This place was absolutely delicious. Made fresh right in front of you, down to the tortillas. The salsas were perfect, and the al pastor was the crispiest I've ever had. Cannot wait to come back!

All the tacos here are a bombbb! We were visiting LA we from SD and once we saw the canapy my wife and I didn't think twice and we stopped by to see the food and once we tried we couldn't get happier on our life with just tacos. The cabeza and chorizo ones are the besttttt ever. If you by here don't think twice and try it you won't regret it.

Right around the block from home, friendly, quick, good peeps, and delicious. Remember to grab the grilled veggies. They don't even know they're here on Yelp.

Ok. I've spent a few years trying different taco stands throughout LA. I have two places I go to when I am craving. But never noticed this stand that's sorta close to my place. The tortilla is made fresh to order. The salsa was warm...as if it was recently cooked...never knew salsa had to be cooked...but my chef brother confirmed, fresh salsa is cooked. The meat had flavor. Wish they had more drink options. They only had horchata that looked like it was from the night prior. Sides...radish, lime, onion cilantro, and something else. Not a lot. They were grilling up onions and pepper. So maybe if I was there a few hours later??? They might have more side options. I'll be back for sure. Maybe not right when they open at 7. Parking...I and a few other people parked at the laundry mat and walked over.

I almost bet the next time I go back they won't be there. Without signs of ever existing. Like a fuggen mirage to only exist in my memory of a delicious taco. They were that finger licking delicious, is it even possible they are real? Apparently so, says the other 2 reviews on Yelp. 2 al pastor tacos and a horchata for $3. Can. not. be. beat. What lured me here was that delicious meat on display. The guy shaving the pieces of meat off and that pineapple sitting on top. Looks legit!!! Tastes legit as well. Swing by and give them a try!

This review is for the street taco set-up at night. NOT the truck that parks here during the day. OMG. These are REALLY good street tacos. Every thing rings of freshness. The tortillas are pressed fresh and grilled as you order. In a corner of the tortilla grill, a huge crock of pinto beans simmer. (Those are free btw, added gratis on top of your taco selection.) They a big variety of taco meats. Standard fare of carne asada, chicken and pastor. THEN they have the tongues and cheeks of what I'm not sure, my tastes are simple: I went with asada and pastor. Next stop: the salsa table. The green tomatillos sauce was so fresh it was still slightly warm. The avocado salsa was also good. Add your onions and cilantro and a squeeze of lemon, mercy those tacos were good. Second visit: I discovered the grilled onions and jallepenos. And the quality of everything was on point with the first visit.

These toppings were fresh and delicious.

Nice homemade tortillas and good sauces but the asada is too chewy almost like rubber. Almost impossible to eat.

For around $10, you're getting a burrito that's practically the size of your face and packed with flavor. The carne asada is the star of the show. It has an amazing char, is perfectly seasoned and tastes fresh every single time. The atmosphere is great too. Good music, friendly staff, and a hardworking crew that always seems to have a smile on their faces. They have a self serve toppings bar with plenty of options, and while some people may be hesitant about that at a taco stand, everything is always clean and well maintained. I've eaten here many times and have never had an issue. The sauces are absolutely fire. The guacamole sauce, spicy green salsa and red hot sauce all bring something different to the table. Nothing tastes old or like it's been sitting around. Everything tastes fresh and is made with care. This has become our go to spot. We've tried a lot of taco stands and food trucks throughout Los Angeles, and honestly, nothing else has come close.

However, El Primo has recently HUMBLED me. I have to give credit where credit is due and El Primo managed to slide in my number 1 spot for best tacos in LA - I am truly impressed. Of course, I always opt for carne asada and the meat here is just so tender and flavorful especially when paired with their salsa which has the perfect amount of spice and flavor. As a major pineapple fan, I understand it's more traditional to add that with al pastor but I add it onto my carne asada tacos and it is so yummy. Their pineapple is freshly cut right in front of you and is my favorite aspect of this vendor as I know not all vendors have it. Lastly, let's be clear that not all horchata is created equally but El Primo has superior horchata. The amount of milkiness and cinnamon is absolute perfection as I've had some watery horchatas in the past, so make sure you grab yourself a horchata while you're here. As someone who lives in the valley, despite recently discovering this spot a few weeks ago I find myself driving out to Venice a lot lately just for these tacos because they are just THAT GOOD and also very cheap. Just make sure you bring cash or have Zelle and enjoy the food here because it is phenomenal.
