Lovely park! We headed out there on Monday morning and it was great. We saw a couple of guys go through the park and cleaned up. The park is super clean and many trials. It has uphill and downhill for anyone who would like to jog around there as well.

    Pretty views in mid-cities?!? Yes!

Hill sprints!! Yes, if you want to get it in and get a great nature workout this for sure would be your spot. The park is great for some quick miles if you want to do some running or walking. As a distance runner I will say this probably would not be your spot for a long run per se, but it will get the job done. They have some spots throughout the trail that will surprise you with some crazy steep hills. I mean those hills truly knocked me off of my feet with how steep they were! There are also some views that will make you think for split second that you are not in DFW anymore. As far as parking goes there is plenty of spots and some pavilion areas if you are meeting up with family. I also probably would not venture out here after a certain time of day, it's not quite in the best of areas. But during the day, check it out for sure and bring friends to get a nice little workout in!

Hey guess what! Klyde Warren Park is no the only park in Dallas/Ft. Worth!. I really like this place because it has a cool play area for the kids and paved walking/jogging trail that is big enough so that you don't get too bored quickly. They also have several picnic areas and open spaces to play. I have never seen this park overly crowded and appears to be very safe. In the summer there are plenty of paleteros to by ice cream from. good times.

Hurst Texas Rickel Park. In memory of a beautiful baby boy named Johnny; for me.

Great park for a quick walk, nice hills and flat areas. Small park with a playground too.

5 miles of walking and jogging trails, a picnic area with tables, a couple pavilions, and a great playground that's relatively shaded.

Out of the four that piqued my interest, this one was first on the list. Looks like there were other trails branching off from the main one, but I stuck with the main walking path. There were benches and informational signs scattered along the route. All of them worthwhile in reading. Unfortunately, I was saddened by how much litter I found. Irresponsible and narcissistic people. Boooo! The Nature preserve was well worth the time spent and effort to drive out here. Check it out!

The best thing about Arlington is all the trees and hills. North Texas is mostly flat and DFW isn't known for its foliage, but there's quite a few spots in Arlington that really feel "far away." There's true hills and canyons and forests and creeks. You can be in the center of the metroplex and still feel lost in the woods. Crystal Canyon is such a spot. This park is so pretty. I appreciate all the little signs that explain the trail and history of the area. Crystal Canyon gets its name from all the crystals (gypsum) to be found in the vicinity, particularly the creek. There's a few beautiful bridges and benches. The hike is fairly short but super scenic and enjoyable.
