Rick's reminds me if the donut shop from when I was a kid. I used to get a bakers dozen with my mom and she'd let me have one on the ride home. Fast forward and I find myself visiting Bentonville on business travel and staying in a hotel with a bakery across the street. I meandered over to find a classic collection of donuts and pastries. I never had a midwestern kolache before and is was so tasty. I ended up getting a box to go to travel back home to Atlanta. Definitely get a bear claw and blueberry old fashion. You should pick up at least half a dozen to fit the box on your next visit. Be nice and share with others. The service was quick. And I loved the old school diner. Loved the old school diner. My coffee group has been frequenting Rick's every Wednesday morning for years now. The staff is very friendly and always greets us. The cases are fully stocked when we arrive by 9am. Everything from their donuts to the muffins and danishes are fresh and flavorful. In my opinion, all of the muffins taste the same, but my friends swear by them! I also wish they were a bit bigger! I love the variety of cupcakes and iced cookies they carry! Their icing is soooooo sweet yet soooooo good! it's addicting! My favorite part of Rick's is their cakes/cupcakes. The cakes are freshly made, and with such detail and artistry! A bit on the pricey side, but if you want quality food, then you'll pay the extra. Along with a variety of baked goods, they also serve lunch with a nice array of sandwiches on the menu. They have an art gallery of local artist selling their work and small gifts about the store for purchase. They usually carry 2-3 different coffees per day including Hair on the Hog, a local favorite! Stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon and found the bakery cases to be pleasantly full with cookies, cupcakes, petit cakes, donuts, fritters, brownies, and bars. Service quick and efficient. We tried a strawberry petit, chocolate petit, raspberry bar, and German chocolate brownie. The resounding comments were that while all desserts were delicious, they were excessively sweet. The strawberry cake had wonderful flavor yet could certainly be improved with less sugar. The topping of the raspberry bar was excellent, yet the bar itself was too gooey. The German chocolate brownie was SO dense that it was recognised more as a fudget bar than a brownie. I have ordered a birthday cake from here in the past and it was very well-received. read more

Came here for the first time to order a cake for my wife's birthday. The ordering process was very easy and price wasn't bad. My wife is a quilter and I was able to get a cake design like a quilt which made her very happy. The cake was really good, nice and moist and the icing was excellent as well. I was in town for visiting Walmart corporate and I was staying across from this place. I went in and bought a brownie, one of each sausage rolls (plain and jalapeño cheese), and a couple of snickerdoodle cookies. What a find! They make so many desserts here, you could spend an hour trying to figure out what you want. I enjoyed what I bought so much that I went back the next day before flying back to Atlanta and picked up a couple ham and cheese croissants (sold out the day before) I mowed one down this morning. I had high expectations after visiting the website for this location but I was disappointed. Pros - excellent service & good food Cons - the tables had not been bused all day! The dinning area was dirty and husband actually wiped down our table and benches to try to get our area clean. Also, you serve yourself in the coffee shop area of the restaurant which was set up not to be self serve so it was not very customer friendly. The cake I thought I was getting vs what I actually got was HORRIBLE. This was a special 21st birthday cake & the colors were NO WHERE near the picture. The cake should have been pink & gold and I got random neon colors? the store employees were very rude. I selected a 6pm pick up time and the employees were annoyed obviously wanting to just close the store. My friend wanted to get a brownie but the worker told her they were closed. Our realtor (Russ Kidwell) sent us cookies from Rick's Bakery and I have NEVER had a better cookie in my life! They were sugar cookies that were glazed in a very thin icing and then had a beautiful buttercream decorative frosting on the top. They were soft but dense too. I have never actually been to Rick's Bakery but I am going now !!! If you have never had one of their frosted sugar cookies, do yourself a favor and get one. You won't be sorry !! read more

When it comes to their bakery goods I can't deny that they are by far the best fresh baked goods I've ever had. My reason for the low review is due to their staff and their inappropriate conversation she like to have in front of customers. One staff member by the name of Kristy or Kristina was up front and seemed to be bragging to another staff member about how she's trying to get with another married staff member and how she's going to "ride his dick". There were multiple kids up front and everyone could hear her. I don't know how they can have someone with suck a Foul mouth person working there. She's seems disgusting and shouldn't have someone like that representing your company. read more

Dropped in for lunch. First off, order at counter by front door. It isn't exactly intuitive. After ordering, you're left to wonder through the many treats in display cases. After my Cobb Salad arrived I realized ordering a salad in a bakery may not have been the smartest thing to do. However, everything was fresh and tasted good. It was served with a yeast roll that reminds you are at a bakery, it was fresh, slightly sweet and very good. This place is a bit of a hot mess. I ordered a cake last year for Christmas. It was supposed to be a mocha peppermint (which they said they could do- they have a cupcake this flavor). I was so excited about it and had company to enjoy it. When I picked it up, it only looked like a plain frosted cake so the lady rushed to add candy canes on top when I questioned it's flavor. Rick's Bakery made us the most beautiful and scrumptious wedding cake! We planned our ceremony only 3 weeks in advance and Rick's was able to accommodate us. We looked at cake design pics on the web site, called and coordinated a tasting, chose our flavors and let them do what they do! The cake with the flowers provided by the florist was delivered precisely on time and in perfect condition. I'm not sure how not to rate it 5 actually- we walk in to an amazing assortment of cookies, cakes, and donuts. Everyone is smiling, and why shouldn't they be- they're serving up happiness. We actually dropped in for an early lunch and I was pleasantly surprised to find a legit deli sandwich complete with pickle and chips! I also had a bowl of the tomato soup that was delish! Left with an assorted box of sweet treats. This place is perfect for custom order cakes, they had some great ones on display.
