 separate times for cleanings and was never once told there was a past due balance. She also told me that some patients don't check because they are hoping the dentist makes a mistake and doesn't account for their visit to avoid paying. Didn't appreciate the insinuation. Upon reviewing my bills (btw this was a small amount of money) all of the charges ended up being their billing mistakes by either incorrectly coding the insurance claims or not honoring their cost proposals for work completed. Please don't put yourself through dealing with this very unprofessional staff.
