I love that this place although small has everything you need. They also have ceviche which is great! The ice cream/popsicles offerings are endless! It's really a mini market providing access to fresh ingredients in the neighborhood. Elote! I couldn't resist after seeing the sign for it. The cup it's served in is a large which gives a lot of corn for less than $5. I would prefer to have options on the size because it was a lot but great for snacks! You have the option to make it spicy as well which is great. I will definitely recommend this place because it has everything.

We started with two appetizers: the guacamole and the burrata. The guacamole was tasty, but the portion was surprisingly small. The burrata dish was very salty--not just from the prosciutto that was part of the dish, but overall. We were celebrating a couple of birthdays, and the restaurant kindly brought us two complimentary appetizers, charred carrots and a gem lettuce salad. We appreciated the gesture, and both were tasty. Unfortunately, the charred carrots were also quite salty. All four of our entrees tasted good, but the portion sizes ranged from small to extremely small. My blackened salmon was approximately 1¼ inches wide and 3 1/2 inches long. I initially thought part of my entree had been left off the plate but I eventually found the quinoa underneath the salmon--but there was literally less than a tablespoon of it. The other three entrees had somewhat better portions, but all three were also noticeably oversalted. My wife, who adds salt to just about everything, even commented that her dish was too salty, which says something. Our bill was approximately $300 for the four of us before tax and tip. At that price point, I expect significantly better execution, more reasonable portions, and better value. Overall, the service was good, the atmosphere was attractive, and we appreciated the complimentary birthday appetizers. Unfortunately, the food was simply too salty and the portions were far too small for the price. I had been looking forward to this restaurant, but based on this experience, I left mostly disappointed and would not recommend it.

Nothing at the farmers market met my standards, and the sourdough baguette I got from Little Bread Co. in Fayetteville was...expensive and flaccid. I was close to accepting that the loaves at Walmart were as good as sI was going to get. I stumbled upon Big Heart Bread when I was visiting downtown Rogers for the first time and knew I had to stop in. The rotating, fresh-out-the-oven daily bakes are incredible--I have gotten the white cheddar dill and gochujang garlic, which were delicious and tasted great even after freezing. You can tell that the bread is made with such care; there's even a freezer bag tucked inside and a paper slip with an ingredient list and reheating directions. If none of the fresh stuff tickles your fancy, they have packaged loaves and half-loaves of other flavors. They also have a smaller pastry case that usually has sourdough coffee cake, chocolate chip cookies, and other rotating treats. Last time I stopped by, they had loaves of sourdough chocolate babka for Passover. BHB also offers sourdough-making workshops, and sells sourdough-making supplies (starter, baskets, lames), alongside some local ceramics and other kitchen goodies. The bread is a little pricier compared to other places (fresh-baked rotating loaves are $16), but they donate a portion of their proceeds to local schools, so I am more than happy to support. They really live up to their name. I love BHB and will miss it when I leave NWA!

Gooseberry's storefront is in a pretty unassuming strip mall near the Bentonville USPS/Osage Park. It's not a sit-down place by any means, so prepare to get your pies to go. I ended up getting three mini pies--coconut cream, French silk, and banana pudding (not technically a pie but is sort of pie adjacent?). I think they set me back around $30; clearly they are not cheap, but I'd rather pay a little extra $$ for a quality treat. Many thanks to the nice guy at the counter for all the recommendations! My ranking: 1. French silk -- I am a sucker for chocolate cream pies and this one was great. The chocolate cream was rich but not too sweet. The crust to filling ratio was great and was clearly a quality, all-butter crust (I can immediately clock a crust that is cut with shortening like Crisco). 2. Banana pudding-- Solid, standard banana pudding. I know the bar is low, but I was relieved that it tasted like actual real banana, and not like banana runts/jello pudding. 3. Coconut cream -- This wasn't a bad pie by any means, but I didn't like the stringy bits of coconut in the custard, which I also found too sweet. I think toasted coconut sprinkled on the surface would've been the way to go. I wish I had gotten to try a quintessentially Arkansas pie like possum pie that day, so I would recommend calling ahead of time to get a sense of what's available/the rotating menu of the week. You can also pre-order a whole pie of your choosing, but it's just me over here and ordering a whole pie would be $$$ and dangerous. That being said, highly recommend!
