It has…read moregreat play area for kids, huge lawn, softball/baseball/ soccer area, somewhat shaded parking (depends on the time of the day), a great walking/jogging area around the park, benches, picnic areas with grills and even a nice creek for kids and adults to explore and deep their toes. Lots of trees for those who seek shaded areas and lots of sunny areas for those who want some tan. The park is well maintained and always clean and the grass is cut on regular basis. If a storm rolls through and tree branches break, it doesn't take long for the city to take care of it. Did I mention that it's a great place to walk dogs? There is a public restroom building with separate areas for men and women, that is the area that needs the most attention and could use the help of the visitors to keep it cleanER. Considering that it's a public restroom no one should expect it be sparkling clean. It is clean (to a point) and stocked with toilet paper. The covered party area has electricity sockets for your music and whatever it is you might need to charge and garbage cans are available all around the park. Please use those. Come and enjoy whatever part of this park tickles your fancy but please, pick up after your dog and clean up your mess too, we love this park and would love to continue enjoying it as it is.

Most of the people tend to use it for the walkways around the perimeter of the park, and the playground/pavilion area. It hasn't escaped all graffiti, but it's a modest amount (and from what I saw, it wasn't vulgar). I only have two complaints. Why have the restrooms so far from the playground/pavilion area? I guess it was for public safety reasons, but it's a bit of a walk to it. And this place needs more parking areas (tiny, tiny parking lot). Other then that, I like this little park.

This park is so beautiful, we love walking to the pier and watching the tadpoles and fish swimming around. There's a long walking trail which we didn't get to walk all the way down today but we will have to make time for it. You can't go wrong no matter who he path you take, you will find picturesque scenes everywhere. In fact, there was a photo shoot taking place today while we were there. Relaxing pre-lunch outing, I'm sure we will be back again.

This is a beautiful park, in many ways far superior to the more popular Bob Eden park. It's a perfect walk for a hot summer morning. The park also boasts a pond with fishing pier and a very sweet little bird watching area, a nice gazebo, and a small (but fun) playground. The playground is FULLY SHADED by the mature trees surrounding it. The only negatives to McCormick park, so far as I can tell, are the absence of both a bathroom and clear trail maps. There is one map that gives an overview of how the main trail connects to the different parks, but I think there ought to be a more detailed trail map at every fork in the trail. And not having bathrooms is a serious drawback for people with kids. I pushed my luck too long this morning and my 2 year old peed her pants. Parks need bathrooms!

It's new-ish and fun enough for a neighborhood park, but with many outstanding parks in bordering cities, this play structure (and frankly, all the Bedford playgrounds) fails to stand out. Because they've been so spoiled by other parks, my kids claim this one is boring. Objectively speaking, I think it's a fine park for a neighborhood. It's certainly better than Carousel Park down the road! We like the open space and mature trees surrounding the playground. Harris Ryal's proximity to the Bedford Linear Trail is also convenient. We like to take the kids bike riding along the paved trail and this park is a nice little stop along the way. Unfortunately there are some pretty big drawbacks that keep us from visiting Harris Ryals as often as we might otherwise: 1. No bathrooms - with 5 kids that may have to pee or poop at anytime, there's a limit to the amount of time we can spend somewhere with no bathroom. 2. No parking lot - you can park along the street on Cummings, but my kids exit the car from the left side and this dumps them right onto a busy street. Not ideal. 3. No shade over play structure, and no shade over most of the seating areas. 4. Bizarrely low bench seating. They know it's the parents who sit there, right? They were installed at the correct level for a 2 year old. 5. Bark flooring Today (a November Monday around 4pm) there were lots of kids there playing, but every other time I've been, we are the only ones there. Maybe that was just because of COVID. Or maybe most people, like us, just drive to a better park.

It's easy to get to with just enough parking spaces. There's lots of large trees that produce a great amount of shade. Basketball Courts are very popular. An exciting game was going on. There's one piece of playground equipment that resembles a sandbox but, it spins! There another piece that looks like an inflatable chair, spaced out from each other, like a See Saw. You can slowly rock yourself. If you haven't been to Randomill Park, you should put it on your to do list. There's something for everybody.
