Propane gas is available for refill or tank swap. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Every time I go there I am greeted with a smile on entry and asked if I need assistance. The staff is very knowledgeable and I can always get help with whatever project I am doing. They offer a military discount and a rewards program that are very helpful. Whether you need to get your lawn back in shape or tools for a job Ace is the Place!!! And the staff really is helpful!! My next project is getting the yard ready for Spring so seeds are mulch are on the list for this week.

On my first trip I was inquiring about whether they had more closet bracket holder than they had on their shelf. An older guy was helping me, and we started to walk towards what I was talking about, when he looked at someone else in the aisle over and asked them if they needed help. They proceeded to send him on a 15+ minute ordeal finding who knows what. Despite the fact that the guy was helping me first, he somehow just stopped and helped them. I left the store, and I don't think he even noticed. I went somewhere else, where they had what I needed in stock... But I needed to get wooden closet rod, so back to Aviston I went. The older guy had already looked up in the computer that they had it and it was sold by the foot. So on I went to the service desk to have them pull it. They only had one 18' length, and they told me I had to buy the whole thing. I didn't mind that, but then they told me that if I wanted it to be cut down the length I actually needed, it would be $5 "setup fee" on the saw and $1/ cut. $6 to cut a piece of 1" closet rod for something that's priced by the foot? No thanks, I just took the whole thing and let it hang 10' out my window. It took about 20 seconds to cut with an old jigsaw. I can understand not wanting to cut wood, but if you're a lumber yard and can't cater to simple requests without charging an arm and a leg, it's no wonder people in Highland go to the big box stores all around. I've had no issue getting Home Depot to cut various things for free. The service desk has a sign on it that reads "Buddy is old and gay" -- in plain customer site. It looks like a 4 year old wrote it, but I'm guessing it was a co-worker. I don't know who Buddy is, but I doubt he thinks the homophobic jokes are much funnier than I do. While I was at the service desk, I got out my credit card, at which point she said we had to go to the front register. I asked if I should bring the wood with, or if we'd need to go back to the service desk. She said she didn't care what I did. Literally in that tone. Rude rude rude. I used to go here 3x a week as a kid, and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have shopped here so much if the employees were this rude and unhelpful back then. It's amazing this place manages to stay in business.

I was purchasing something from a vendor on FB and we meet in the parking lot of Tractor Supply. I arrived early and since I had never shopped TS, I went in to browse around. Upon entering I was pleased to see that they offered affordable preventive vet care on select Saturdays. That is great outreach to the local community. I was also pleased to see that they enforced mask wearing and social distancing in the store. While I browsed the store, I found a good variety of dog treats and bought a couple bags to take to the local 5 A's Humane Society. Two other sections I found to be fairly impressive were the gardening tools and hand tools. Once we get into spring and planting flowers in my new backyard, I be revisiting TS for sure. When I first entered the store and heard chirping, I though at first it was background noise being played over the intercom. To my surprise, it was live baby chicks and they were making the noise due to feeding and cage cleaning time. If a pet store has small pets, I guess it is appropriate for a farm store to have baby chickens to sell. When I went to check out, I got a giggle. I had to ring a cow bell to let the staff know I was at the register. The staff was friendly and when I did ask questions, they seemed to fairly knowledgeable. I'm glad I took the time to go in and expand my shopping experience. I now know what they have to offer and when I am in need of those items, I will return to support a business in my new hood. Also, many financial advisors are recommending have a safety fire box in your home. When I went shopping for mine, I was surprised some of the safe boxes were not fire or water safe. If I'm going to have one, I want it to survive a fire and the water putting out the fire. I found the size I needed, so the next decision I had to make was, key or keypad. I'm old school and went with a key over the digital keypad. It will be easier to open when I am dead and gone. Pricing was good, the difference between being fire protection and not was only about $30 and key vs keypad was $10. So, whatever way you want to go, I say the pricing is totally affordable. Cashier was friendly and apologized that I had to wait behind a challenging customer. I praised him on how he handled the situation and wished him a good day. I love my new safe box.
