Parr Park is not only fun to say, okay, it's an all around good time for anyone seeking a park moment -- be it running through an open field, discovering tree-covered trails, or exploring their equipment and amenities: a cool playground with tons of climbing structures, an exercise station, and a large "sprayground" splash-pad situation that runs during our everlasting summers. You can also rent a pavilion here for parties or gatherings (affordable!), and it includes electricity, covered picnic tables, and close bathroom access. Speaking of bathrooms, and I know park bathrooms can be scary, these ones really are pretty clean! Parr Park is big and clean and lush and green. It's connected to the Bear Creek trails, so there really is a lot of nature to explore. There are almost always people around so it's never too quiet, but it's still big and forest-y enough that you could feel a little bit lost in the wild, if you wanted to (I do). read more

This review is more like a 4.5 out of 5 stars. this review is strictly for the rock trail... I'm sure the other parts of the park is nice, but I really wanted to check out the rock trail. I saw pictures of it on social media and wanted to see it in person. To get there, I parked at the church at the cross. Not sure if that's the proper parking lot, but I parked on a Sunday and it was Sunday service so plenty of other cars were parked next to mine, and I wasn't worried about being towed. If you park at the church at the cross, it'll take about a 10 minute walk to get to the rock trail. The rock trail isn't long, but it's so cool to see all the different artwork people have painted onto rocks. They also encourage you to take a rock home to paint and bring it back next time to add to the park. There are certain segments of the trail that's dedicated to certain things... Like sports teams, TV shows or colleges. I highly recommend spending an afternoon here and take your time looking at all the different rocks. read more

We went to see the rock trail. It requires some walking, about 15 mins to get to the trail. However, we were enjoying the view and kept taking photos everywhere. When you get to the trails, you'll know why it's worth it. So many beautiful arts and fun designs. We would've bring our own designed rock there next time so we can leave ours there too! This is a cute park with splash pad that my daughter and I stumbled upon. Very family friendly atmosphere. The design of the park is a bonus due to it having limited blind spots. That's a major plus since my little one likes to run from one end of the playground to the other. read more

Met some friends with kiddos here a few weeks ago. The place was packed as there was a birthday party. All the kids were having a blast. A lot of playground equipment and a water area for warmer weather. The only reason I couldn't go with 5 stars is because some of the equipment had open areas where a child could step right off- fall - and break a bone at minimal. My girlfriend said the parks get around that by putting signs on the different areas of what age the kids should be. Well okay but when a 7 year old is excited you can't tell me there is a huge difference in how much attention they are paying compared to a 3 year old. From a grandmother's point of view they could both step right off. ‍ Anyway it was a great visit. There is plenty of parking, picnic tables and restroom facilities. read more

Beautiful park in Grapevine. We spent a lot of time walking the trails, including the art rock park area. So much to see. Thousands of rocks and room for thousands more.. Trails are wide and clean. While they were crowded, most were doing what they could to social distance. The main bathroom area was also clean and well maintained. read more

Love this park! Great splash pad area that has different cycles it goes through. Has some covered spaces to sit and also a pergola you can sit under. Great choices in playgrounds, there's something to do for all kid ages. Clean bathrooms. Although the toilet flushes are pretty loud. There are three different parking lots that I could see, possibly more spaces. It looked like there were good walking trails too. Definitely a must try! read more

Great outdoor activities for the kids to climb & play on - basketball courts too. There are nice walking trails towards the tree line. The walk to the rock park inside is about a mile into the trails, so be prepared for the distance if you park at Pharr Park parking lot. If you want to reach the rock park quicker, it's easier to park at Church of the Cross and walk the main path into the trails. Look at my pics and map screen shots to get an idea of distance from the Pharr parking lot vs the Church of the Cross parking lot to the rock park. If you park at the church lot, go back all the way to the left back corner. The rock path has a nice variety of art rocks. Kids and adults will enjoy equally. I am posting only a FEW of the rocks I saw. I really should crank out a review for this park, but we were here at night, so it's not going to be a typical experience. We were here the night of July 25, 201. Description: Join us on Wednesday, July 25 for #NationalMothWeek and enjoy nature at night. Starting at 9pm, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas Master Naturalist Program are coming to Parr Park to set up lamps & baits to attract moth species. You can also learn about local bats using ultrasonic bat detectors and gaze the moon and planets with the Ft Worth Astronomical Society! All ages welcome #GoGrapevine https://gograpevine.com/event/midnight-mothing/ It was quite a nice event. Very interesting. Also managed to pique my interest in the park, which I would now like to see in the daytime. It has a nice walking path, and I heard some running water and a waterfall. And one of the coolest discoveries was the bat sound amplifier boxes on site. Bats use ultrasonic sounds we humans cannot hear. But with this box we could hear the bats. Very cool. Search "Batbox Duet Bat Detector" to learn more about this cool device. Bottom line: The only thing missing was a food truck (but maybe that would have been too much light and noise). read more

I took my fur-baby here for a walk today since its finally getting cool enough to be outside. The trail I went on was half shaded and partly sunny. It also had quarter mile markers. PLUS it has doggie bag stations, water fountains along the trail (one for the pup too). It was still pretty warm that day so I only did a mile walk. But there is tons of play area for kids to run around and nice bike paths. They even have the road seperated with lines. Let's just say it was big enough for the family next to me who arrived at the same time, go on another path and I did not encounter them for the time I was there, we even left at the same time. I plan on going back and exploring further on a cooler day. read more

Incredible trail full of thousands of painted rocks. The trail was started during the pandemic to spread joy and positivity during the community. Rocks have been sent from all over the world, including Australia, Europe, Asia, Canada and most of the US. As of May 2021 over 8,000 rocks were on the trail. This is free to the public. Just don't take the rocks as they are meant to be enjoyed by everyone. Great place to take small kids, to hike to, and is enjoyed be people of all ages. If you're looking for something fun to do outside, near DFW airport, this is a must do. I'd encourage everyone to stay on the trail as with any wooded area there is poison ivy. read more

I'm 100% convinced that this is the nicest park in the area. It's very well maintained, there's lots of parking available, they have clean restrooms, plus all of these features: - a football field - a soccer field - lots of sidewalks for walking - a volleyball court - a splash pad - a really cool playground for little ones and bigger kids too with a huge spiderweb climbing thing - an electronic interactive game to get the kids moving - tons of picnic tables in the shade - lots of seating areas/ benches - several covered pavilions My kids loved it. Usually when we go to a park, they're whining before too long that they're bored. But they are in heaven here and told me that this is their favorite park of all. :) read more

Recently visited this park briefly and I was impressed! The actual jungle gym structures are excellent and looked like they could provide tons of fun for many hours for kids of all ages. There's also a cute little water spout area where you can cool off during those hot summer days (any of those in TX? :). I liked that there were baseball, soccer areas, a volleyball net, and basketball all relatively close to each other, in addition to some extra grassy areas. The grass, itself, looked pretty well kept and not all weedy as found at other parks. Downside was that there is only 1 basketball court and its in a parking lot which is weird. Didn't use the bathrooms but glad there were some there. Seemed like there was plenty of parking available too! read more

We feel super lucky to live within walking distance of this park. I walk my dog on the trails regularly. My daughter loves the playground and splash pad. We also walk on the wooded trail so she can look for turtles in the creek. The park has pretty much everything you could ask for: - restrooms, water fountains in park & on trails (including ones for dogs) - 2 playgrounds - one for tots and one for bigger kids - splash pad that is open from late spring through summer - electronic activity game that gets kids moving - soccer, baseball and football fields and a new basketball court - shaded picnic tables near playgrounds, 2 small pavilions and one large pavilion that can be rented/reserved, other picnic tables scattered under the pecan trees - paved wooded trail that follows a stream (heads towards Hwy 121) and has some new side trails - paved semishaded trail that ends at Pool Road (this one goes by a butterfly wildflower field - workout area with workout structures and instructions We love the nature aspect of this park. The trails are great and we've seen plenty of squirrels, birds, butterflies, turtles and even an armadillo! Lots of folks use this park for walking dogs, biking, running, working out, playing, nature walking and picnicking. It's a fun place for kids and adults alike. read more

This park has a great playground for the kids, and back in the beautiful trails is a super pretty creek to play in for the kids! Not for swimming, more getting your feet in. It's a beautiful and rare location tucked away in the metroplex and where my family and I got our family photos done! read more

Nice splash pad! Great playground area for older and younger kids! Even has a musical, light game where you have to push the buttons as they light up. The bathrooms are close to the play area and are pretty clean for park bathrooms. The only problem I had with the park is that there seemed to be quite a bit of trash on the ground. Not really the park's fault, but it could have been kept a little cleaner. Over all, I would still highly recommend this park. read more

Parr Park is extremely nice, well kept and wonderful to take the kiddos to! Its nestled back at the edge of an affluent community in Colleyville, and is always packed to the brim with families, Camp Gladiator groups, runners, dogs... the works! Sometimes its a bit crowded for my taste, but the kids love it so we truck on. They've got a spongy cool ground of sorts that breaks the babies' falls, and keeps tootsies cool in the blazing Texas summers. They've even got a great splash pad for the tots to run around in. It opens in late March and stays open until roughly September. Lots of open grass for soccer groups or picnicking, large oak trees for shade. And several great pavilions for birthday party set-ups, but they go like hotcakes on the weekends, and ever day of the week in the summertime, so get em' while they're hot! read more

This is my favorite park in the mid-cities area! I have been coming here since I was a little kid and love getting to take my own kid here. We love it so much that we have been here every day for the last 5 days in a row (the weather has been too beautiful to stay home). This park is nestled back in some neighborhoods of grapevine and could easily be missed if you don't know it's there. If you happen to go there on a weekend it is sure to be flooded with families of all ages. But because it's so big you don't ever feel like it's too crowded. We were there yesterday and there were people flying kites, having cook-outs, soccer games, picnics, cyclists, roller-blading, etc. The playscapes for the kids are awesome! My 16 month old loves running around and I love that they have playground equipment suitable for the younger tots. The playground for the older kids is amazing as well. I know that we will frequent this park for many years to come! read more

Best park I've ever been to. It's huge and has all the amenities, including a really cool music game and a splash pad that is open when all the others in the area seem to be closed. We live this park! It has a huge play area with structured appropriate for all ages. The spray ground is a huge hit for our toddler too. Lots of shaded tables and places to sit. We've never had an issue with parking and the bathrooms are clean. read more
